Runs better and less intrusive for the environment.
    Good idea.
    Nevermind the negative comments.
Modding takes balls and it's honestly easy to do.

First time seriously opening up an electronic device. This video made me realize that I had to unscrew the knobs to get off the board.
    Thank you very much !

Buying rechargable batteries suggested for the tame of heart. I love mine. I just use rechargeable 2100 Nmh Eneloops. You can play a long time on 6. And I have the 6 watt 103 ext cab and it will run 2 days without shutting it off, then I just put more charged ones in. I have cord that came with my combo, but I just love being able to move around and jam

does the cord charge the batteries inside the amp or is it for a different purpose?

I thought about using an external power bank. It's a great idea to modify it if you like tinkering with stuff and you have all the equipment otherwise just use it at the wall or buy a rechargeable amp like the Nu-x Mighty Air.

I lost the manual, Can I ask how the power supply adapter works? Because I can't use it without battery if I use DC. Thanks

I have to say you did it wrong because the amp requires a 7.2v to 9v pack to work propertly not 3.7v battery my friend you probably figured it out after using it with that.
The battery is fine, you had to buy a step up voltage board that make 3.7v go up to 9v so u can use all the power.
Now all youre using is 15%20% of the power of speaker unfortunately.
You can also buy a 9v lithium too.
Edit : Cant believe you cant hear the amp being distorted with lack of power

hi, im planing to replace the existing AA pack box with 9v holder box, is it safe just to reconnect those two wires from AA box to the 9v holder box connector? thankyou

    • @Staples1010
      @Staples1010  2 года назад

I think it would be safe but I don't think a 9v would have the capacity or peak discharge to work very well, it could be worth testing though? I would assume that the amp would cut out at loud volume/heavy playing but not sure...

This way too technical for me to trust myself in putting this back correctly and not breaking it. Not to mention all this work. I like simplicity, like rechargeable batteries. This video is definitely for tech nerds.

I Busk in the Spring and Summer with the Fly 3.
Based on the battery life of cheap AA batteries (I keep records), I figure it will cost me $40 from May to September.
This is not a lot of money. Your idea is fun, but way too much effort.

Or you can spend 14 bucks and get an adapter

Seriously?!!!! ROFL. FFS Just buy x6 Panasonic 2450mAh Eneloop Pro NiMh LSD NiMH AAs (Made in Japan). If > capacity is required, but a second set of x6. Fly 3 operates at nominal 6.4V DC input power, so no need for all this shenanigans.

There are certainly many ways you could achieve similar results, personally I didn't want to use AAs and get an AA battery charger, plus I already had most of the components laying around. For the most part, I just wanted to try a DIY approach because it's interesting to me! Feel free to use AAs in your Fly 3, I'm not saying my way is the best way, and I've already been told there's a rechargable pack available for the Fly so that's another option! Hope whatever you use works for you :D

@@Staples1010 Curious as to what rechargeable pack you are referring to specifically? I have owned/own x2 Fly 3s + a 103 + PSU for 4+ years now and have never heard of one. Unless you're referring to Blackstar's external PB-1, which isn't' voltage compatible with the Fly- and costs more than a Fly! He y its your Fly, do what you want, but your approach makes about as much sense as performing surgery with a shotgun. Pretty much everyone used LSD batteries around the house today. It'd be the oddball who doesn't. Two standard eneloops which come with their charger + one x4 pack (cheapest). Still 2000mAh. Cheap on eBay promo or Amazon. Problem solved.

@@theblytonian3906 I'm not entirely sure of the rechargable pack, it was referred to by another commenter, I can't say I researched it at all... As I said though, my main reason for doing this was because the DIY aspect of the project was interesting to me and I thought it might be of interest to others! Thanks for your suggestions though! I'm sure people will find them useful 😁

Yeah, they'd probably last a little longer but they're also very inconvenient and bad for the environment 🤷‍♂️ my solution isn't perfect but it's a step in the right direction :)
