The amount of missed parry's in this video physically hurt me. Actually was tilted a lot of the time through this video.
I just love the escalation in this game.
Bloodborne in the first 5 seconds: "Hello new player. do you see those basic looking deranged villager enemies? go and kill them. don't worry, they are really easy even at level 1."
Bloodborne 10 minutes later: *"See that Eldrich Abomination that is known as God in the game's lore floating in the sky? kill it. be careful, it uses galaxies as projectiles and the sun as a melee weapon."*

That's pretty fucked up, and I love it.
That first boss has one of the most terrifyingly painful screams i have ever heard.

Literally
For Cleric Beast, when he does the animation where he pulls in energy, heals his limbs, if you throw a molotov at his face while the animation is going you will stun him. Opens him up for a veseral attack. Just in case it helps anyone.

@@desmondcoppin591 No he means the cleric beast. It sometimes does a weird thing where it sucks in energy or something and during the animation the head is exposed. It gives it a little damage buff and if you broke any limbs, which makes it vulnerable, they repair.
Vicar Amelia sometimes does it too but the head is higher up and harder to hit. She does it less often as well.

I always found this funny about these kinda games. Gigantic enemies that you deal no visible damage to whatsoever, until they just all of a sudden drop dead after you've been beating on their leg for three years.

I think the Bloodborne bosses are more terrifying than the Dark Souls bosses.

Bloodborn is very easy compared to Dark Souls 3. I did DS3 first and I was kinda surprised when I played Bloodborn next.

@@declicitous1763 I haven't played bloodborne but from my understanding it's when the enemy is shot at the right time or stunned from a heavy attack and a brief pause in the fight occurs and a noise plays and the the player can perform a special move on the enemy for a ton of damage kinda like a repost if you have played a dark souls game

Bloodborne was my first "Dark souls" game. Loved it. Well, still love it.
How much did it took you to beat the game?
@@smoker5989 To be honest I never actually beat it yet. I think the last boss I beat was that scythe guy on the roof of that castle. I know that because I played it last when my cousins were here, and I beat it faster than one of them did, heh.
I had also beat that monster that came out of the moon, and my cousin said that was pretty close to the end of the game.
I've meant to go back to it and almost did not too long ago, but I've been distracted with other stuff and playing other games.

Though it should be fine. I could just play a bit as another character first.
Another thing I did in the game (which is probably partly why I never beat it) was make multiple characters that prioritized specific weapons.
I thought the weapons in that game were really cool so I wanted to use all of them. (Or some atleast, plus I like making characters) For example, my main guy had that Axe that turned into a spear I think, I had a girl who used the cane whip, and so on.

Dark Souls is a very different type of fantasy so it doesnt need this kind of atmosphere.
The abhorrent beast is absolutely brutal - like fighting Gascoigne's second form for a full battle.
Marko Nikolic Could not agree more. Abhorrent Beast might be the most underrated boss. Just so fast and the timing of his moves are tough to read when trying to dodge.
+Boss Fight Database i think he is fairly easy to read tbh and if your having trouble back the hell up and wait for him to do his charge/jump then dodge and pummel him a bit i agree about hos close quarters attacks as he barely leaves himself open and smashes you though

I immediately liked when I noticed he held a torch during Blood Starved Beast. I've played this almost since release, and never thought about doing that. He's a lot creepier with a torch lol.

Yeah, it's one of the most fucked up designs I've seen in a long time. Just bodies mashed together from another dimension, like some other beings idea of what humanity is.
+Marth I think Ludwig's design in the DLC trumps The One Reborn's Design. He's magnificently grotesque and terrifying.
+hitdoctor24 I agree, Ludwig was pretty gruesome and was a total bitch to fight as well. He made up for "The one reborns" rather lackluster boss fight, despite his grizzly appearance. Plus Ludwig gets an enchanted sword, and that's awesome.

@@Lady_Maria-2007 Even though I made this comment 5 years ago, I think what I meant was that there's a LOT of variety in the animation. Every boss has tons of attacks, same can be said for the enemies. It's always been this way, ever since Demon's Souls.

I am so proud i managed to beat all these bosses. If anyone remembers that chalice that halves your life and sends you to the watchdogs. This was probably the most frustrating moment of all my life in gaming. Took me so much time but in the end it was so satisfying. Thank you FromSoftware
try the cursed chalice where your health is quartered, and you have to fight the amygdala with doubled health. Out of my 200-300 hours in the dungeons I think that was my hardest fight simply because it was a 1 hit ko.
Nothing will ever feel as awesome. Breathtaking and scary as my first bloodborne playthru in 2015.... never. It was my first encounter with a true action game. And i'll never feel as much fear for another action souls like. As i did then

Watching Gascoigne's fight, I'd love it if From could release a patch that more effectively matches up the music to the procedural stage of the fight. The delay in the transition to Gascoigne's third theme takes some of the impact out.

In Dark Souls, you fear the enemies.
But in Bloodborne, YOU ARE FEAR.
Tip while fighting the witch of hemwik. If you have no insight, no phantoms will spawn. You can accomplish this by starting the battle, use a bold hunters mark, spend insight, and the come back.
not like the spawns add much to the difficulty :/

Despite Rom not being the most intimidating or challenging fight, it was the first fight that officially made me uneasy, and very mystified in a world I don't understand. The music told it all.

It's funny, I'm only watching this because I find the monsters and the whole world of Bloodborne, just fascinating. Something very mystical about it that I'm drawn to. I will probably never have the patience to play the game myselfl, though. Cheers for the video!
I thought the same thing, but that high you get after beating a boss…you end up chasing it over and over again.
Good video and I also have a tip if you don't mind taking those to mind.
You don't always have to swing your weapon at every chance you get, especially when your stamina is going to be 0 right after that swing. Try to leave "some" stamina for a dodge or two after a swing so that you can react accordingly once the enemy retaliates. It'll save you tons of blood vials and probably make the fight easier overall because you'll be spending less time backing up to heal.
Also, if this game follows the same stamina rule as the previous souls games, you can actually get into "negative" stamina which slows your stamina regeneration. Slower stamina regeneration = less attacks you can throw in over time. I still need to test this out for myself though when I get the chance.

The blood starved beast is the only boss that doesn't want to kill you out of evil, or defensive motive, but bc it's thirsty and needs to quench itself.

I never really got to appreciate the ost’s during the boss fights because of being so focused on not dying
I remember the first time fighting the damn cleric beast and father gascoigne. The rage i had.
For me, Vicar Amelia was one of the harder bosses. One tip I learned from the fight is not to give her to much space, the is because she will start healing and it would bring back 1/4 of her health.
Yeah I remember when my dad was trying to beat her and she kept healing and I was just watching like 😮
With Beast Blood Pellets and Fire Paper I just spammed R1 at her Arms and legs and killed her in 20 seconds

I felt so bad for that Cleric Beast in this fight!
The Bloodstarved Beast took me ages to beat until I realised that he was weak to Fire and Lightning effects. Always handy to stack up on antidotes too, which'll help a bunch when he's spitting poison at you.

Really wish many of these bosses were a part of the main story. Having a story line or link in about the Pthumerians would’ve been cool, and the beast bosses could’ve easily been added as extra bosses in places like Old Yharnam, Forbidden Woods, or even the Nightmare Frontier, as those areas, at least to me, feel almost too big not to have another boss fight.
Me, watching this to help reduce sensitivity to creepy things: oh this Brainsucker thing doesnt look that creepy. I wonder why he's called Brainsucker
