Wow! These are incredibly useful videos. The content should be part of a vehicle delivery, but obviously all the dealer cares about is your money. Thank-you very much for de-mystifying my complicated car!

For newer models SIM card is located in the central mirror base, it took me some time to find it.

Starting from 2022 they moved the SIM card slot to the ceiling console.

Hi friend, how did you get the alarm to beep when you lock the car?

You can change it in the Settings. You need to go to My Car -> Locking -> Audible Locking Feedback.

      @ my 2018 model doesn't have that option! 😔

I keep a spare battery on trickle charge for starting my Volvos in an emergency. It is useful as I can just put it in the back of another vehicle and go rescue the one with the dead battery.

The coms module may be drowned if you don't notice your moonroof leak and the rear wheel well fills up. It may also take out the rear liftgate open/close.

Eta: my comment is wrong, see replies. Leaving in place so others can have the same learning.
This is not how to jump start a car safely! It's actually very dangerous to connect it in the way you showed. It should be red on donor, red on dead, black on donor, like you showed, but the final black needs to be connected to an earthing point or bare metal - not the dead car's negative terminal.

This is the right way to jump start the XC40 (recommended by Volvo). The last negative connection is done to the dedicated jump starting ground point away from the battery. The idea behind it is you move the spark away from the battery where hydrogen gases may accumulate under certain conditions.

@MorozovAutomotive You're right, I apologise. I've just checked my manual to see the same. This goes against everything we're taught about jump starting! But I guess it makes sense given the information you've stated
