Hi everyone. This is Jason Chonko, Applications Engineer at SIGLENT America. Thanks to Flux302 for the review. If you have any questions, you can write me at Jason.Chonko@siglent.com or info@siglent.com.
Just tripped over this. I got one of these scopes a few weeks ago, and just finished using it to measure and test my firmware changes to the Ornament and Crime Hemisphere Suite in order to better support Buchla voltages and unipolarity. Awesome scope.
Great video. Love how you explained the controls and with the music. I have the SDS1202X-E and would love to connect it to my PC's audio but am not sure how to safely do it. I was told that if both the scope and PC are earth grounded you could blow up your scope and or the PC. Any tips?
Hi Flux, love your videos - instructive and pragmatic. What connectors are you using to connect the tiptop stackables to the BNC channel inputs on the scope? Cheers
If I was calibrating a synth, but it only makes momentary sounds, how do you correctly capture the correct point in time to be able to measure correctly?
Ken Flux Pierce Fluxwithit Yeah, this guy seems to have a really low-profile converter that is letting him go right in with a TipTop stackable. Pretty elegant.
StarTrek123456 as stated in video there are other affordable options but not with this sort of gorgeous gradient display which may be important to many.
there are many cheap analog oscilloscopes on ebay. No digital screen can look as good as real phosphor. Some of the later models also have digital storage, so they can stop the waveform.
I would highly recommend watching the entire video, quite a few of the features I showcase are not not available in older analog scopes. beyond that fact also note the form factor as well. I love my analog scope but no way does it come close to the convenience or ability of this scope. do you have to buy a $400 scope... of course not. will a $60 scope off eBay offer what this scope does? of course not. lets not be silly.
I just think that showing all the fancy features of modern DSOs to people who are new to oscilloscopes gives them the impression that analog scopes are completely useless these days, when in fact, they can teach a lot about how the controlls on a synthesiser influence the audio waveform.
StarTrek123456 not at all, and in addition I've done many many videos featuring analog scopes ... absolutely nothing wrong with showing the benefits a scope like this can provide especially when compared to modules like the o'tool and mordax data .
GOOD STUFF BRO! Just bought one & subbed to your channel.
As an electronic musician getting into oscilloscopes this was informative, thanks.

Thanks, that roll mode looks handy for audio analyzing.
totally agree. really makes it nice
Nice scope. Latency seems nil which indicates good processing power. I want one! Wish Siglent had 4 channels at this price point.

Mike Thomas what did you buy for probes?

Thanks for your information
Great video. Where can I find the BNC to 3.5mm adaptors? I only found BNC to RCA. Thanks in advance.
Hey bro what cables are those you have hooked up to the BNC on the oscilloscope?
Hey is there a smaller cheaper one to sit next to my synths?

t3l3phasicworksh0p Bnc to 3.5mm
dope man thx
thanks for watching
Dope bro! Where's the interview about the MPC X and Live?!
coming soon
sweet scope for modular. great time division functions. would be nice if you could have 8 inputs. ahhh. to dream
they do have a 4 channel version. though price goes up accordingly.

silvertongues2 you can set the trigger to that channel and set the gain of that trigger higher
What did you use to convert BNC to 3.5mm mono. Nice and neat, looks like. I’ve searched, but nothing obvious is popping up.
I use a bnc to rca connector and from rca to 3.5mm , I also have test leads for when I need to be more precise.
Ken Flux Pierce Fluxwithit Smart. Why didn’t I think of that? 🤓
@@mike.thomas I wanna say at one point I had found some bnc to 3.5 but then they disappeared off the face of the earth lol

Got the 4 probes model, and the real problem with this scope for audio analysis is the slow framerate of the spectrogram. Would not recommend it.
you forgot XY for phase correlation
Man, I don't even rock with O scopes like that, but this joint is dope bro lol
no doubt. its pretty awesome
What cables are you using here?
Bnc to 3.5mm
Woah there
I feel like every time I watch a Flux video my bank account cries a little more.
its ok, this was just in for review so my bank will be hurting soon enough as well
... I like to move it - move it! I like to move it - move it....
You don't really need a 400€ scope for low frequency stuff like this.

Baby is crying in the background, but who cares? ...we want to know more about this piece of gear!
hahaha the joys of having a two year old. sorry I had hoped I edited any of that out.
Congrats!
