Hope you enjoy this World Record speedrun of Virtual Bart for Sega Genesis (save the animals 16:10). I just want to say, **** this game. It is comprised of 6 abominable mini-games that have horrendous controls, pitiful design, and are just tedious on top of it. The Tomato throwing level is pretty fun, honestly. But you can't hit anybody throwing left! so 1/3 of the screen is unusable!
This is my best time so far, but man did I bomb the last stage (motorcycle stage) and even had a death. But there are a number of things that I likely couldn't do better with the amount of time. Note the 1-cycle frozen pigs. And the final egg on Nelson. And even a little glitch here and there. Oh well, I will keep bringing it down lower. I've got a couple minutes I can still cut.This game is really painful. Hope someone is appreciating this

Nice run!!! :D did my speedrun of Virtual Bart for SNES inspire you to make this whole channel? LOL. I'm curious, do you know if it's easier to 1-cycle the ice cubes on Genesis compared to Super Nintendo? I've never played the Genesis version of the game. I practiced that part on emulator on SNES for a while. I felt like there was almost no room for error, a few movements that had to be performed within a frame or two. I consider myself a decent gamer, on SNES I felt like my best effort was still a couple of frames behind. Anyway... nice run. I'm updating the description on my video to give more context as to why I did the run and uploaded it. I agree, this game is really painful.
Hey! I do believe it's easier to 1 cycle the ice on snes, the claw seems more forgiving lol. I played virtual bart since the 90s and was the only person I knew who could even beat 1 mini game lmao. I saw your run and noticed hardly anybody speedruns it (especially on genesis) so I put together some runs

TIL: You could throw the tomatoes/egg left or right. I alway did the center and ran out of time!
Ryan Coogler for some reason, on the Genesis version, you can’t even hit it on the left, while you can hit it middle or right. But the SNES version let you hit it on the left, middle and right.
Whats annoying at the end is it haangs on a cliffhanger.
The first time I beat the game, I thought I was going to play as Homer next..

The SNES version is much more difficult.
@@MarkeSTP I agree. It feels less finished/ polished than the sega version. Then theres the pig stage, where you cant jump across the gaps at the elevator. And theres no floor at the bottom of the elevator which is so unnecessary lol
@@thatwasntworthit It's probably like that, the part with the balls and baby Bart was extremely difficult for me and playing it with an emulator took me 2 days to get through that part. I finished it yesterday and that's why I started looking for videos of what it was like on SEGA.

Throwing tomatoes was the most fun part to be honest... but since we're being honest... there's never really been a "good" Simpsons game ever in my opinion

@@hipsterelephant2660 true... I forgot about the old arcade cabinet... that game ate quarters like crazy but it was pretty dope... I'll admit that was one of the good ones
