R.J. tears it up every time. He's one of my favorite guitarists from the standpoint of how I would like to play. Totally gets the vibe of all the roots music styles.
That's what I call a real demonstration of the instrument! No unnecessary blah blah, no very loud, awkwardly hyperactive annoying Energizer Bunny attitude like Mr. X. Ronquillo nailed it, excellent guitar playing as always!👏⚡🔥🎸🎶🤘
Once again RJ you provide compelling reasons to chase every axe you demo. I'm not only overwhelmed by Eastwood options but your musicianship. You bring the house down dude!
This is meant as a compliment and in no way as a slight towards whatever guitar brand RJ is taking for a run. The facts are , RJ Ronquillo ,could walk into any Walmart , pick up a First Act guitar (or whatever brand they're pushing), plug in and make it sound awesome. Oh yes, thumbs up on this entry and the guitar...purple reign!
Smoking as always, RJR! (I already have this guit, but can't make it do this. So maybe I need to buy the new rosewood version? Meanwhile: love you, Prince, and miss you every day!)
Vale...!! Sí pudiéramos ir a universos paralelos, tú serías el vehículo...!!!🙌🏻... veo tus vídeos cada vez que necesito un puñetazo...! Espectacular...!!!! Felices fiestas...!!!!
R.J. is the kind of player who -- depending on your mood and experience -- can either inspire you to grab a guitar and start playing, or quit playing forever and give away all your gear because you realize you'll never be that good.
Anybody seen the collaboration of “while my guitar gently weeps” with Tom Petty, George’s son, Jeff Lynn, Steve Windwood and ofcourse prince? Watch prince’s solo and you will buy this guitar!!
I have to say sorry to all my guitar heroes of the past. RJ just took the spotlight....is there anything he doesn't play well? I'll continue to buy my guitars from Eastwood, they are that good!
It's going to sound the same - same materials. But...if you want to see more of the Royal Violet here's some cool photos from our Facebook page: facebook.com/photo/?fbid=598551738984668&set=a.547358294104013 AND facebook.com/EastwoodGuitars1/photos/a.1482571065096941/4439134679440550/
How can you tell? I was looking at one of these because I love Prince but if it doesn't actually sound like the guitar he used then I guess it would be pointless.
I used to think Eastwood was a cool company, but ripping off H.S. Anderson changed that completely. Why settle for a rip-off when the real deal is still available too?
But, it's okay for H.S. Anderson to rip off other brands *when the real deal is still available, too???* The H.S. Anderson website clearly states that *they also do tribute models* [aka: copies of other company's designs] copy/paste from their site: www.madcatguitars.com "H.S. Anderson didn’t only produce original models like the Mad Cat, Kite and Houston, *but also ‘tribute’ guitars* like the HS-4 singlecut. Fast forward 40 years. The first ideas for what would ultimately become the Sexy MF came to the drawing table 4 years ago, and after years of research and testing prototypes it’s finally here." *[the Sexy MF is clearly a Les Paul copy when the "real deal is still available too".]* Reverb.com 'sold' listings show H.S. Anderson has in the past, copied the Fender Stratocaster and the Gibson Explorer. reverb.com/brand/hs-anderson-1?show_only_sold=true&page=1 We'll ignore that the MadCat is a Fender Telecaster copy... another "real deal that is still available".
@@EdwoodCA You are essentially right on this, but there are some big differences. We only did a small batch of the Sexy MF model, basically to see if we could pull it off, build a better LP. At that time, Gibson just released their awful 2015 line, with wide necks, robotuners, weird nuts, etc. You couldn't buy a decent LP for less than 6000-10.000 USD from them. We never caused them any harm, didn't actively promote it, sold very few. It's a classic example of 'punching up'. What eastwood is doing is exactly the opposite. They are much bigger than H.S. Anderson, have no issues calling it a "Mad Cat", use Prince's name in advertising (a big no-no in my book), and are definitely punching down on us, make us lose sales. The Eastwood looks like crap, that's the worst pickguard material I've seen on any counterfeit, and judging by this video, it also sounds nothing like the real deal. This year only 30 H.S. Anderson Mad Cats will be build, how many do you think Eastwood will put out? And do you think that's hurting business in the same way as building 30 LP's years ago to a company like Gibson? (who kinda deserved some punching up in those days) If you ever played a real Mad Cat you'll know it's not a telecaster copy, aside from the shape. It's a completely different instrument.
R.J. tears it up every time. He's one of my favorite guitarists from the standpoint of how I would like to play. Totally gets the vibe of all the roots music styles.
RJ's new video > instant like > watch the video
I really like this guy. He’s so smooth. And the guitar in this video makes me wanna spend my life saving on it
Well now you don’t have to! Quality Japanese copies are going for twice as much.
It's mostly about the playing more then the guitar itself!!...
he's not a guy, weakness
That's a sexy-ass axe. As a fan of his Royal Badness and a loyal Eastwood player, I heartily approve.
This is just the sickest playing I've seen in a while. Suits the guitar!
He has great phrasing and feel in his playing. So much more fun to see videos like this vs. the players who just want to shred everything like robots.
RJ killing it once again.... Smoking demo!!!!
RJ goes Purple! Awesome playing as usual.
Thanks you Ronquillo from Temperley, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Once again RJ you provide compelling reasons to chase every axe you demo. I'm not only overwhelmed by Eastwood options but your musicianship. You bring the house down dude!
Them funky pants almost went unnoticed
What a gorgeous axe. Kinda like Prince’s with the crazy tortoise shell pickguard. The body has such a nice finish. Hot playing by RJ!
"Kinda like Prince’s with the crazy tortoise shell pickguard" - you got it, that is completely the influence for this model!
@@eastwoodguitarsofficial I went to,your website and saw the Purple one. Oh man! Fantastic axe!
RJ. Ronquillio on 🔥 as always!!!👍👍👍👍
RJ makes anything sound good
Great as always!....Only wish I could play like R.J.
BTW. Love the Maui and Sons T shirt.
Brings back good memories.
Nailed the feel of the guitar as always, the track is awesome too!
Another great demo by RJ and another great build by Eastwood!! Cheers!!
I think RJ could make a piece of twine and driftwood sound good. 😜
Yeah I can't buy all the guitars he makes sing like demonic angels
@@TheVatonaught I can make them sound like caterwauling kitties. 🤣🤣🤣
I was trying to think how to say this but you done it bester.
He could make any guitar sound Great ! R J Rocks ! Love listening to him . That guitar is fantastic. Sounds very nice !
BADASSS......100% THE GUITAR......200% RON !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic!! Goes with the Saturday morning chat on this axe! Thank you RJ and Eastwood. 👏🏻👏🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Love those Mad Cats.
Us too!
I could watch him play for hours. And often do!
Us too!
Lovely machine, such good playing RJ!
YEAH!!! Gettin' your Prince ON!!!
Man..helluva groove right there! Out of this world sweet tone! It just soothes the soul

