- I had been looking forward to this trip for ages and it didn't disappoint. After catching the ferry over from Mallaig, I hiked the stunning coastal route around to Dibidil Bothy. What a setting it has. It is where rugged mountains and an equally rugged coastline combine to create breathtaking scenery.
A good night has had before I completed much of the famous Rum Cuillin walk the following day. An incredible experience and one I'd strongly suggest you try yourself.
Great video
Having grown up on the Isle of Lewis I can relate to the midge problem..people don’t realise just how life changing they are ….you literally can’t go outside without repellent, nets, etc
Wanted to go back to the islands during August, but just worried that the damn midges will ruin it. Coll and Tiree were on the cards. Have you visited?
@@danexitsstreetview3273 no, I’ve lived in Lewis for the first 20 years of my life and have travelled through Skye, Mull, Iona,Staffa, Benbeculla, Arran and Shetland but I do want to see Mull,Tiree and Muck. But damn those midges
These hills have Viking names.
Majestic Dan! Another really enjoyable, scenic & interesting episode. A wonderful part of the world….thanks again for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it. Not difficult to make a good video on Rum. what an island! Thanks for watching as always.
Loved the video, want to get there myself sometime.
Thats my favourite type of cloud, when it forming around you.
Cheers Jack. So worth the trip.
Just loved it here u said on one u other vids u had stayed in loads how many is loads av stayed in 156 now adventure before dementia 👍
156 is impressive. I have lost count but I would guess around thirty or so in Scotland and then more in England and Wales too. Doing Fisherfield Forest late October hopefully.
I have one left at bottom of Wales Grwyne Fawr then a couple more private ones av found out about also to do
Did you meet a group who came down to the bothy from the opposite side to which you climbed? They got on a boat back to Kinloch.
Yes I did. They say by the bothy for a bit and then caught a boat. Were you one of them?
@@danexitsstreetview3273 I was, I thought I recognised you. We had dolphins around the boat on the way back. Magical place.
@@paulharter2343 That is special. Was a funny experience. The glen seemed busy one minute and then I was the only person around for miles once again.
Mate you are wearing the wrong colours for that part of the world in the Summer months, no wonder there were midgies everywhere! Stick to dark colours, nothing yellow or orange.
