after watching many ASP videos, this was brutally boring. not completely agreeing all Arkansas pursuits should end in high speed pit maneuver, Ohio needs a better game. from BG, all the way to state line, in a rear view escort, is pathetic. then 60 more miles to Detroit? thru multiple construction zones? guess robbery is just not as criminal as used to be

ASP would NOT put peoples lives at risk. The pits u use are smaller cars that are easy to pit. Pitting in some places u need permission to pit. Just due to how dangerous for the perp and cop it is. However OSHP does pit cars if it’s a dangerous suspect (at any speed) else it’s only at low speeds for other suspects. MSP(Michigan State Police) had been notified. Better to just hand it off and hope that the driver, seeing he's not being chased, might slow down to a safer speed thinking he escaped. The longer a high speed chase like that, especially with a U-Haul which carry huge tanks, the higher the risk of accidents, and innocent people being injured or killed. It's good strategy for several reasons.
They literally chased them out of state and let the burden of catching them be somebody else's problem. Why they didn't continue? Jurisdiction. Why they didn't try to stop them before they got to the border? Because the aggression of the cops is based on the pursued. The people who were trying to escape was not driving aggressively they were just driving out of state without endangering the public. Seems you people are fishing for someone to criticize. Do better.

The Arkansas State Police would have performed a tactical intervention (PIT) within ten minutes of joining the pursuit. We've seen them doing it to box trucks before. The Ohio cops just gave this guy an escort to the state line, at taxpayer expense.

According to Bowling Green Police, three individuals entered the store and were later seen throwing over $1,400 worth of stolen alcohol and other items into a U-Haul truck. The truck then pulled out of the parking lot and drove off heading south on South Main Street. Bowling Green police told 13abc, officers pursued the suspect until just north of Bowling Green on I-75. Ohio State Highway Patrol then took over the pursuit until the Ohio-Michigan state line. Once the suspects crossed state lines, Michigan State Police began to pursue the suspect. MSP says a trooper followed the U-Haul until the suspect eventually parked the vehicle and began to walk away. The Detroit Police Department located the suspect, Christopher Harris II, 54, of Ann Arbor, and took him into custody without incident. After Harris was turned over to MSP, it was learned that he possessed an active probation violation out of Wayne County. During a search of the vehicle, officials found suspected crack cocaine on the floorboard. According to MSP, after contacting the Bowling Green Police Department, it was determined the U-Haul was not stolen. Harris was transported and lodged at Wayne County Jail and is waiting to be extradited to Bowling Green. MSP says two other suspects fled the scene and have not been located at this time.

They did not feel that the circumstances of stealing $1000 worth of alcohol was worth the risk and property damage. I agree with their decision.

I live in Michigan and I was always told that Michigan and Ohio go hand-in-hand in traffic Pursuit meaning Ohio was supposed to radio Michigan ahead of time so Michigan can pick up the chase and vice versa if I'm being chased on the highway Michigan State Police.. Michigan State Police is supposed to radio ahead to Ohio State Police and they are supposed to pick up the Chase Right??