Thanks RJ and Eastman.
RJ is the real deal where he brings the best out of that instrument.
Eastwood
Smoking as always, RJR! (I already have this guit, but can't make it do this. So maybe I need to buy the new rosewood version? Meanwhile: love you, Prince, and miss you every day!)
RJ, in addition to your always mind-blowing performance, I gotta say, your outfit is on fire!!! Love it!! 🤘😜👍🎸🎵🎶🎵🤙
Dude rocked the heck out!
Fantástic job friends, greetings from Barcelona 👍👍
great sound-love that Tele too.🤟
So slick

nice jam on that prince tune^^
Get some RJ!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Damn that’s a funky guitar
You are right, this sounds incredible.
Love it!
Oh Boy..😊😚😚
Played well my brother.
I want to see RJ in concert…..
CONTROVERSY!!! COOL!!!
I want the opening jam to be about 10 minutes longer please. Thank you. 🤓
Yeah...I can play them chord shapes and it sounds like a white boy from Austria choir groups instead of funk.
RJ, You are the Master Funkmeister, boss, chief, and foreman of the funk. And that thing at 2:16 is jumping to Jupiter.
Dig that !
Great playing! lot like Prince! I hear Controversy.
Just. Wow.
Brilliant!!
Nice playing man, great touch
RJ!
Sweet
I'm not entirely sure, because the offer has never come up, but I think I might actually kill to be able to play like that. Because damn.
RJR!
Man the neck pup on that thing is in the sweet spot! does anyone know if these have a true maple cap or just a veneer? If its a cap im buying one!
Primo playing! 👌
I think I'm a pretty good guitar player...until I see guys like this!
Give me the link to buy one asap

Having a guitar that looks like Prince's doesn't mean you will be able to play and sound like Prince. Just saying. And my name is Prince!
Very Nice! If Eastwood was a dog and Fender was a tree......
🤣
I have to say sorry to all my guitar heroes of the past. RJ just took the spotlight....is there anything he doesn't play well?
I'll continue to buy my guitars from Eastwood, they are that good!
"get on the good foot".....
I wish Eastwood would create two lists (that would necessarily feature duplicates): one where the reviewer talks, and one where he doesn't.
Oh tho it hardly needs to be said, the amazing RJ's skill and versatility never seems to end!
Can yal please please PLEASE showcase the royal purple one? There's barely any footage of that version online.

What pickups are in there. Original had Bill Lawrence pickups.
Using the Morgan, and(???) 🤔
What strings, gauge etc, curious?
Controversy!
Hey RJ where’d you get those pants?
Sounds kind of stratty. But it's got that low end punch like a telie.
mad cat had strat pups.... I like the rosewood model they now sell 2 years later...
.one.more.funk.master.
Is that a Prince guitar? It looks a lot like Prince’s Telecaster. Nice playing as always R.J.
It's a cheap copy. The real ones are still being made though: www.hsanderson.eu/#tab-vintage
@@danymeeuwissen5973 Sounds like a "less expensive version" NOT "a cheap copy." Just sayin'...
Que huevos Nino.....eso es toquar la guitarra....,,👍

Is the guitar nitro or poly?
It's poly
hi RJ Wong
Man stfu
Good riddem playa.......haha.....Le
Fonky...
Lol I would make this beautiful guitar sound like ass 😂
sound thin
A copy of the bill lawrence version of the hohner copy of h.s. anderson mad cat 😵
as stated from eastwood website, they remake old guitars
Nice playing
Nothing in common with MasCat though (apart from visual mimicking)
How can you tell? I was looking at one of these because I love Prince but if it doesn't actually sound like the guitar he used then I guess it would be pointless.
$1400.00??????????????? NOPE
Unfortunately that’s the low end price for a good guitar. As good or better than a Tele
