Some of these brands cut out the middle man. Filippo Loretti cut out the watch maker.
🤣🤣🤣
They even cutted out the final consumer.
Lolll
fucking dead💀💀💀
And for many customers they cut out the watch entirely since so many don't even receive their watch.
This reminds me of the little girl selling lemonade for $100 per cup. When the customer said “$100 per cup?, how many cups can you sell at that price?” She confidently replied “I only need to sell ONE.”
There was also that story about a tomato seller who sold his tomatoes at overinflated prices. A customer asked him why his tomatoes cost so much, he told him that "That's the amount of money I need".
That is incredibly sloppy packaging.
Cutting out the boxmen.
@@MJFallout solid War Dogs reference right there
To the layperson, this looks borderline luxurious. These guys are great at marketing.
@@Mario_N64 "Luxurious"?! No it doesn't.

Packaging is more than adequate for the price paid!
The reason why it took so long is because they had to construct a Shenzhen Province in Hongkong first.
????? That is the dumbest shit I have ever heard some one say.
And move the Apple manufacturing plant from Shenzhen the city in China to this new Shenzhen province in Hongkong
I fucking laughed hard at that hahaha
Shenzen is pretty close to Hong Kong, so…

25 November 2020: they ship the watch
Coincidence? I think NOT! 😂
You have got a point methinks
*H M M M M . . .* 🕵
I guess somebody stop them on the street randomly to tell them 😂
The second "disc" in the middle that keeps ticking without a hand is bothering me more than I care to admit.
Lol i couldn't believe it when i saw it, what were they thinking?
Really bothersome. Definitely not luxury.
It looks like it's been broken off - only noticed it while watching the macro footage back so unfortunately didn't mention it in the video
Good spot. This movement has a seconds hand feature but they have obviously decided not to include it in the design by hacking the handstack with a rotating cap. You don't get a bodge like that on a Patek!
Called my AD. Im on the waiting list
If anyone says, “my watch gets tons of compliments” they’re lying. Nobody notices or cares. Only other watch enthusiasts, jewelers or thieves will notice.
You probably don't have or ever had a nice watch. People do notice.
@@robbylebotha Interesting theory. If they notice, they don't care. Four people over 2 years, have said something about mine. Two were watch enthusiasts. Two were jewelers. I notice high end watches, but rarely say something. Again, nobody cares except for watch enthusiasts. My own wife says that if she didn't know how much my watch costs, she wouldn't think that it was valuable.
@@binyamj they do notice.! What in the world are you talking about? Are you on any medication?
@@max7even284 What watch do you have that gets more compliments
The only thing I think is, 'Why are you wearing a watch?'
No second hand... one way to eliminate a poor alignment, I guess.
Worse yet, it doesn't even look like they fully removed the seconds hand. You can see the metal piece in the middle is still ticking 7:06 . Looks like they just cut it off LOL
what alignment, they don't even have a minute track :D
Yeah, having no seconds hand would naturally eliminate the need to have second markers but this watch doesn't even have minute markers. Guess they had to compensate for the oversized lugs by saving material somewhere else.
@1:43 "manufactured in the global technology hub of Shenzhen province, Hong Kong". Lol Shenzhen is a city not a province, and it's in Guangdong province. Which is China, not Hong Kong. Amateurs!

Fillipo Loteri ads be like: "Do you know luxury watches always have 10x the price of that they actually cost to produce? What a ripped off! Buy our watches and let it be 100x!"
100% agreed. I received one to review on WYCA. Did the shoot. Found comparable issues with the watch. They got quite upset when I compared it to other watch brands, to the point where it simply wasn't worth the hassle to deal with it. I also decided that I had no interest in giving them any publicity and opted not to publish the review. Terrible business practices and dishonest marketing.
Good video Ben, really enjoyed it.
Filippo Loretti about as Italian as a vindaloo.
Vindaloo Loretti. That is their newest model.
Made in China - owned by Lithuania.
Actually, vindaloo is closer (geographically) to Italian than you might think. Vindaloo is a permutation of the Portuguese "vinho de algo" or garlic and wine marinating process common to Portuguese cuisine.
So Vindaloo Loretti may be considered a great Luso-Indian-Italian product!
Funny how you spelled it Loretti, because that's how an actual Italian name would be spelled. So they even got their fake Italian name wrong.
Nothing is tackier than using a non-existent person for a brand in general.
Like Daniel Wellington for that matter
@@mkjk2534 ahhh yes, named after a man who probably exists.. in Mars

