They're a bit thick! He actually said that "delay was a really random effect to add" I made my mind up on their intelligence levels rigjt there and then! Ha 🤣
I have the Laney Mini Lion ST by one month and half. Good sound for playing different style (not for Metal) but the thing that surprise me was the battery Life. More than I expected
Cheers guys, nice choice for review with that Christmas present money burning a hole :-) I've been tempted by the Laney before, glad to hear the sounds backs up the cool looks. I've seen demos of the app too, it looked like a lot of fun to just 'dial in' a sound when mucking about in the front room .
In my opinion The very BEST battery powerd amp is the Vox Mini5 Rhythm !! Has an integrated fx and drum rythym section ! Best for practice and Busking - even has a Microphone input !
@Tong Zou You must be thinking of a different amp because i currently busk with a vox mini 5 and you have no idea what you're talking about. Boss and blackstar suck. Idk about the laney but seems similar to those two based off this video.
@@mrtambourineman6107 only on Android devices unfortunately, I have an old ipad 4th generation and it plays flawlessly, my note 20 ultra can't handle it, basically it's the only use for this ipad nowadays. 🤣
Why in the hell wouldn't you show the extra feature with the Laney that you could use the IOS to get the sounds of any guitar;. I'm sorry, don't like to complain but this was not a good review whatsoever.
Morte Santa something sounding good or not has a lot to do with effects, they even showed built in effects on each amp so, tone bridge connectivity definitely falls under “do actually they sound any good”.
I bought a Laney mini st lionheart and the front grill wasn't glued in properly and it fell out, along with the speaker cones. The same thing happened with the replacement. Dodgy manufacturing by Laney.
I tried an acoustic guitar only...not an Ukulele yet. You can ear the strings of guitar. Maybe Ukulele is diferent but is not very good for acoustic strings I guess
I have a short scale that I switched to Uke tuning and the best thing I found for it was the Rhino amp sim on IOS then output to an amp or portable speaker. Amazing tone!! Only problem is that it requires an irig or similar device also not very good due to latency in the way android processes audio signal has to be iPhone or IPad.
With the 103 pack. Power supply, 6w stereo amp for a few more bucks .....99$ will buy it today with 2 cabs . You will thank yourself for reading this comment.
I don't get why so many people are horny for the Katana Mini. For the money there's a dozen better options (Blackstar Fly3 with extension speaker for starters). Same for the Yamaha THR5 to be honest.
Worst review I've seen on these amps in particular the Fly3 which is by far the best little amp out there. Great tone, delay and portability without having to pay over the odds or download any apps.
i liked the laney you forgot to mention its stereo, but id love to see the laney lionheart bluetooth mini stack, 4 speakers stereo, i think ive fallen for it...
To me the Fly3 sounds better than the THR10 , except for the Fly OD channel, which sounds too harsh for me , but pushing gain on the clean channel produces a very sweet/musical crunch. I re-sold my THR10 after hours of tweaking in vain to extract any decent sound out of it.
I think this was ok But you missed the whole point. Don't compare products that are double the price. Laney and Blackstar are competitive. If you going to throw in the BK , which is double the price, then best bring in some Vox amps that will blow them all away. Anyway , the Blackstar kills the Laney. So that's the conclusion of this video, BK should be compared to Vox, Yamaha, Fender equivalents, and I would probably still buy the BS anyway . And as for looks, buy a guitar for looks , not an amp.
So glad i got the laney iron heart st mini from rich tone for 29 quid. Was well worth the price. The black star is tinny. And the boss is way over priced.
Why do so many people Talk about the THR5 and 10 on this videos comments? The 5 is four times the price of the Fly3 and the 10 is six times the price. I hope they’re better for that kind of price different. These comments 💯 miss the point of this video.
I've got the Boss Katana Mini. I use the mains power supply with mine at home. Got mine for £81 Great little amp for home practice.
Boss katana mini 3:51
Blackstar 5:55
Laney 8:25
THANKS! HOW I HATE WORTHLESS BLABLA!
If you're making an amp comparison, put the camera such that the amps are fully visible instead of your full faces...
Would definitely prefer to look at the actual amps.
They're a bit thick! He actually said that "delay was a really random effect to add" I made my mind up on their intelligence levels rigjt there and then! Ha 🤣
Not one shot of the controls on any of these little amps - no clue what he was tweaking on the controls - time for a do-over !!!🤔
they are making amp "sound" comparison lol
Laney st is worth the money. The price is fair...
Laney has a massive sound, amazing overdrive, bluetooth, stereo..what else ?
Winner for me ...
Laney doesn't have bluetooth tho
@@ghyno2023 check out laney mini " stb" Bluetooth...

