The last photo OMG. Amazing
My God ....she is absolutely beautiful!! Her simplistic facial expressions and her rich, healthy cascading over her eyes hair?? Oh man...great modeling!! Great job everyone!!📸📸📸👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
You and those pants! Laughing!!! Great shoot!
Definitely my favourite video of yours.
What didn't you like specifically?
Gorgeous model!
Only just seen this. Fair play Miguel you're different class. Superb images on the run.
Came here straight from Taylor’s video...a 135mm is a BOLD choice indeed! It’s cool to see how 2 photographers go about shooting the same beautiful model.
The 35mm would be my choice for this. Great challenge very interesting to see how everyone works.
Cool idea
Love it 👍❤
Nice PS Vintage shirt!! Love the bokeh on the 135mm.
Great video! And I was wondering the new Godox v1 light, what do you think it with profoto A1?
Miguel, now that Sony released 3.01 firmware updates for continuous eye auto focus on shutter release, do you recommend using that or still using back focus? Thank you!
I have to comment again. I will be going to nyc next month for comic con, and I am going to attemp this challenge. This video and Taylors just motivating.
great shots
Telephone booth dope shot!
Hi Miguel - I love you last photo, and the pic in the phone booth the best! The umbrella photo with the buttery background of umbrella color would have been great with the lens also!
Still loving your videos Miguel. What's the thinking behind ISO 400?
I love this video. I am sitting here just yelling out loud . " use the phone booth"
DUDE i was like, phone booth phone booth... u heard me. LOL GREAT video btw
Great video.
Great Challenge 👌
great challenge.. love to try this ...Im in New York in November if you fancy it..
I saw the red phone box when you went for the Yellow wall and I was yelling at the Screen.........."Red phone box.......Red phone box!!!!. Great video and hard to do with the 135mm , but boy she looks great with that focal length.
....
Nice video i liked the idea you are both great , i think the 135mm choice was crashing the environment a lot , i will give this one to Taylor .
Nice video but what was up with that focusing?
tj representing tdot!
the 135mm is perfect for headshots and does so better then a 85mm and also good for head shoulders and such
ooohhhh my favorite area, the meatpacking district!!!!!
Do you prefer e front curtain shutter on or off?
Can you make a special video on how to interact and behave with people, models, couples like what to speak what not to speak what jokes or humour level to get great expressions..
Honestly, the 135 though a pain because of the distance you have to maintain does make it easier with better subject isolation, bokeh, compression than a 35 minute. Allot more work compositionally with a 35 with all the distractions etc
Miguel do you find the 135mm f1.8 not being sharp. I bought it with great hopes but my sigma 105 f1.4 still beat it in sharpness
My 135 has been in the top 5 sharpest I've used on any system ever! Blows away the Sigma in my opinion.
Could be sample variation also
Strange. I’ll give it another shot. Haven’t taken it outdoors. What aperture did you find it most sharp ? I shot at f11 at the studio
I love that you did this kind of fun shoot with Taylor. Any chance you and Manny (Ortiz) do another 10-min challenge? Btw, are those SOOC photos? Cheers!
We will likely do another one in November! Shots in this video aren't sooc, shooting in RAW the shots would all look gross 😀📸
@@MiguelQuilesJr I just remembered you already did a challenge with Manny before. 😁 But I would still watch the next one. It was fun watching you guys!
My eyes are still trying to recover from all the blurriness. I kept having to take off and put on my glasses to make sure it wasn't me.
Which lens/cam was used with the camera man? It was losing focus a lot. I loved the 135mm however and you’ve been created as always!!!
Canon 1DXII and a Sigma 35 Art lens
Thanks! Meant “creative” btw
Curious to know why iso 400. Thanks man 🤙
I usually shoot my outdoor shots at ISO 400 as my starting point and then utilize my shutter speed and aperture to get the exposure looking good. 👍📸
Fast shutter = Sharper image with a moving subject. So higher iso. I try not to go over 800.
Hi Miguel, Why ISO 400 1/3200 At day light? And thanks for your amazing videos.