WOWOWO WAIT!
THERE'S A SECOND HAND!!!
They just cut it? WTF?
I saw it too but I did not sure it is like other watches or this is new thing! Is it awkward?
@@saeed_tavakoli I have 2 watches (not mine) powered by Esa quartz movements (cheap swiss made). They don't have any "ghost" second hand.
True, I hadn't noticed it. That's really odd and not a very good sign IMHO.
Its a stock movement that comes with the centre second mechanism that they tried to hide with a small cap.
I think they tried to eliminate the ticking second hand so it doesn't look so "quartz" but mechanical you know what i mean?
If you wear the watch with the Basilica di San Marco side showing, people might stop you in the street to ask about the watch.
I got one of these watches as a gift, the one I received had two straps: a leather one such as Yours, and a metal one with a clasp. Both broke in
Brought you by Alibaba, ancient merchants association of Florence
Just another crappy MVMT/Vincero style company. For the price, pure trash.
Are we skipping over the fact that the watch has a centre seccond hand and they just put a flat disc on it with the hand bit cut off so you have a spinning circle in the middle of the watch?
Really great video! Hilarious that its not Italian.
My mate in China has an Italian great grandfather . He's more Italian than that watch .
Hey It's the Retro Future, Fancy seeing you here.
The packaging is embarrassing and must have been packaged in someone's kitchen.
That Casio 4:52 is a stunner and definitely better finishing.
Did I see a rotating second hand blanking disc where a second would be attached on a different Fillipo model? Is this normal practice? Great review as usual, Casio Duro all day long!
I think they put that rotating disc to change the second hands? For minimalist design i suppose.
You did indeed!
You did and it's ugly. Not normal for luxury.
They are cutting out the second hand. It's 2/3rds the number of hands compared to a competitor watch and they pass the savings on to YOU!
@@j.b.w. great comment, and you're right they literally cut the second hand 🤣
Italian luxury made in China and sold by Lithuanians lol
And worn by tossers 😂
So true

@@marcocastagnetti7086 why should you be surprised when 75 million voted for Trump?
@Selim Mašić nope! He‘s right.
That cut off seconds hand makes me laugh...just a tiny disk ticking.
I'd rather not have a second hand if it doesn't hit the indexes, which cheap watches never get right
@@muhammadali.8170 I agree, but then they shouldn’t have but a revolving disc that’s only a second hand clipped off. They could’ve easily found a 2 hander quartz movement for about the same price.
@@Agrippa31BC Well, it appears Filippo is just another hype fashion watch brand, much like mvmt. I honestly like the design of this watch, but all this potential just had to go down the drain for the sake of making more money. Using a mecha quartz movement could've justified it's price, and would've actually make this a great watch
Cutting out the middleman and also the second hand. 😉
In a world where increasingly, perception is more important than reality, this is the shit that happens.
A philosopher may say that perception is reality
@@Puddlesoak and they'd be incorrect.
This isn't a moonphase, moonphase movement 'tracks' moon movement. This is just a night and day aka 24hour function hahaha! Scammer brand! I loved your videos
In all fairness, this seems to be one of the better looking fashion watches out there. The fact that they cut off the second hand and the disc is still ticking in the middle is quite a thing though. Decisions were made!
I'd still say Nautica watches made by Timex are of higher quality, and design wise, Boss watches made by Movado might be nicer looking.
Thing is though for the price you could get a seiko 5
If I were to do away with the second hand, I would do what Bulova does.
I'm pretty sure they actually sent you something just because of your RUclips channel
I hope Ben will wear them for a weak and report back on how many compliments he got on them.
😂😂😂
How ironic that they claim to cut out the middle man when their entire company is a middle man.
That probably the reason why they dont send it, because the cut of the middle man 😂
in italian it would be splet Loretti. that single T really hurts my eyes
I saw the thumbnail, and immediately clicked and thought “oooh boy, this is gonna be good.”
Thanks, almost fell for the nice looking watches, I would be pissed with that wait time.
Wait.. THEY JUST CUT OFF THE SECOND HAND
LMAOOO
If they could just be honest and say it's an affordable watch and lower the price, they would have been respectable. Look at the likes of Timex, a good selection of affordable watches which I feel are highly respected amongst watch enthusiasts.
Timex and respected in one sentence doesn't go together
@@jedrzejkasprzak9659 Only watch snobs and Rolex fanboys hate on Timex. It does look nice. Chinese manufacturing has come a long way. These should sell for 70 or 80 dollars, that's a good price with still a big profit.
Handled one and they are as cheap as the price suggests. They should be cheaper! Get what you pay for and if you are spending that on a watch, buy Japanese 🤔
Seiko 5 are great automatic movement for half the price
6:06 I've got exactly this watch, and the crown doesn't have this weird star symbol, but a simple F in relief on it... I guess they ran out of stock so they turned to another cheap crown with a simple symbol

