Nice video. I would have tried the risers facing forward first as most tall people also have longish arms. That would have given more cockpit room. But, at the end of the day it has to be what works for you. Hope it works just right for you.
To be honest... this prob will not be the last position I try but this video was just the install. I'll ride a bit, tweak, ride a bit, tweak. LOL Thanks for the comment!
I did the same set to my 2020 650XT. I am only 5'10" though and I would still like them back just a little bit more. I have not had to stand up as of yet for I am still on the Factory Tires and have not gone off road. I have the 2 Inch Anti Vibration Rox on my dual sport and am considering those for the VStrom. But then the Cables have to be lengthen and that is whole other project.
Thanks for the video. I have been considering those for a while now. Could you make a video discussing transitioning from seated, to standing up straight, to a more aggressive posture when it gets gnarly? And include the trade-offs we have to make with bike setup for back/shoulder/neck comfort, wrist comfort, and control?
Hi BootsInTheDirt! Jason is pretty happy with the new bar risers. He may adjust the angle of the bars a little over the next few weeks to get it just where he wants it. But unfortunately what you're asking for is extremely rider-specific. What works for Jason's height/build/torso/arm-length/etc. won't necessarily work for yours. I guess what I'm saying is, the bar-risers definitely help, he loves them, he's keeping them...but the subtle nuances of adjusting the ergonomics of the bike to best fit your frame are probably going to have to be done through trial-and error on your part once you have them installed. Good news is, they are cheap and easy to install. So if for some doubtful reason you don't like them, it'll be easy to remove and send back. Thanks for watching!
Great video Jason, I don't have a V-strom. Don't really feel the need to raise the bar on my BMW g650gs. Just can't get enough of the PMA videos I reckon ! 😀 Yep, you guessed it, I'm a lil bit bored. So, thought I'd watch this video and comment to help the PMA channel out some and get ya some more of these $$$$$$$$ ;-) hehe
Because the triple-clamp is angled toward you, just raising the bars up automatically brings them closer to you. But if you need a little extra, simple angle them a bit like Jason did.
I did the same on my 2021 650XT and I will say, cables are almost too short and second thing, people please put a big blanket on your tank because on a previous bike, I dent it and with absolutely no effort.
Jason got this setup specifically because it was the tallest he could get that wouldn't require longer cables. I would guess the 2022 would have the same slack in it's cables as the earlier models. But there's no way to guarantee without trying! I would reach out to Rox support and see if they have any insights. Otherwise, just order them and try it! If they don't work, you can always send them back.
Rats for you! I got lucky with the 2011, I guess. First time for everything, LOL Fair warning to all other Vstrommers... 2012 changed body style so brake lines beware. Thanks Barry!

Hellfire good job
Thanks, Paul!
Great video. I have a triumph and lifted the bars 3 inch with Rox Risers ride safe
Thanks Dyna! Glad you like yours as well.
Great install video. Improving your ergonomics should really improve your comfort on the next long trip. - Frank
Indeed! Thanks for the comment!

Yep, really glad my cables were long enough. Gonna change those out but, like you said, that's a whole other project. Thanks for the comment!
It's like professionals made this or something!
Love the self awareness that comes at 6:08 🤣🤣
Thanks CJ!!! We try. :-)

Now there's a guy who "gets" the struggle of being a RUclipsr! Thanks for the support, Mr. Mike!!!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Absolutely !!! Love the content ya'll create. Anything I can do to help ya out !!! 👍👍😊
I'm 6'2 and I seem to be leaning forward so would it help me of the risers were up and to me or just up some.
Easy fix. Give it a try. Thanks for watching and make sure to hit that like button!

Great tip, Francois! As you can see, Jason put a shop towel over his tank. But a big soft blanket would be even better! :-)
Are they gonna fit on DL650 v strom 2022, without affecting cables and brake hose, please advise, thanks

Very cool. No loctite needed?
It hasn't loosened so far. But no harm in adding a dab if you feel like it!
I've tried these on a 2012. brake lines too short (:
