I personally think you make the best desserts, simply amazing, and videos on RUclips, honest, informative, and lovely appearance. You look genuinely happy in your videos, and your kiddos are all kinds of adorable. ☺️ Awesome shirt too! God bless you and your family, love from Kentucky. 💖✝️
Thank you for posting, not just the ingredients, but instructions. So many of these baking videos either don't do either, or just the ingredients. A pain in the neck for me to bake and watch a video on my phone. Plus, I like to read instructions and save for later to make again. These look great!
OH MY GOODNESS…..so glad I stayed until the end to see those darling little fellows….happy to be a part of mommy’s baking. Precious! The cupcakes are ‘darling’, too!! ♥️
Your buttermilk hack is different than the one I was taught. For example, I made your blueberry muffins and it was delicious. You put 1 very full Tbsp of fresh lemon juice in your measuring cup FIRST and then top it off with your milk to the 1 C line. It even works with soy milk and works great in pancakes too.
So making these cupcakes, easy and they look delicious too!! I agree that you need all the frosting! Thanks Sam for another great recipe!! On another note, love your broccoli cheese soup, you are the best!!
These look delicious and lovely.. but thankfully a recipie that I dont care to make. I detest making cupcakes 😂 I made your artisan white bread yesterday.. and wow! Excellent recipe!
I commend Sam's recognition that anything less than a 2-to-1 frosting-to-cupcake height ratio is unacceptable. If the frosting's not twice as tall as the cupcake, you're eating one of those sawdusty diet bran muffins you find in those stores that sell herbal remedies and soup mix that comes in a sleeve.

I'm hoping that at some point you can talk about how using butter flavored shortening works in baking. I'm always tempted to use it but I've been trained to believe that it's bad to consumer.
I personally avoid shortening as much as I can because I'm not a fan of the ingredients. I'm definitely not perfect about it, but when I can avoid it I do. As far as how it works, you should be able to do a straight substitute for butter in most instances.
Any shortening is a hydrogenated fat which is horrible for you! Use butter and if you need a solid fat , use lard or for some applications coconut oil will work
Hi Sam! I baked these yesterday and they sunk in the middle and spread all over the place. I’m at high altitude. Is there anyway I can modify this recipe for high altitude? I baked the rest of my cupcake batter into a small cake pan and it rose just fine and it was absolutely delicious so I still want to use your recipe because it tastes the best!
They’re adorable and good little helpers! Maybe you can pay them to comment more on the cupcakes and frosting instead of the sprinkles. You have to pay your advertisers. 😂😅
I was thinking of purchasing the electric mixer behind you. Why is the hand one better than the electric mixer that does it for you? Is the electric stand mixer overrated? Wow I learned something new. I had no idea you can make your own frosting 😮. Now I’m going to try this.
I actually love my stand mixer and it gets used very often, just not on video. I wouldn't say it's overrated, it can save a lot of time and effort. However I would say I personally think the quality of KitchenAid has gone downhill and they unfortunately aren't made like they used to be, which has been so disappointing to discover. I prefer to use the hand mixer on camera because it's easier for anyone watching to see how the ingredients should look in the bowl (how the batter/dough looks) and because not everyone has a stand mixer and I don't want the recipes to seem unapproachable.
@@SugarSpunRun Agreed. My husband was going to buy me a stand mixer for Christmas 5 years ago, and I told him I've changed my mind, don't want one. The reviews were awful, lots of complaints of the motor and the non stick coating coming off the attachments in the batter, I avoid non stick pans, very bad for you. So I tried looking for a stand mixer that didn't have that coating on the attachments, they all have it now, I even looked at that brand made in Italy, non stick. 😖 I mainly wanted it for making bread, I don't buy bread from the store because of the ingredients, a paragraph long, and unhealthy. I make homemade bread twice a week for lunch sandwiches for my small family. My brother uses his stand mixer for his pizza dough and it comes out tough, overworked dough. I make my sandwich bread and pizza dough by hand, and the texture is wonderful. It is a lot of work, time, and tiring, but worth it. I love your slow sad stand mixer moment, hilarious! 😁
@@SugarSpunRun I won’t bother and just continue using my hand mixer then. Plus I’m running out of kitchen space in my kitchen cabinets to put all of these new kitchen gadgets anyway.
I used to bake cupcakes for everything, such as birthdays, Thanksgiving dinners, game night, church dinner, and so much more. But then, many months ago, I found out that baking and decorating pastries is a men only activity. Hidekun Hah said so.
Just a teaspoon or a tablespoon? I do because the recipe says a tablespoon of vanilla bean paste…if I do vanilla extract instead should I use less? Thanks!

Hi Sam how are you I’m Laura I’m going to make this❤
Hope you enjoy it, Laura!
Thank you so much for weighing your ingredients. Have you ever found that different brands of flour weigh differently for a one cup amount?
While I suppose it's possible to be very minor variations between brands I have never really found one or found it to be an issue. :)

🤣 They definitely have their favorite part! :)
Hi Sam, would you suggest a brushing of simple syrup if making the night before? This recipe looks absolutely divine 💛
You could if you'd like, but I find if they are stored in an air tight container at room temperature, then there is no need for a simple syrup. :)

Is it okay I can leave eggs out in this Recipe please.

Can I use sour cream or yogurt instead of buttermilk?
I’d recommend making a buttermilk substitute. 😊
How sweet are these? I prefer baked goods being less sweet, but I know omitting too much sugar will change the texture.

I'd recommend using my vanilla cake recipe. :) ruclips.net/video/4UNjcAtTnjM/видео.htmlsi=HHdsOvKVOnb-Yuzv
For the frosting, can vanilla extract be used instead of vanilla bean or vanilla bean paste? I am having trouble finding the latter.
You can just use a teaspoon of vanilla extract instead. :)

You can't buy buttermilk in coastal Massachusetts

Is it wrong to want cupcakes for breakfast and dinner?
Absolutely not. It's actually the standard in my house, well at least the kids would like it that way. 🤣
