    I still like sentinels, the feeling of being able to watch 3-4 angles on your own soothes my paranoia that thinks an enemy could be anywhere and that the game might turn into horrorant with enemies popping out of corners.

      @@whydoihavetousemyname5603 true you need to comm your team to follow you, the entrying kay o would probably pop flash through a smoke or similar so the entire team can follow him in with no trouble (though I'll be honest they dont a lot of the time in low elo solo queue cuz everybody just baits) so usually there will always be teamates ready to trade.
      Even if ressing is unsafe, fake ressing kay o is good for baiting enemies to peek to get free kills. Not to mention kay o would (ideally) get at least 1 kill or so before dying whether via an aim duel or killing the people he flashed

    This is exactly what valo players need to understand. I keep telling my team that they need to play like the role they have picked. You cant play slow with a duelist or wait for someone to ask for a smoke. Being proactive is key to getting the control of the rounds. Being a duelist you should have the mindset to push into a site without the fear of dying. Sure try not to die but if your team is getting the full control of site because you pushed and got the info then that's good for you too. You got the round! and you will get +ve RR when you win the match, not when you drop 40 kills and still lose the match. Prioritize winning the round over kills.

    QotW: I would say Controllers are the most important to have on the team. I play in low elo and here it doesn’t make a difference if we have 4 of 0 duelists, same as initiators, but I would prefer having an initiator on the team, over a duelist. Sentinels fill similar role to a controller, but they are more about holding an angle than attacking one. Controllers can do both, attack sites, defend sites and fake site holds.
    The only negative with controllers in low elo is the high skill gap of the role, but just having a person who knows smoke spots is waay better than having a duelist who camp upon a box all game.

      Some with just bum-rush passed before you can clear angles or flash them in and wonder why they died. And they’re the first to get mad when you die first.
      I’ve definitely dealt with insta-lockers and they are annoying as hell but there are also people who basically expect they duelists to be two ranks ahead of them so they can get carried and not lift a finger to help them.

I don’t mind sitting back more or watching flanks or even going for a flank depending on the situations that happen during the rounds

    As a jett main that's what I hate everyone thinks you are a tenz. As a duelist my job is to get you a space if 5-7 sec are not enough for you to get inside the site and you are not trading me then its your fault not mine that I am bottom fragging.

  • @KemicalKiddMUSIC
    @KemicalKiddMUSIC 2 года назад +3

    Initiators and controllers def top 2 important roles. Both are good on def and attack. One controls maps (in a game about maps and positioning ffs!) and the other initiates and/or gets intel (in a game about finding and killing enemies! lol). Least important role tbh is probably dulelist cus everyone is a duelist. You wont run out of them. Shit even a sentinel thinks they are a duelist LMAO.

  • @KevinEF

    At what elo does the duelist start to make space and entry? It sure isn't in plat 70% of the time... I think I entry as viper more often than the insta-locking Reyna or Jett... They love to roam or play for K/D, but once we plant the spike they suddenly start to play super aggressive and get killed.

    • @joy-kb7tm
      @joy-kb7tm 2 года назад +3

      no THISS, I have to put up my wall, then plant and THEN the jett starts smoking off areas and dashing about. That's why I also love playing kj, because I can have the turret peak for me instead of walking right in while the instalock reyna is off somewhere in mid going to a different site. It's actually so annoying, and when I maybe get the chance to play reyna i dont just run off to mid i actually FLASH for my teamates to help gain entry? My best valo experiences is when a reyna flashes, a jett dashes, instead of marshal-ing mid all rounds and complain when they dont get traded

      Once you start playing with a 5 stack.
      You don't need to be "good" friends, but build up a friendslist. Someone on your team was really chill, they talked clearly and you liked the game, + they played well? Add them and then later ask if they wanna team up later.
      Always try to stack as hard as you can.
      You are mostly going to get duelist baiters & wall-licking sentinels with no comms untill pretty high ranks, and even then it's pushing it.

    • @KevinEF

    • @SerAkimbo

      The rule of the instalock Reyna is to enter last and bait your team. Always be the last one alive so you can get your kills up, and then flame your team for being bad.

    I really like play as sentinels(kj,sage,cyper) where I can defense 2 side at once plus my aiming not that good. especially on defending round where I full protect the site, I kinda hate it on other players when we on attacking round they call me noob because I'm bottom frag with only 1-3 kills and always stay alive alone without kills and die with clutch. Please wait until switch round to Defence, I'll protects the site alone and get kills with my utility.

    Rule for every role :
    Duelists : Entry frag. Stop laying back and letting your team do the work, you're the one who needs to take the site and attack. Clear angles and take the site.
    Initiator : Just scan the site for info.
    Sentinel : Always hold the flank or hold a choke point.
    Controller : Play for smokes. You're called a controller, who controls the field.
    (Note : If you're playing dualist, always play for entry. Don't take the bomb and enter site. Also, to those who are near a dualist, try to trade. Don't bait dualists, it's a waste of manpower
