Great video, on my list of places to go, bit of trivia, Kinloch castle was built using sandstone from my home village of Corrie on the Isle of Arran, the sandstone quarry now long closed and a small housing estate there now. 🙂
Was it, that's interesting to know, nice one island to another. I visited Arran years ago but need to go back. What's the one thing id need to see while there do you think? Thanks for messaging and telling me you enjoyed this video by the way, I like to know who's watching and what they think. Iona x
@@IonaMacinnes Aw way to much to see and do here to choose one, everything from eating, drinking, low walks, high hill walks, coastal stuff, castles, dinosaur footprints, to name just some of the stuff to do, but maybe see if you can find the doctors bath in Corrie, very well engineered by the same quarry men who cut the stone for Kinloch castle, very quirky
An interesting video Iona, loved Kinloch castle, can you imagine what it would be like all sandblasted and renovated, I need to visit Rum, Eigg and Canna, I've already visited Muck, a lovely wee island. Thanks for sharing once again Iona, I really appreciate your hard work and sharing these videos.Good luck with sharing future videos, I'll be watching them all!...have a happy sunday! 🙏👍 btw you'll find otters in Loch Morar six miles south of Mallaig.....like 115.
@daviemcf noted, next time Im there I'll be waiting patiently cursing you when they go hiding again😂, thanks for the tip tho, appreciated. Aye Rum is cool and no passport required so youve got places to see before you travel elsewhere....as do I. Mull and Iona will be up after all the cruise ones, then Skye...... Ix
Im glad you enjoyed it. It's so good that I can go, film it and show you so you can see all the places. Canna and Mallaig next, then back to Vietnam for some Hoi An lanterns and tailoring. Ix
You just need to put time aside isn't it. Ive just booked to go back to do Eigg and Muck early July otherwise something else would get in the way. Pretty cool wee islands to explore. Get it booked! Iona x
Fab video, you make me smile! What a huge shame about the castle, accomodation there for so many! How weird it's still full of furniture. Looking forward to Eigg, I saw a docu about it, what a great story. Pity all the isles are not owned by the people who live on them. I think there's one for sale now that has farms & people living there, horrible that someone can just come along & buy the whole isle, ugh.
awe you make me smile too writing such a nice comment, thank you. I'll continue to visit all the Scottish Islands and film as I go so it's good to know there are people who enjoy and look forward to seeing the videos and places I visit as much as me. I'm learning as I go, it's great fun and a great way to pass time. Ix
@rachelm1816 Hello, how lovely of you to message me to say that, ha that’s cool. Sorry late reply, I’ve just come back last night from a weeks cruise round the Greek islands (so expect videos on that soon) and little WiFi to reply. Where are you from? Ix
Hi Robert, thanks for messaging. Rum is pretty cool isn't it. I'm from the Isles of Lewis so that's the accent you couldn't place. Where are you from? People mistake me for Welsh, Irish and even South African at times. Thank you for watching. Ix
@@IonaMacinnes definitely not Welsh lol I spend some time in Wales with my kids Originally I'm from London but I've been in Scotland climbing its beautiful mountains for nearly 50 years and will stay here forever thanks for replying and many many more happy trips
Ha, brilliant, where else are you going? I only managed Rum and Canna this time but want to do Eigg and Muck in a few weeks. Hope you have a great time. Ix
Bruce, what a great idea. Ive only been doing places my Mum and I have never been to but now opening it up to everyone that's what I should do. Good craic, good request!! Lets see what the weather is like for filming this weekend, today the ferries are all off, its blowing a hoolie. Iona x
Great videos. Spoiled to some extent by poor audio quality. Treat yourself to a decent microphone with noise cancelling and you will see a big improvement. Keep up the good work.
Hello, You're so right. Trouble is here the wind is every direction and it's sooo hard to avoid, but I should get a mic for everyone's sake. Thanks, glad you enjoyed them and thanks for messaging, I appreciate your honesty.
@@IonaMacinnes. You are making me feel guilty now for causing you this extra expenditure! The audio wasn’t really too bad. I have now subscribed to your channel so will look out for more of your excellent content. Good luck.

And thanks sooooo much for subscribing, you're my 216th subscriber, how cool is that ha. Ok, let's see if the boat goes tomorrow, I'll get my mic. Blowing a hoolie and all ferries are off; the joys of Island living and travelling. Ix
After all that walking , fresh air and a hearty dinner plus wine , I'd sleep for a week
@tezzah...😂😂👍 I know. Ix