Handheld 135 at 1.8 and in stressed situation, its nice to have fast times like 1/3200, and ISO 400 is really not a problem anymore. Could drop it but this is on the safe side 👍
Robert Björk Thanks Robert for answering, your are right make sense, Under safe side but I think it’s like taking a picture a Hummingbird, I use ISO 100 and 1/800 should work too. I’m not a Pro, I just want to learn, I appreciated your share. I I’m totally agree with your answer.
@@aphovi 1/800 or even as low as 1/250 with the 135mm would do the job aswell. But when you are pressen for time and moving from shadow to sunlight etc, its smart to play it safe. I love the 135mm (I have the Sigma för Canon), but even when I thought it was sharp at 1/320 or so, I would later see in post that it had tiny motionblur. So I always play it safe when shooting handheld with that heavy Lens.
Robert Björk Thanks a lot, I like that answer, it make me feel comfortable with a bigger frame of time. Nice
ISO 400, this could be to reduce the motion blur when shooting under shadow, but too busy to switch to ISO 100 when under sunlight
Hello. I'm going to Folk Week.
Lots of people, stalls, performances of ethnic groups.
Which lens will be better?
... I would like to point out that I love bokeh ...
Most of the photos are street photos and portraits.
1. Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS
2.Sony FE 135mm f1.8 G Master
I can only take one with me
Great job guys I love your work but it seemed like she had the same facial expression she is still beautiful though
dude! you had the hole street...
With so much sunlight, why did you use ISO 400?
Whats with the lack of focus on the video work?
You love this or 100stf ?
Funny enough, I just finished filming a comparison video between the two. Stay tuned as it may be a long answer!
At 5:06 it's clear the model wasn't comfortable about sitting on the dirty ground. Nor would I be. I would be cursing you for forcing me to soil my clothes and skin. Next step from there - is to put dirty shoes (or bicycle or car tyres) on the table.
Man the auto focus is 🗑🗑 ... 🤯🤯
Not a bad af. Is a 1dxii with great af but a little tricky to do those kind of videos with people moving around also the video guy too in a city wich make it not such a clean background.
damn the focus on that camera was not so good.
royandescartes it’s a SONY!🙈
Which camera, the one that shot the video or mine?
He ment the videographer and I was thinking the same thing. I believe he or she just didn't know their video focus settings. Miguel what camera for video
Miguel Quiles the video is a Canon 1Dx I guess, an you off course is using Sony 😁
He was shooting run and gun with the Canon 1DXII. It was struggling a bit but Chuy is always on point!
My god...is depth of field all these guys know....these pics could have been taken anywhere....none of this took any skill at all !.... A great lesson for begginers....it takes no talent at all to take a decent photo....and this guy is proof !!!!!
use a proper video camera and not a DLSR, your focusing is too slow and apature is open too much.
Want to come shoot my next one with your Arri or Red camera? 😉
@@MiguelQuilesJr You don't need a $8k video camera to make great videos nor do you need a $8k camera body to take great photos.
Sorry I "know everything" , I never did understand why people rather use a DSLR instead of a proper video camera when shooting video. Better yet, come to Canada.
Miguel / Taylor love the concept of this and enjoyed watching you both but ..... Taylor your images after each preset your pushing for sales made your shots look and dull and underexposed. Sorry!
Why do such successful photographers do this with their sales and work. I know and I get it pays the bills but your images were not that good.
Taylor is a sweet guy..but come on bro. Let's do a real challenge. Manny Ortiz, Keydrin Franklin, Ernesto Sue, photographers with artistic skills that include the whole frame.. Not just isolated subject can blurred out background.
Taylor is an awesome photographer in his own right! I've already done challenges with Manny Ortiz (2 or 3 at this point) but I'll definitely be doing more as the months roll on. Stay tuned! 😀👍📸
Taylor Jackson is an incredible photographer
I like many ortiz also but he is taking picture of his wife in no pressure situations
Not really impressive
I'll look out for your video 👍
Miguel Quiles I’m just really impressed by your studio shoots in comparison with this.
I have a lot more time to compose those 😁👍
