I want to make a video about the future of note-taking and knowledge management in the age of AI. Any questions or talking points I should address in it? Let me know! ✍
Do you see any sense in letttin ai making connections between your notes? Can we allow to ai generate minds on your own notes - and how to separate your own notes from ai generated text.
AI is simply scary, like seriously, it knows more than you do about yourself. It was just in the movies but it's real now 😱 Don't wanna imagine what's it'd be like in next 25 years.
@Trecoolerok I do indeed see some sense in it, good point, will be happy to address it! The separation of own and generated text I will also go into, thanks for the suggestion!
@@djlensingLooking forward to that video just discovered your channel the quality is incredible and your explanation are clear ! Thanks for the video hope you'll continue posting news stuff here ! 😊
Thank you for the clear video! Definitely one of the clearest explanations I have seen. 🙌 Re Age of AI Note-taking: Please consider including points such as: why it’s important to develop your knowledge & thinking when AI seems to be able to do it for you; the advantages your brain has over AI (living in a body getting sensory input & feedback/ your unique perspective re personal experience/ your own social connections, experience & social input to your thinking/ our tendency to relate a confluence of real-time experiences and inputs or details, to relate to each other and create meaning & ideas/ the changing form of words, expressions, definitions, colloquialisms, and various non- letter and number based forms of communication - eg using emojis in combo with words differently weights the meaning & translation, body language, pop culture references to weight language etc/ issues of translation across languages, cultural groups, and points in time still needing a human translator as opposed to AI which won’t be able to do this until it can be in a system that also processes sensory real-time input for a more complete and true translation); the need for thinking and back-up systems that don’t solely rely on access to power and the web - and the practice of being able to generate thoughts, ideas and solutions when there is no power or web-connected device available. I’m sure there are others! These are just my immediate thoughts. Looking forward to viewing more of your videos!
One of the most straightforward guides on the Zettelkasten method. You capture the essentials in a video and let people do the research on those things they didn't get (like the numbering system). Cheers from Chile 🇨🇱
I like the flexibility of this method- can easily move/take notecards to share with others, take raw ideas & gather them together for projects. I've often used 3-ring binders but they have the disadvantage of being heavy & taking up a lot of space. My ADHD brain is always coming up with a lot, and it's often very nonlinear & about multiple topics (some of which are interrelated in ways that would make no sense to other people!) so this would be great. Color coding also may be helpful.
I came here for a German voice to give me the skinny version of this concept and was not disappointed. Saved me hours of scouring any further the wasteland of clickbait.
Thank you for this amazing video! You really have a talent in explaining these sorts of concepts! Also, I absolutely love the decor behind you in this video! That type of old, wooden furniture is truly breath-taking.
I'd obviously heard of this before, but I hadn't realized I've been sort of doing this for a while. The one thing I haven't really been doing is reviewing it that often. Thank you for this video.
It’s so nice to hear the proper pronunciation of zettlekasten. I’m still trying to grasp the concept. I’ll have to use analog, because if I try to use an app, I’ll get lost. Thank you for simplifying. Could you make a demonstration of how you start your files? Thx.
Thanks for this! I can type faster than I can write, and I like that I can search on words in the text. The hashtags help in that regard to think of keywords.
I see a lot of ideas as a Digital 2D/3D artist, sometimes its training material, its images, maybe a para from a book by an author describing a landscape be it's a gaming tool description on how to enable a particular feature in the software, or just a windows registry tweaking note is it possible to use this method to collect and organize such information. How do I connect using Obsidian should I use YAML-type properties or tags. How do I connect/ remember or make it available when I am looking for an idea.
I still don’t understand exactly how I should be linking these notes inside of Obsidian. All the zettelkasten videos I see go into the theory. What I want so see are some actual example of the system in use inside of Obsidian
I am still a bit confused about how you store the notes so they are easily retrievable using this method. If anyone could help clarify this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Hey, I use descriptive file names for my notes, which usually makes searching very easy. I click "cmd o" to open a note and type in a keyword that is in the name of the note or is related to the note. In Obsidian that’s usually enough to immediately find the right note. I've never actually had a problem with not being able to retrieve a note, as the search can use the entire content of the note to help me find it - unlike with the conventional, paperbased Zettelkasten. I don't use Luhmann's numbering system, which doesn't seem necessary to me in the digital version of a Zettelkasten.
You mean the numbering system that Luhmann used for his notes to link them together? I'm afraid I couldn't explain that, and I don't consider it relevant either, as links in a digital card index can be created in other ways.

You're welcome! I recommend doing the reviewing, it helps me keep track and pick up open threads of thought.

Thank you David, that was actually helpful
I wonder what his Zettlekasten notes for this video look like.
Succint and perfectly clear
Thanks for this! I can type faster than I can write, and I like that I can search on words in the text. The hashtags help in that regard to think of keywords.
Easy and straight forward. Thansk for the video mate.😀
A sucinct overview. Thanks
Thank you or "Dankeschön" for taking the time creating this video. Good work. The background is very nice, if you live in there you are very lucky.
I do live there, yes, and I am lucky and very grateful for that. 🙏 Thank you!
Three videos in and obviously I've decided to suscribed, well done mate !
Man, that's a strong accent.
Thank You

Liked & Subscribed!
Thank you! 🤗
a method to add, link, and organize notes?
How do you name your permanent notes?
I want to try zettlekasten but obsidian is so complicated and convoluted
A great tool but I am concerned that using the digital tools for this note taking system we are providing more free material to AI and its offshoots?
Yes, we are. Why are you concerned about that?
Don’t see that as a problem, but an opportunity to shape AI in the direction you want. Let it see your wonderful life and wonderful thoughts.
So you’re saying this method doesn’t work for language learning?
I am still a bit confused about how you store the notes so they are easily retrievable using this method. If anyone could help clarify this, it would be greatly appreciated.

For example? References, man?
