Actually, I think THAT GUY is not using his head. He does not appreciate the safe, prosperous life Israel gives him. He does not appreciate that in 2020 he's going to be one of the first people in the world to get a vaccine. He can always move to "not believe" in the state, lets say in Syria.. I'm a Turkish. We didn't grow up by being learnt Israel is enemy. Because of some politics reasons and politicians, people in Turkey becomes enemy of Turkey. But I'll tell honestly. Now I live in Philippines. And many Israeli live and work here. They are very kind without prejustice. Very friendly. And they are not people that I see on the street or in malls. And I have some Israeli friends. They are good as well. They tell me different and good stories than what we know from Turkey So what I mean is that Israel and Israeli have bad reputation. Druze are our brothers. When I first came to Israel from the U.S, the first friend I made was Druze, as neither of us spoke Hebrew well enough to be in the normal classes. I befriended a lot of Druze growing up, as I somewhat felt like an outsider, being American. I have nothing but respect for them and their culture. They are loyal, humble patriots who fight for, protect and love Israel. Shalom!
The way you ask the question makes it seem like you're telling them that because they're Arab you assume they feel they don't belong in Israel. You seem to ask in surprise why they would love a country in which you assume they're not welcome. I frequent Israel and love the diverse people and cultures. At times I will stay in the Arab district of Old Jerusalem and most of the Arab's love Israel but this doesn't mean there are no complaints. Like all governments Israel has corruption and the cost of living is high as hell. This cost of living expense is a serious problem as it keeps median wage earners from enjoying a comfortable living.

Why didn't you translate the part where one of the participants (the last one) expresses his fear regarding talking about this issue on public? For those of you who aren't that familiar with the situation here: The Palestinian society inside Israel had suffered from discrimination, racism and suppressing human rights since 1948. Along these violations of the basic human rights, one of the main effects it had on us is the fear of publicly "shaming" the country or the "system". I'm pretty sure most of the people answered this question in a sort of an automatic way in front of the camera to avoid being sucked into more problems with the authorities. To be honest and to try not to distort the reality, it's not that every one who speaks against the system is targeted. But history has taught us that if they target you, you're literally fucked. So most people (especially those who are not that politicized) just try to avoid any kind of criticism and simply display their fake loyalty as an automatic response.

I feel like this is what many people in some other countries would say. My country‘s national religion is Buddhism, and any government schools teach Buddhism. I studied in a Catholic school which is private. And most Muslim schools despite being supported by the government, they are not big or famous schools. But, we all understand that and don’t think about it. We don’t really care much whether people we interact with are Buddhists, Muslims, Christians or etc. My country has also been facing a terror attack from a religious group for many decades, but people just understand that the problem comes from that group not the majority of people in that religion.

I befriended a lot of Druze growing up, as I somewhat felt like an outsider, being American. I have nothing but respect for them and their culture. I frequent Israel and love the diverse people and cultures. At times I will stay in the Arab district of Old Jerusalem and most of the Arab's love Israel but this doesn't mean there are no complaints. Like all governments Israel has corruption and the cost of living is high as hell. This cost of living expense is a serious problem as it keeps median wage earners from enjoying a comfortable living.

It is not true that Arabs can get into high tech, only the ones that don't know Hebrew. About your schools, why should you go to a separate school in the first place? Come to regular school, learn to speak Hebrew correctly, get to know some different cultures and integrate yourself in the diverse Israeli society. The people interviewed are israely arabs. They reside in israel and are full fladged israeli citizens.
Their opinion is (sometimes) different from that of muslim and christian Palestinians in the occupied territories because they (luckily) are not subjected to the inhumane treatment that their brothers and sisters are subjected to over there: random land and house expropriations, terrorism by Jewish settlers, human rights violations by the IDF, discrimination in water allocation, checkpoints, curfews, etc. etc.

I feel like this is what many people in some other countries would say. My country‘s national religion is Buddhism, and any government schools teach Buddhism. I studied in a Catholic school which is private. And most Muslim schools despite being supported by the government, they are not big or famous schools. But, we all understand that and don’t think about it. We don’t really care much whether people we interact with are Buddhists, Muslims, Christians or etc. My country has also been facing a terror attack from a religious group for many decades, but people just understand that the problem comes from that group not the majority of people in that religion.
