Do you know what is remarkable? Not only the beautiful and special amazing musical instruments but the passion, experience and knowledge of this gentleman! And all the family staff loving these special instruments. Absolutely brilliant and crazy insane!
Your looking absolutely fabulous Norm, and the guitars are looking almost as good for their age as you do, what a great bunch of vintage instruments, always love stopping by and taking a trip down memory lane.
A friend of mine received an Epiphone Pro guitar with matching Pro Amp for his birthday many years ago.His Grandfather, who was a regional sales rep for Gibson/Epiphone,gave it to him.He still has the set and the guitar and amp are in mint condition.
The fact that Norman is the inventor of the concept of vintage guitars is quite awesome. I came across a very old looking black Stratocaster rosewood neck, in a Scandinavian guitar shop at one time in 1991. I was told it was a prototype dating 1949. Man it was beat up, but even then in 1990´s the concept of a vintage guitar was not quite into the collective consciousness. The asking price was about 300 USD.
I have a mint condition 1973 Fender Telecaster Deluxe that has never been re-fretted and the case is all original like new. Norm would love to see it just like I love to see all these awesome vintage guitars! I Love these videos! Keep them coming Norm!!
I have a 1964 Firebird III thats in very good shape. It has a lipstick neck pickup which Gibson says is probably a factory pickup. They said they would have to see it to be sure its a factory pickup. If it is a factory pickup, it's one of very few that got out of the factory with this pickup.
Dang! Norm’s got all the cool guitars! OK-the deal with the Epiphone Professional is that it’s got all the amp controls built into the guitar. The reverb and tremolo controls on the guitar just work with the actual circuits in the amp, and it needs a special cord to work. The jack on the guitar’s top just takes the signal from the pickup through the volume and tone controls, for use with a different amp. I always wondered why they didn’t use two pickups on those-I guess they thought the Tonexpressor switches (that’s what they called them!) would have enough tone variations. The same bank of switches was used on the Epiphone Al Caiola models.
Norm, has the market keen sense to find and preserve and pass on iconic guitars. Genius really , and glad you do what you do. I have 2 vintage j45 1947 & 1955 that I need to move , willing to sell as a pair to the right player.. cheers Alberta Dave
Awesome video, but whoever's phone kept dinging had me checking my phone every 30 seconds. LOL Then Norm's phone went off hahaha! Anyone else would have been scolded.
I was being assembled in Moms womb same time as that 51 Tele. Wish I was as mint at 71! Im lucky to own Strat 11639 May of 56. Xavier XA on her neck end.
HAHAHA!! He does it for the $$$$$ you moron, and the price of these guitars means that literally only the uber rich lawyers will ever be able to afford them!
I'm officially offering my services to Michael Lemmo for when he demos the Epiphone Professional.😉 I played and played the matching pair from highschool through college.😎
Wow! I’ve never seen anyone play one of those; I just remember them from having Epiphone catalogs back in the ‘60s. What kind of music were you playing on it?
@@jfinester I wasn't in a band during that period, so the fact that this rig is clean and mellow didn't stop me from getting into the Stones, Allman Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, Clapton, Moody Blues, Hot Tuna, etc. My guitar had an incredibly stable neck with super low action and very low profile frets. It only had a neck pickup, so brighter tones we're only available via the set of switches and, of course, the tone knob. The amp wouldn't distort on it's own but a boost pedal would make it sing. The multiple pin cable that plugged into the guitar was wired directly to the amp, so pedals could only be played via the standard output jack that didn't allow the onboard reverb and tremolo controls to engage. I let her go in 1976, so my memories are starting to fade. ✌️☮️🤣
i hate owning something i can't scratch. there are plenty of great guitars under 2000 that you can actually play without the fear. i got a really nice tele , scratched a tiny bit but , is really clean. , 73 for 1200. if you shop around you can catch a guy that's got to sell. that's how i lost a 56 lp custom. i still cry about that and it's been 30 years.
I’ve got an ‘83 MiJ Squier modeled after the 50s Strat, and it doesn’t have a skunk stripe and the truss rod is at the heel of the neck. Almost everything stock, and it’s my favorite guitar.
Where does he find this stuff? A 1951 Tele with literally zero wear on it. It seems odd to me that someone who virtually never played it, went to the trouble of having the neck pick up rewired!
A buyer would have to be really, really, really confident of their vintage guitar lore, meaning specs & details, to not be concerned that guitar (the '51 Tele) could be a fake. It's in such good shape. Obviously Norm would be such a person. The maple cap '66 P-Bass may be very rare and it's in great shape with a rarish finish, but is it more desirable than a rosewood board?
Do you know what is remarkable? Not only the beautiful and special amazing musical instruments but the passion, experience and knowledge of this gentleman! And all the family staff loving these special instruments. Absolutely brilliant and crazy insane!

