Mk1 SEAT Leon Cupra R POV Drive
Hello guys, welcome back to Car Obsession, and welcome to another POV video. This time things are a bit different as I'm in one of the Car Obsession fleet; 'Leona' my Mk1 SEAT Leon Cupra R.
The Mk1 SEAT Leon Cupra R is powered by a 1.8 turbocharged four cylinder petrol offering 210hp and 270Nm of torque. 0-62 is done around 7 seconds and the top speed is over 140mph. She is mostly standard, but listen carefully and you'll be able to hear a Ramair induction kit. Other mods include Team Heko wind deflectors, sunstrip and a rear wiper delete, the last two I don't really care for in all honesty.

Proud owner of the cupra r 2005 bam. 128k miles fully serviced. Makes me smile everyday I drive it. Only mod ramair filter. So attached to this car I can't see myself ever wanting to sell it. Pops and bangs doesn't interest me. Infact that's all most people are using now. #sheep all noise no substance imo

Great cars, I have a 2004 Flash Red R. They are starting to disappear from the roads now though, hopefully a future modern classic.

Had two Leon Cupras. One had 179k on it and was totally reliable. The second one was mint, low mileage and FSH and a complete nail. Seems pot luck so good luck with it.

I have the leon Cupra, not the R that I bought in the summer, rebuilt engine head and gearbox got repaired too with 80 odd thousand miles and they do sound nice especially with a decat cobra exhaust system, spits flames which is cool enough for me but I'm ngl, when trying to thrash it on B roads, it seems a bit spiritless, it just seems a bit bland, and I don't feel confident in its reliability with it being VW stuff, I'm thinking I might sell it in the summer this year if I get a good offer for it, I've owned 6 cars since my license in 2018 including a celica and now a starlet that I'm fixing up from someone who crashed and once that's done I have parts ready to start turboing it, even my starlet has more character than my cupra, weird to say, might just be me

Hi dude I no this may seem. Weriod but i have the mk1 cupra 180 and I did have a generic map on it with. No. Dyno but I do no the gear ratios 1st gear I get 40mph 2nd gear 60mph and 3rd gear is just over 80mph.. From your experience how does this compare to yours

I don't have the car anymore, but it's a manual, so a remap wouldn't change the gear ratios, you'd have to physically alter the transmission. Thanks for watching 👍🏽.

That's for the BAM engine, which was fitted for the facelift, this is the pre-facelift, which has the less powerful AMK engine. Thanks for watching 👍🏽.

Might be the AMK but it's just the last gen before which are better for mods and mapping stronger block. I've got a blue Cupra and love her.
