Its a beauty. I love these CEC manufactured turntables from the 70's with their solid plint and mechanics. These are rocks compared to the players of the 80's. The only thing I change by these turntables is the bottom cover. I change it to a 10 to 15mm mdf plate.

DO you have any tables in stock for sale? I had a PS 38 years ago and would like one - or something much like it. Please reply!

I just acquired a PS-38 table, with nice black plinth.
Can you be of any help with matching cartridge to this tonearm?
I am currently using an Audio Technica AT-11, which is I think identical to the original Hitachi VFS-260.
Besides that, I also own a Nagaoka JT-322 and Ortofon OM10.
So far the AT-11 sounds fine, but I would like to make a more conscious choice which cartridge would also work well.
Many thanks in advance for your reply!

Have a look at the Audio Technica AT-VM95 series of cartridges. There are 5 models that start with a budget conical stylus all the way up to a Shibata model.

      @@TurntableGuy Thanks for your response.
That looks a very versatile cartridge with the many styli options.
Is this reference from personal experience?
Or also based upon the compliance of the stylus with regards to the arm of my Hitachi PS-38?

@@christiaanzeelenberg1907 Both. I run a VM95EN on mine now and it has been a great match for that arm.

@@TurntableGuy That's interesting to hear. How well does the EN stylus do with inner groove tracking?
Any desire to move into the line contact styli?
