Soul, Funk, New Wave,Jazz, Rock, Country, Pop, Folk, Reggae, Blues, Operatic even, I been a fan of PRINCE since his 1st first Album RESPECTFULLY *(12yrs old) I have been blessed to have witness have several LIVE performances though out my early teen yrs to my adulthood 50yrs. PRINCE Rogers NELSON is the most well rounded iconic artist of the last decade. He was MUSIC *(Musicology) in the flesh.
No arguments with that. And that is of course your personal view to which you are fully entitled. I have been a similar avid fan of Jeff Beck since the early 60s. I wasn't denigrating Prince; his music just isn't my cup of tea although he wrote some memorable songs that I do very much like.
I can understand why Prince was drawn to this instrument, it's simply beautiful. I have always wanted one but I have always put family and finances above my own personal wants so I don't think I will ever have one. Still a guy can dream can't he? As long as this style of guitar exist Prince will never be forgotten.
As a Japanese, I am paying attention to this brand again. Having made such a detailed explanation video I really appreciate it. I will continue to pay attention to your video! Phrase of people get ready were also good!
Excellent video kind sir. I enjoyed it immensely. Excellent chops you have also. I enjoyed your sense of humor as well. Now I need to go ahead and buy one of these as I have been wanting one for quite some time!
Cool There's an original 1974 Morris made Madcat in my late father's collection. It's a H & S Anderson, Hohner. I've not had it out for some time. From what I understand their really rare with only 4-500 of them being made. It pisses me off I'm left handed, always made my old man chuckle though. Thanks for the upload.
Great video, thank you. I just bought one myself. Found it for sale, used in my local guitar store... only 8 months old. I bought it right away! I am very happy with mine!
HS = ESP, that does explain why they're such an innovative company . HB pups sound brilliant thru that amp / setting Thanks for this unboxing champ!! 2-3 year waiting list for one of these guitars now. Japanese distributors / shops want a 300,000 ¥ deposit up front . Don't have to be a rhodes scholar, to understand the knock-off industry about this guitar.
Oh, it's a 2019 re-issue. That's why it's in mint condition. That is one of the most stunningly beautiful version 2 re-issue teles I've ever seen. I knew they did a re-issue of the original 1970s Madcat in 2010, but I didn't realize they did a 2nd re-issue in 2019. The abalone inserts on the headstock are a nice touch. The originals did not have that. I think calling a 22+ multi-instrumentalist a "showman" might not be a fair or accurate assessment of any musician who devotes hundreds of thousands of hours to not only learn all those instruments but master them. Conversely, when you mention Prince being an "underrated guitarist" I believe when Eric Clapton was asked what it felt like to be the best rock guitarist his response was, "I wouldn't know, ask Prince." So I don't think any musician or performer underestimates Prince as a guitarist, only those who are far less knowledgeable, less accomplished, and less experienced. Even most novice guitarists in other countries know what an extraordinary guitarist Prince was unless they come from an area without the internet being readily available like Africa was for 2 decades before they got smartphones. Now, that has nothing to do with liking Prince's music oeuvre or not. That's simply a plain fact. It's so true about the tone changing with the amplifier (and the player). It's really wonderful to see the smile on your face while you're exploring the various pickups and combinations. As My Guitar Gently Weeps is such a gorgeous song, and the guitar solo is equally amazing. Glad you play and don't just "collect". A guitar like that should be enjoyed.
Congrats to get nice guitar sir👍 N thx to show up ur happy situation😉 I gat Yamaha Pacifica 611 purple in last month, even got Acosta sonic tele in last week. Next my target is this MadCat😊 It was 18ys old Wendy, it was 13 I am at purple rain by prince those day😆 Keep going sir, from Tokyo 🇯🇵
I think most of his production was great have you even listen to for you or prince or 1999 production...or any of the time or Shelia E...or kenny rodgers...
I would never denigrate his overall artistry and invention, particularly his work with other artists; and he certainly wrote a clutch of timeless songs for himself and others. The negative IMHO was that he was not adept at editing his own prolific music-making; an awful lot of it should have been 'left on the cutting room floor' as not being up to the high standards of originality of other material.
What is your experience with the guitar after one year, Sir? Quality issues? I need a guitar for my amp Roland Jazz Chorus 160 from 1976, for a clean sound like Dire Straits Style. Could you still recommend this guitar? It costs here in Austria €3,000. My first choice is Charvel Guthrie Govan or eventual Yamaha SA2200 , but it is not easy to find it here. Thanks!
No, I'm afraid not. I really enjoyed owning and playing it, but moved it on to someone who would appreciate it even more. I went into a prolonged humbucker period!
Just gave in and got one of these. Thanks for the detailed review. While I'm a huge Prince fan, its great how you still love this guitar even though you are not. Such a unique instrument and worth it for its own sake. Great example of premium Japanese guitar making. Looking forward to getting it soon!
Ciao! Bellissima chitarra devo dire che è davvero un sogno! Potresti indirizzarmi su quale sito hai potuto effettuare l'acquisto cosi che anche io possa acquistarla, per favore??
freedom of speech is fine, but if you don’t know what you’re speaking about, well that’s when the fans have to step in and correct you. Still a great video unboxing though.
It's funny how few people understand why Prince was the best. But if you imagine that guitar being Michael Jordans Shoes, putting them on means nothing. Only Prince could have done with it what we saw. That was Princes way of saying; "There you go, if you think you can do better, try it!"To this day have you ever seen it done better than Prince?
Depends what you mean by 'best', don't you think? There are almost as many 'best' guitarists as there are famous guitarists. Variables: genre, listeners' tastes, etc. My favourite players and influences are numerous, including Jeff Beck, Peter Green, BB, Albert and Freddie, of course, David Gilmour.
Each to his own. I daresay there are plenty of artists that I enjoy that you do not. I think made it clear that I admire his musicianship, I just don't particularly enjoy his music. The last time I checked it was a free country so I stand by my preferences.
@@marmadukewinterbotham2599 Correct. And you have every right to your preference and opinion, just like you have every right for those to be misguided and others to think you are insanely wrong. Cheers.

I purchased one from Music Street too. As a life long Tele aficionado this had become my number one.
I had no idea how cool these guitars are till now, great demo 👍
The guitar is stunning in every way, and great ending, thanks for up close look and display.
I really like your laid back unboxing and review style. I could feel your enthusiasm for this beautiful guitar!

If Prince played on it has to be pretty nice!
The pickups sound fantastic !! It’s the best sounding Mad Cat Tele in my opinion .
What a fantastic video. Loved every second of it. ❤
Cheers Joe.

I actually sold it recently. No problems or issues, I just didn't bond with it long term. I'd thoroughly recommend it. Thanks for viewing!
Lovely guitar but my favorite is my ET Hybrid with Floyd Rose by Sawtooth with the 40 Watt AMP and the speed kills foot switch.
