The Pagemaster is a 1994 action platforming video game based on the live-action/animated film of the same name. In it, the player plays as the main protagonist with levels based on different literature pieces.
Induviel ( tasvideos.org/... ) completes the game in record time.
You know a game is gonna be good when the first thing you see when starting a level is “get ready for the torture chamber”
It was referring to the game in general.
“Get Ready for End Credits”
Oh shit here we gooooooo
This game looks like it’s game over screen would just be still text of the word ‘whoops’
I remember _reading_ The Pagemaster as a kid. It was a large book, and beautifully illustrated.
That’s all.
Ah yes, games without boss fights and no congratulations or thank you for playing the game, my favorite.
Skipped right to the final boss and ending to see what I missed. My disappointed is immeasurable and my day is well done.
That must be the most limp ending I have seen in a long while.....
You get one ominous music note and an extremely judgmental face.
As a treat.
It looks more like it's passive-aggressively mocking you for playing for so long.
"Wow, congrats, you finished this fucking monstrosity. Would you like a medal, or perhaps your time back?"
Listen man I don't make the rules, all I know is that if you're a mediocre media property in the 1990s, they are going to make a crummy platformer based on you.
Another great mark of quality?
-made ONLY for the Game Boy Advance... And Game Boy Color... And GameCube. And Playstation 2. And XBox. And PC.
And NGage.
And if youre a popular video game franchise, when it gets televised it sucks
Of course theres exceptions to these rules, see goldeneye 007 on n64
Loved that dumb movie as a kid lol
@@Atylonisuslet’s not forget the Atari jaguar
I remember watching my brother play the Genesis version of this game as a kid.
You got the eggs
I owned this game as a kid but never beat it until adulthood. A decent platformer with a terribly underwhelming ending.
idk why i watched all this xD
The Sprintmaster
This kid got hops lol
"GET READY FOR THE TORTURE CHAMBER" should have been the loading screen for this entire game, if I'm being frank.
I've never seen a SNES game with such long loading times
coincidentally this is exactly how i remember the movie
I do not remember this movie at all.
This game is almost nothing like the movie except for the characters and visuals.
Lol I have the movie on DVD. I love it as a kid, okay as a adult.
Unfortunately the biggest thing going for it (besides the live-action/animation mix which wasn't even very novel at this point) was the celebrity casting. Most of the names are still recognizable today:
* Macaulay Culkin near the end of his career breakout following the Home Alone movies (he would only do Ritchie Ritch after this movie).
* Christopher Lloyd (Mr. Dewey/the Pagemaster)
* (Sir) Patrick Stewart (Adventure)
* Whoopi Goldberg (Fantasy)
* Frank Welker (Horror)
* Leonard Nimoy (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde)
* Jim Cummings (Long John Silver)
* Phil Hartman (Tom Morgan)
and as a bonus Robert Picardo (best known as Star Trek Voyager's EMH) voiced one of the pirates in this movie
Give a hoot. Read a book!
SNES loading
Wow, I didn’t think the SNES version could be even worse than the Genesis version: it was already so bad. 😂
Huh?
how to make 30 levels from 3:
Looking at this game as an adult, I'm glad i beat this as a kid 'cause WOOF this game's freaking mid! Lmao
You know a game is boring if even the TAS looks boring
Game Off Player One. 😐
