How about adding a quick look at a finished carving using these techniques?

Thanks for these videos! So helpful. If you are looking for ideas, I have a couple of ideas that I struggle with. Collars and buttons on shirts, to look real. And hats that look like they are sitting correctly on the head, not too on top. Thanks again!

Not as of yet. Looking to do that sometime in the near future if there is enough interest in it.

I’ve been using your eye videos to make totems as well, practicing right and left eyes. I find symmetry to be the most challenging, but thanks to your videos, my eye carving techniques have improved tenfold!

Glad the videos have been helpful! Symmetry can be tough. Maybe something I should consider making a video on?

@@vankellywoodcarvings yeah, absolutely. If there is anything you can do to help with that. I think it comes down to technique. Personally, I mark my facial lines and then try to carve in between them, but it’s still hard to get those eyes looking the same!
But the videos are amazing for practice and detail. I’d actually love to show you some of the totems I’ve done using your advice!

It looks like you used a DHK knife in this video. What do you like about that knife that makes it different than your others?