laney mini stack bluetooth is nice
I got mine in the mail today. Seems like junk. I'm sending it back

I've actually gigged with mine believe it or not!!
Are the batteries rechargeable?
Try the Blackstar with a equalizer pedal. It will change the sound completely for better.
Gonna pick one up! any tips for eq settings for humbuckers?
"Delay what a random effect to add ey" - gotta admit I've never heard of it either...
i think the laney is better than the blackstar, also you can get the sound of any guitar with the app

@Adeeb Hasan Laney for sure. Great sound, portable and the gain is not to bad for a little machine
@Adeeb Hasan blackstar 4 sure, the tonebridge amp has a massive signal delay and makes it unplayable
No Roland microcube, no Nux mighty bt..
Yes, the microcube absolutely slaughters them all

The Boss katana on brown channel wit single coils makes a lot of noise.
Laney sounds great! I wonder how the new laney mini stack compares to it
Nice jumper.
I have the laney.i love it. But in battery mode the coupling capacitor cant handle the load and gos into clip.Might open it up and fit a bigger one.
Didn’t show the main selling point of the laney amp - tone bridge. With that feature it’s a no brainer.
Apparently there is a real bad signal delay which makes it unplayable
@@mrtambourineman6107 only on Android devices unfortunately, I have an old ipad 4th generation and it plays flawlessly, my note 20 ultra can't handle it, basically it's the only use for this ipad nowadays. 🤣
How long are the battery life and are the batteries easier to get? Any rechargable batteries?
Roland Micro Cube GX ?
The Laney sounded sweet clean
Yes
i have the fly 3 and Yamaha thr10x love them both. Blackstar just came out w the Superfly 12 watt looks great has vocal channel and guitar channel.
Boss Katana cuts and slices thru the competition like a Samurai.
i have blackstar fly3 and baterry very long drain. with alkaline baterry...1 month no bluetooth
Id say the Yamaha thr10 was the first best battery powered small amp.
Yamaha thr5/10 amps tends to vibrate its metal shell if you crank them up. If they change their material like others use it may be the best imo
I second that, best practice amp I've ever used
Why in the hell wouldn't you show the extra feature with the Laney that you could use the IOS to get the sounds of any guitar;. I'm sorry, don't like to complain but this was not a good review whatsoever.
" Do they actually sound any good? " - I believe the point iis to show the Amp audio power and not the extra features
I completely agree. I don’t know if they even know about it.
Morte Santa something sounding good or not has a lot to do with effects, they even showed built in effects on each amp so, tone bridge connectivity definitely falls under “do actually they sound any good”.
Blackstar alweidz
Was it just me or was the middle one the loudest? Is there an offering with a rechargeable battery and totally wireless.
Is the Laney Mini-ST louder than the Blackstar Fly 3?
Thinking of getting one of these for small singalong gatherings with friends.
I bought a Laney mini st lionheart and the front grill wasn't glued in properly and it fell out, along with the speaker cones. The same thing happened with the replacement. Dodgy manufacturing by Laney.
I like the Pignose and the Vox Mini 3 G2
Pignose is the one to beat
Has anyone tried to play a ukulele with the Laney Mini-ST-Lion? How does it sound?
I tried an acoustic guitar only...not an Ukulele yet. You can ear the strings of guitar. Maybe Ukulele is diferent but is not very good for acoustic strings I guess
@@mortesanta4924works well, just need to adjust level on uke to avoid clipping. Using a small delay helps. I also use this as a keyboard amp.

Hey how would a bass guitar go with these?
Laney make a bass version of this amp, not sure if it’s any good but it’s worth considering
@@guus10I use a vox bass amplug into the Aux in of the mini st. The Laney bass version is just a different preamp but same power amp and speakers.
Anyone used tonebridge? Someone said it was laggy. Im wondering if my local internet would be too slow maybe.....
It seems to only be lagy when using an adapter. There's no lag when using a device with a headphone jack.
Are any of these amps suitable for bass guitars?
For laney mini has bass variation, I don't know about other
The blue tooth fly was never 60. The 5 knob Laney was not 60 either. The 3 knob was 60. Cmon man.
what they sound like with out the mic right in front of them

You just didn't review the Laney properly. LSI is not a backing track function but effects emulation!
Exactly but I believe it also has an auxiliary in so you could run a backing track through it…..but yeah they misspoke
What about nux mighty8
The laney is unreal , two 3watr speakers😂 but a serious tiny amp. I have the super group mini
