I crossed paths with you in Granite Chief, your Day 75, my Day 6 CCW on the TRT! Didn't know it was such a big day for you! The next day I would decide to DNF (injury), and spent the full Day 8 hiking off-trail around Fontanillis, then one final epic day through DW and off trail at Echo Lakes to catch the 4th fireworks from Van Sickle Trail. I'll be back to knock out those last 40mi on the south end. I started out on a 29.9mi day (origin of said injury), and somehow I had absolutely zero interest in doing another 0.1! 😅 🤷♂️
I love watching adventure videos, it gets me motivated to get out and explore the world. So much so that after multiple national parks and amazing trails, I’m currently planning out and deciding to backpack across the US West-East. Watching you and how you enjoy your stays and travels and watching the beauty that surrounds you just makes life feel like a gift
Hey Arielle! Your TRT videos were some of my recon homework in preparing for my TRT thru this summer... Love that you're back "home" and getting to see what Dick's Pass looks like 2 months later is pretty cool - snowy still, but a lot easier to make out the trail, so that's cool. Keep up the awesome work, and best of luck and health on the trail - you're making great strides! Thank you for the inspiration!! -Inigo Montoya
Making super progress. I've been connected to Donner Lake for 69 years as we still have a cabin at the west end of the lake. My wife enjoyed watching this too. Love your attitude.
In my opinion, you're in the best part of the Sierras now. Really enjoy your videos. You, Sam, and the whole crew are an inspiration. As always, thank you for bringing us along!
This July I went on a backpacking trip in desolation wilderness starting from Echo Lake. Such a beautiful area!! I saw so many PCT hikers on that trail!
I wonder if my name is still up on top of Pyramid Peak? I guess I should climb it again and check. There was a coffee can, at least I think it was a coffee can under some rocks. It had paper and pencils in it. My dad and I climbed it in '83. Hard to not love Desolation Wilderness with its brilliant glaciated granite, gnarled pine trees, Chipmunks, mule ear.
Another great episode! I love and miss the Tahoe area. Looks like you went through/near Squaw Valley(palisades). Keep it up and I am looking forward to next week. I camp on the McCloud River every year which you will hit in a week or two probably! Have fun and be safe!
Quick question Arielle, the excel video you made before starting - detailing where to send packages, total days hiking etc, how is your projection comparing to reality on trail? I saved that video in my downloads folder - hoping to use it when we're attempting our thru-hike.
Woohoo 16! Desolation wilderness is my favorite part of the TRT for obvious reasons! Love the view on the top of dick's pass. You're awesome! Keep going strong!
I'm so excited for May 2023 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Awesome views on this episode, and great mileage!!! 🥾🥾🥾🥾.
Cruising right along!! :)