@@pb8876 You mean when I bought it ? It was at the very beginning of their campaign, the idea was interesting, I wanted a good looking watch for an affordable price so I wouldn't have to wear my Omega everyday. Nobody had made any deep investigation on their company, I didn't have time to do a proper one myself, and there wasn't many complaints about delivery issues at the time.
I didn't believe in the "luxury watch" thing, but the watch was pretty enough for me regarding the price. And indeed I received it quite late, but I feel lucky compared to other people as I received it 1 and a half month after ordering it.
That closeup shot of the Casio says it all.
'Hoowww much wooood yew paye for a lug-shure-ee wadch'
A very good review Ben, thanks for showing the positives as well as the negative items. It's unfortunate that so may people may get sucked into the marketing hype and pay a lot of money for something that is ultimately cheap, bad experiences last and unfortunately that can result in putting people off a better watch purchase due to that bad bad experience. I'm not knocking cheap and cheerful watches at all, it's just disappointing that some who have a wad of cash have the marketing clout make a huge fortune selling these items at a huge mark up with arguably false information.
There's no positives regarding this shitter!
These companies order their watches from a Far East manufacturer, slap on their name, promote it with a fancy ad campaign, mark up the sale price by 1000% or more over cost, and--heres the kicker--any claim to "cutting out the middle man" by way of selling direct instead of retail is negated by the fact that they still have to use the services of a third party courier to ship the damn things, at additional cost to the consumer, of course. MVMT, DW, Loreti, it's all the same bullshit. So, this begs the question... at what point is a middle man cut out?
when you build your own watch piece by piece like johnny cash, but i think you'll have to get a job at a watch factory for access to free parts lol
I don't like how some Chinese brands try to pretend to be from countries that they're not. It's not just watches. Chinese brands like Mumuso (kinda like a dollar store retail chain that's kinda popular in SE Asia) try to pass themselves off as Korean. I mean, the products are ok, but come on. Shameless.
Mumuso sounds like they are trying to pass themselves off as Japanese. Like trying to pass themselves off as Muji or Daiso.
I don't think this is a Chinese operation. They would never spend so much on marketing. The watch is straight from the Ali supplier but they add any name you want on the dial.
@@Sabundy Mumuso is pretending to be Korean while Miniso is pretending to be Japanese.
I feel like Filippo Loreti took the same route as Häagen-Dazs; two brothers who named their company to appeal the masses. The only difference is; one of them failed to meet expectations.
Bottom line: A shit watch at an insanely high price
Fillipo Loretti. Just ‘a like ‘a ma mamma used to make ‘a.
Great video. Way to expose this company. Nice to see an honest look at a company to help unsuspecting victims of the brand’s unethical marketing practices.
I think if this brand sells their watches as affordable fashion watches in the first place, and selling them for like $100-200 bracket, it could've been a successful brand.
Nice shout out to Watchfinder for their B-roll. That channel manages to feature some of the classiest macro video shots I've ever seen while literally reading out shitpost level funny commentary. It just keeps getting better, much like your channel has over the last year or so.
I almost back their kickstarter campaign and I'm glad I didn't
Filippo Loreti. Cut out the middle men to deliver luxury watches. At the same time they are the middle men between alibaba and their customer. They became the very thing they swore to destroy...

