I'm a day dreaming Pisces, have 3 gorgeous (noisy) boys, and am very much a woman's woman who loves a good chit chat about fashion! I'm back with my early bird videos! I know a lot of you preferred this time and I figured I'm up at silly o clock anyway so we may as well stick with it:) So happy weekend ladies, hope you're all having a wonderful chill:) Today we're talking capsule wardrobes, and if I could only have a few pieces on my rail this Winter what would they be, and how to style them together:) As always I'd love to hear your favourite look?

I appreciate your concept of investment when it comes to fashion/clothing, it does not have to always be about how much one spends. I know the time i take to curate my closet to match my lifestyle and stages in my career is an investment in itself.
That's exactly it Hodan! It can take a lot of time and effort to create that perfect capsule wardrobe just for you. Slowly but surely adding in pieces as and when we know they're worth the pennies, it can't be rushed. And to be honest it shouldn't be rushed either, the curating is part of the fun:) x
I live in Canada. Here I would suggest an extra wardrobe just for your outerwear. In it I would include a long winter coat, a mid length winter coat, a short casual winter jacket, and any other specific winter sport orientated jackets (ski-doo jacket, etc). I would also include a large, calf length lined boot, a mid length ankle winter, casual boot, and a short winter dress boot (lined). As with the coat/jackets you'd also want to include any boots specific to your outdoor needs. Finally, a light scarf, a heavier scarf, a casual toque (aka beanie), a decorative hat (possibly fur or faux fur), a pair of leather, lined gloves, a pair of heavy mitts, a pair of heavy gloves (something to shovel snow with), a muffler and maybe a pair of ear muffs. If you do a lot of activity outdoors (recreational or otherwise) I'd also suggest a pair of ski-pants or a full ski-doo suit.
I'd also skip the ballet flats and the ankle length jeans. They look great but would be of more use in the spring, summer, or fall.
As with a lot of things in life it's really where you live that defines much of our lifestyle, including ones wardrobe.

As we are in Tasmania for a 2 week holiday to finally meet our new Grandies who were born during Covid so we couldn't see them I have followed your advice and spent time curating a travel capsule and it felt very satisfying to have it. Getting dressed each day so far has been a breeze thanks to your wonderful style and advice. Xx

Excelente as always! Thank you for the video. I love your hints like the strips how affect your outfit. I bought a striped jumper but somehow I was not sure, after your video I decided to return it. I also promised my self that I will only buy what I really I love and that fits into my wardrobe. And also quality over quantity. The quality wasn’t the problem but the style.
I actually I am decluttering my wardrobe and try to put it into more polished, elevated and at the same time to build a good capsule wardrobe. You inspire me and guide me on my way! Thank you!
I would like to ask you for an advice about a trousers from Sezane that I bought, but it is nothing to do with winter wardrobe 🙈. The trousers are the “Jacques” are cute blue denim straight wide leg patch pockets on the side, tightened at the waist with a drawstring. They are very comfortable and stylish BUT I am really missing how to put the outfit together. The drawstring made me somehow difficult to put the outfit chic and polished. I am in my end 30’s age and I like them but I want to use them in a chic way. Hope you have a hint for me!

As usual, everything looks fantastic on you. And as I "grow up" I am learning that even sizing my trousers and jeans up, like you do for a more relaxed fit, has really upped the chic!!! This has really changed the way. I view clothes differently and of course...I am waiting for the next Sezane video...why? I don't know, but I must have everything!!

You can really pull of the long oversized coats but I love the new camel one! Bought the warehouse trousers after seeing it in your video and I really love the fit 🤩
Morning Jess ❤… hope all well …the grey double breasted coat was lovely although I’m kicking myself as I had one just like it from La Redoute a few years back and for some reason gave it away ! .. thought I’d gone of it 😮!!! …I’m definitely a cool rather than warm .. always love camel coats /jackets but they always wash me out … so annoying 😅 I will treat myself to a Chloe blouse though … do you think white or black to start ? Hi Jess, hope all is well with you. Yay I can eat breakfast whilst watching you again! I've had a long discussion in my head re what colour winter coat to buy, camel or grey, I think that grey is just edging it on the basis that all tones of tan shades may look better with grey than with camel and my tan bag looked a bit matchy when I tried on a camel coat with it, what are your thoughts? Next issue is finding the right coat, I'm a tall long limbed girl and 99% of coats are too short in the sleeves which is so choice limiting. Anyway, great video, I spent 5 hours clearing out my wardrobe yesterday & am about to start on my chest of drawers and the spare room wardrobe so I will have space for some decent items when I see them. Less is more is my new mantra! Xx

