    About complaint 1, as other comments have stated is how there is a setting to change whether the car unlocks only the driver or all doors in the infotainment. About complaint 4, no automotive manufacturer wireless charger that I've seen has magnets to place the phone in the correct position. If the charger does not work when you place your phone on it properly you should get it checked at by your dealer. When I test drove a '21 and a '22 model year version of this car, the wireless chargers worked flawlessly. You should also check your phone case, if its too chunky/thick it will interfere with wireless charging as a whole, no matter the charger.

      I changed the door unlock to all doors on mine on the first day. This may be a new feature tho, don't know. My wireless charger also works perfectly with both mine and my wife's phones.

    There IS auto climate. Just press that prominent AUTO button. After you do that, the fan speed buttons just control the level of fan intensity for the auto image. I advise keeping it in 3

      Someone else said if I keep it at 5 it would adjust down, but I have not found that to be the case and have gone back to three. I am aware of the AUTO option for where it gets sprayed, but the fan speed is a bit of an issue for me still.
      Thx for the comment & watching.

      Yes, Auto on fan level 5 will achieve what you want. On a hot day, it will crank up the air, on a cool day it will be quite moderate.
      Also, there IS the ability to unlock either all doors or just the driver door in the settings.

    We have had a Volvo XC 40 Recharge for 3 months, and also love it. My wife calls it her Serene Mobile, for the quiet, luxurious way that it goes down the road. I am impressed by the acceleration and handling/cornering, in excess of anything that we will use. The seats are extremely comfortable. A friend picked up a Tesla in midwinter and came close to an accident because he couldn't find his way through the menus to turn on the windshield defroster. In our car we can do it with voice control without ever taking our eyes off the road. There are EVs with longer range, but we don't need that with this car (we have a gas-powered car for long trips). We too love ours.

    3:14 I had the same thing with my XT5 Cadillac with the rear auto break. It needed up being a cable issue and a calibration need. It was sensing shadows even and reacting to them.

    0:30 "How the car Locks it self" - it doesn't. My XC40 has a menu option under Settings>Locking > Unlock Doors > All or One. Odd that yours is missing this feature. Wonder if yours has not had the most recent updates installed? That said, mine does not have walk away door lock.

    You missed my biggest pet peave... The poorly placed/angled back up camera. I find it unusable at times since it's tucked under a ledge and therefore cuts off some of the view.

      I actually had a tough time coming up with five, I love the car so much. My wife chimed in to get me to five with the lock thing. Cam for me has not hit my radar but will see if I can pick up on what you describe.
      Another viewer also chimed in bout the arm rest being too far back. Would have to agree with that one too.
      Thx for watching and the nice comments.

    As for the first complaint, i literally have this car and that unlock one door vs 4 is an option in the menu. I have a 2021 so maybe they removed it in later models? but most likely not and this guy just missed it lol

    Rear auto brake has been fixed with latest update for MY24 Model. Wireless charger has never been an issue in my MY24 maybe you can have it looked at by your dealer. Can you loose the jeering and chearing. Great videos though. Thanks

    6:49 with Cadillac (nit sure about all GM cars) you can leave the car running with climate on AND you can leave the car and lock it. Example leave the puppy dog in the car and run into the 7-11 for a soda pop. It’s great and I use that option daily!

    • @XLoaferY

      you can do that in the app, but it doesn't run the fans continously.

    1:30 if you hit auto you can select a temperature…

    • @thenetworkarchitectchannel
      @thenetworkarchitectchannel  Год назад

      Correct, but the fan speed is fixed. In other cars, the fan speed adjusts to the cabin temperature as well as the air flow temperatures.

    • @tryingtobehelpful
      @tryingtobehelpful Год назад +1

      Th fan speed is absolutely not fixed. The numbers 1-5 are there to adjust your preference as to a range of potential speeds. The larger the temperature differential, the faster the fan speed.

    About Dislike 2. You can easely use Voice command to adjust fan speed and temperature. I do it always, it’s perfect. (And by the way model 2024 will have a major update, for instance longer range.)

    Thank you for dislike 3! I have kind of the same problem - our backyard gate is apparently too narrow for Volvo liking - it seems like. I own the car only for 2 days, but both times I was going to work in the morning and was backing out of the backyard into the driveway I got automatic brake stopping the car! Luckily I watched your video even before we bought the car, so I figured what it was. Because first time I experienced it - it was bad - it felt like I hit the wall :))) But - no, I was fine. Just our driveway is narrow, we have fenced yard and gate - for the dog sake, and we have bushes around our driveway. That was it! I understand why they put it, and it might be useful safety feature in some situations. But it was a nerve wrecking experience :)))) I probably will end up doing what you did - turn it off when I back up from the garage into the driveway out of the backyard gates. Or I will tune up my backing up so much that Volvo would not mind? Hopefully :))) Thank you anyways for the great review!

    Thanks for this - the XC40 Recharge is high on our list to replace our main ICE vehicle. Speaking of safety I’ve seen videos of the car being dropped from a crane on its nose with no crumpling of the passenger compartment. Impressive! I have read of a number of software glitches that worry me but hopefully those are being sorted over time. Have you experienced any of those?

    • @thenetworkarchitectchannel

      Glad it was helpful! No, on the contrary, it has improved over time. The battery percent was added via OTA early on. Integration of CarPlay and the Apple Map into the center console was another milestone. The big one as of late was the addition of RUclips and Prime Video into the center console. I like to watch vids while charging. nice feature.
      I recently had added load bars to the roof and am toting a cargo carrier on them. I am excited to do car camping in the coming months with several new camping items I have collected in the off season. Thx for watching.

    Thanks for the video!
    Same dislikes about the lack of door locking when walking away (I can do that with my cheap Mazda CX-3), and the rear auto break (it engages when I back into my carport from the angled driveway!)
    Extra dislikes for me:
    - The center armrest doesn't go far enough forward; I'm used to rest my arm on it in the Mazda, now it's floating uncomfortably when holding the wheel.
    - Pilot Assist: It corrects with little jerks, not a nice experience. And sometimes it thinks I'm not holding the wheel and starts beeping madly; Once I had to fight it to prove I was there, and jumped half a lane! It's always off now, too dangerous.

    • @thenetworkarchitectchannel
      @thenetworkarchitectchannel  Год назад

      Thx for watching and the comment. Ours does not have pilot assist, but our Tesla M3 did and the phantom breaking had me not using it all the time too. Just had auto break kick in on me when I was backing into a space tonight. There was a branch sticking out a little too far in the wrong place. WAM! ;-}
      Stay safe.

    • @scottsmith9960

      On straight highway sections, if you only have 1 hand on the wheel when using pilot assist it will tell you to apply steering. I've found if you keep 2 hands on the wheel (1 near top and 1 near the bottom side) it will keep pilot assist from asking you to apply steering. Personally, I love pilot assist and use it frequently.

    • @commanderbly009

      your hand is supposed to be on the wheel resisting, to smooth out the jerks. It's an assistance

    I hope volvo listens to their customers for updates! I love Volvos and they are very underrated and very high quality even more than a lexus in my opinion! And yes!! the safety feel is just way different compared to other cars! I feels so solid its hard to describe!