I’d like to see Norm do a breakdown on every guitar in the store.
We don't have that kind of time.
Love that roadworn 1966 Strat.
🎸 😍
Your looking absolutely fabulous Norm, and the guitars are looking almost as good for their age as you do, what a great bunch of vintage instruments, always love stopping by and taking a trip down memory lane.
I’m from 1951 and the guitar is in better shape but I have not stayed in my case. Keep it up Norm.
You’re not old. Your seasoned…
@@OakLawnSpeedShop Thanks but sleeping in my case has helped, always watch that humidity.
Every time the phone goes off I think it’s mine. Even though I’m watching on my phone 😂

The whole history of Guitar here....wow!!!
I have a Gibson ES-175T 1976 model...but it's a teen-ager compared to these ones...
Great job Norman!!!!
I get such a kick out of watching Norms videos. Please keep them coming....
Incredible stuff. I’m not even a bass player but that maple cap P bass just unbelievable
YES! That thing is the tits!!
I could listen to Norm all day long talking about guitars
That first Telecaster... Kinda weird to see something over 70 years old looking so new
I would do a radiocarbon dating on it, must be worth more than a brand new 2021 F-150 truck
And aside from the bridge (and colors) it looks just like my 2020.
Wow, older than Buddy Holly's
If I ever win the lottery i will be on a plane to Norms and I will buy a sh*t load of vintage guitars from him.
Thanks For the show Norm. Love you guys. From a native NE Philly guy from Mayfair.
Never seen a 1951 telecaster.Thank you so much!

“Because they’re all amazing!”
Ha I think my self very lucky to have been able to have seen all these early guitars enjoyed following along
I gotta see a demo of that Firebird!!
Least someone can buy vintage guitars. Lord knows I haven't been able to with the way the world has been this past 12 months.
I'm sure a blues lawyer will be around soon enough to overpay for that tele!
Tht is a piece of history. Tele is my most favourite and One of the greatest guitars.

Rightfully so, you can tell Norm is so very proud of these guitars. He's almost like a little old lady showing off her ceramic collection. Lol.
Outstanding video..great stuff.historic...love that sturdy display tabte too.

With lil bit history and pass on info is gold on top. You should try Norm. 🙏
Norm is killing it
Thanks Norm ⚓️

Would love to have the prices included... That would probably cut the views short!
I’ll take that ‘62 Jag please
We just got in some Tom Murphys that are beautiful, here is a '66 Strat that's beat up but player grade. 😆
That Epiphone 12 string is sweet
That bass is purty!

The English guy needs to stop interrupting Norm

The peanut gallery was hard to handle in this one.
Love the Tele,
looks like Norm raided Fretted Americana. I recognize some of their stock
Great that it's old, but more importantly, how's it sound and how's it play?

It's a bolt on neck piece of ash wood with strings on it. My boy friend bought one exactly like this for $400. Could be this one?

lots of fakes out there.
Can someone please explain why the P bass thumb rest is on the bottom of a right hand bass?
The british are suckers for epiphones lol and i love them too, dont really know why
How does one find these on your site? I haven't been able to see them on there.
That guy getting on my nerves butting in all the time on Norm .I would poison his Coffee .
Any idea how much the 66 strat was selling for ?
I want that 66 Stratocaster...

Wow American dream 🇺🇸
Hey Norm I love ya ok but, lord have mercy will you save some for the rest of us!!!
Wow I’d hate to see the price tags on them
Joe B. will buy it
I want that telli so bad.
Dig a non reverse headstock on a reverse firebird
This could be the first Telecaster ever made, it's number 942...
Telecasters follow the numeration from BroadCasters and NoCasters
@@celi0., I know. It was a joke.
Mark did a review of the peanut 🥜
So wait, you're telling me the owner of a vintage guitar store bought more vintage guitars? *mindblown*