Jess, that ecru coat is gorgeous! I'll invest in one next winter. The Chanel ballet flats are a total classic, regardless of what the fashion cycle is saying, LK Bennett do this style really well. Loafers and trainers are also a classic in my wardrobe. I love how all these shoe styles are flat and comfortable to wear. I would add a pair of black knee high boots to this wardrobe look book, they are also essential in winter time.
Aah yes that's a nice idea:) I actually don't have any knee high boots in black, just the taupe which I think you've seen before. I should add some for next Winter:) Love LK bennett, though a little more pricey they're beautiful quality. In fact I found some beautiful mid heels in there the other day, and then found a bit of a dupe in John Lewis! So I'll have to show you those in the next coming weeks. I have pretty much got my winter wardrobe how I’d like it. Couple more pieces (tops) for the evening are on my wish list but as I too like classic pieces, I shall take my time with looking for these pieces.

Can I just say that the Chloe shirt is everything Jess says. It’s absolutely beautiful and I’m so glad I saved and purchased it. I’d love it in green and the red too as can wear all year round.

I was pleased to see you included a shawl in your capsule wardrobe, it's amazing how warm that extra layer over the shoulders can be . I have a few shawls and blanket scarves, but ... keeping them in place can be quite a challenge! Have you any tips you can share so we can maintain a chic look in our shawls while out and about. Thank you 😊
@@suebladon3593 Oh I love them, just what the doctor ordered with this awful weather we've been having! I tend to use my handbags to keep them in place, just put the strap over the shoulder where you've placed the wrap. They'll stay in place better too if you wear your bag cross body x

The beautiful black jumper with detail sleeves is £150 and comprises 80% viscose so unsure how this price can be justified. Would love to get this but feel the supplier is not being fair
Hi lovely, thanks so much for watching:) I personally don't have an issue with viscose, it's biodegradable and can actually end up being more sustainable than cotton. I think it's a little easier to work with when creating stitch details like on those sleeves and I actually like the feel of it against my skin and it doesn't irritate my eczema like a lot of the knits can. It's personal preference of course but I would have it in my section of items I would buy:)
I think my favorite shoes from this video were the only that you didn't mention.. and if i'm not mistaken, they were the Paula babies from Sezane..

I will definitely look into the Idyl jewlery as I am looking to add larger studs to my collection. @@FashionStyleEdit They really are, that color is amazing and hard to find I feel. No worries at all, we can't (and shouldn't!) have everything!😉 I've tried Everlane a few times but their bottoms just don't work as well for me. Love them for everything else though! I've been eyeing some Reformation trousers, hopefully those work better. 🤞

Aww thanks gorgeous, so glad you enjoyed it😘 The warehouse trousers are fab aren’t they, affordable too:) I went true to size with these with a uk10, they just come up a little big, nicely so I think. Actually I find all warehouse trousers come up a tiny bit big so if you’re wanting something a bit more fitted I’d maybe size down:) Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend hun x

I REALLY struggle to get trousers on the high street that are long enough. Being 5’11 I find as soon as I add a shoe (even a trainer) they look an inch or two too short, really appreciate any recommendations?? I’m not fussy on colour 😅🙏

Hello Maria, thank you so much for watching and for your kind words:) I think the Warehouse trousers come up a little bit big. I'm a very true size Uk10 and as you can see they're certainly not tight at all, but nicely so I thought. I think they're meant to be higher waisted but because they're a little looser I like to shimmy them down a little. Hope that helps lovely x

Hi Ellen, so sorry about that I thought they shipped to The States:/ What about Everlane, they always have lovely trousers. Theory have some great pairs too but they are a bit more pricey. I’ll have a little google on that one actually and see if I can find a good alternative on a similar price point x

Hey lovely, that one is from Everlane, always a lovely choice for great cashmere and their ethics as a company. If you don't want the faff of import duty I would take a look at the men's section at Cos, they had some lovely cashmere crew necks recently that just naturally have that slightly oversized fit x