@@graciousideals1509 that was brilliant!
Looks like they cut the second hand to make it look like a 2 hand watch 🤔
They probably picked their name on purpose very similar to Philip Watch, a real Italian brand
Or maybe they copied Franchi Menotti, a real Italian brand that is now defunct.
7:24 That ticking second hand pivot with no hand is hilarious. I guess that has something to do with the new definition of luxury they're advertising.
That MVMT one you showed at the end looks like my $10 (£6) banger made from kinda painted die cast and the thin stainless steel back on it. And about as light as cardboard.
MVMT do seem to use all stainless steel cases, although they're the cheapest ones.
Very fair and honest review of what is, frankly, a joke of a company and almost fraudulent as well. Actually, based on the number of complaints of non receipt, definitely fraudulent. Avoid! Kudos on the review and vid though 👍😊
Every time when somebody bought watch like this, one little soul of watch industry dies and children of the world would cry.
My thoughts exactly!
Congratulations on getting a working watch. However, please keep in mind you did order a quartz, and those are far less likely to have an issue apart from the hands falling off maybe. Would've been great to see you review the automatic version of that Venice model instead with the joys of the maybe it works/rotates for a while and maybe it doesn't customized 24 hour day and night wheel, or maybe discovering yours installed so the day and night are 12 hours off based on when the date ticks over. (The one in the quartz is the one that comes with the movement.) Got to love that they're still selling these despite originally selling them as a limited edition.
Dang Ben we upload vids on the same day about FL? What are the odds?! Haha, great review. I had refused to review their quartz ones but seeing two of their automatics in hand I would say this: you can get something else for the money but if you love the watch, just wait to buy one used for a reasonable price and you won’t have issues with shipping wait times.

Actual quote from Filippo Loreti, 1926
Why didn't they just come up with some bullshit about how it's inspired by the Baltic sea or something like that instead of the whole Italian outright lie? I don't think it actually would've affected their sales.
I got 2 watches from them after the kickstarter period because they sponsored a RUclipsr I like. Using the promo code and some other sale they were doing at the time I was able to get 2 watches for about $100USD. I think for $50 per watch, they are fine. I wouldn't buy another one though, and I especially wouldn't buy one for more than $50.
I personally dont care if a kickstarter project is late. they always are. I dont care if the box comes in damaged. I only care about the watch and I'll chuck the box as soon as i get the watch out. That being said. IF I PAID FOR 5-11 DAY SHIPPING I BETTER GET IT BETWEEN THAT TIME FRAME!!!!!! lol

I can tell at a glance that the craftsmanship and attention to detail put into the production of this video far exceeds the minimalist efforts put forth to cut out any middle men between its original manufacturing location, China, to Lithuania, to your ultimate location in the UK. Great review!
To be brutally honest with you for that price I would much rather buy something like a Michael kors, which is a name brand hand bag company or a watch from someone like that that has name value and probably the same, if not better craftsmanship that a watch like this, I’ve never had any issues with either my mk watch or my Kenneth Cole, and they both keep great time

i ordered them in november 2017, over a year later in 2018 probably sometime in the summer, I had to call my bank and file a claim for the purchase and shipping I paid extra for. Their customer service reps were all automated emails and when I used their facebook messaging service, they told me the update was on their facebook page. so instead of getting an email, I had to get told through their fb message chat to go follow their private page, wait to get requested and then see an update that said there is a delay. which was the 10th time they probably had a delay. I reviewed them 2 times negatively on trust pilot but they tried to reply and act like there was a misunderstanding. smh they try too hard to cover their image but do not care to give their products out. 100% not worth.
