Few things in life are as good as The Declaration from 18:25 to 20:02 Released so much trauma listening and re-listening to that segment over the years. Forgotten Paths still one of the few albums I can say I "love" "in it's entirety" front to back. Pure existential bliss
After I've been on a long journey though out my life finding different exceptional styles of black metal,this band is a refreshing experience. The very first band I grew up on was cradle of filth. Not normally a fan of bagpipes, but it's amazing how well they harmonize with the guitars in the intro to "Guardians". Maybe the core issue I have with most bagpipe music is that it generally has the bagpipes standing alone, when (at least for my ears) they apparently work better as part of a broader soundscape.
The opening to this album is one of the best openings I’ve ever heard, grabbed me at first listen and I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve listened to this album since.

"tears of a nation" is so beautiful and emotional
Not normally a fan of bagpipes, but it's amazing how well they harmonize with the guitars in the intro to "Guardians". Maybe the core issue I have with most bagpipe music is that it generally has the bagpipes standing alone, when (at least for my ears) they apparently work better as part of a broader soundscape.
The opening to this album is one of the best openings I’ve ever heard, grabbed me at first listen and I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve listened to this album since.
