I have Helibar Trackstars on my 2016 ZX10R. These along with Vortex 2.0 rear sets, totally transformed my bike! its an absolute dream on the street, and they actually improved my riding on the track. I don' t think there are any downsides to them. I know several guys who race Alberta SuperBike Championship running Helibars on Various Bikes.

@@sportbiketrackgear Agreed. I have neck issues, and the more relaxed seating position shockingly allows me to turn my neck farther, and see farther into the turns on the track. Did not expect that benefit, but is a game changer for me. I discovered this by doing a track day on a borrowed Aprilia Tuono V4 1100. After 20+ years of superbikes, I will never go back to the racer body position.

Nice work Brian. I'am old , I really like helibars. Installed vortex 0 degree bars on my R7 , next best thing to helibars and cheaper. 😁

The 0 degree bars are another option that will raise the bars a bit as compared to the OEM. - Van

What's going to be your new project bike? I bought my GSX-R 1000r when you started the series, and I bought a lot of parts from you that you did on your project bike.
Eagerly waiting for the next one, I might do the same as I did on that one.

FYI you can mount the helibars ABOVE the triple tree with NO mods, for an even more relaxed / hyper-naked body position. Been running my 1000-R like that for 3 years on track & street. Makes it the ultimate bike.

    • @sportbiketrackgear

I would expect raising the bars that much to cause issue with both the fairings and the controls. I am almost positive the brake lines would need to be lengthened. - Van

@@sportbiketrackgear Surprisingly, no issues and no modification necessary. We were shocked as well. Brake reservoir barely touches the windscreen at full lock. never an issue in 3 years and 18k miles with multiple track days. Love your company and videos. If you were going to do another street bike that got a lot of street miles (5-10k annual) would you a Gixxer with a Dirtbike bar conversion, or a Tuono V4 or Streefighter V4 or MT- 09/10 ? I LOVE the Tuono V4, but Italian reliability, short warranty, and parts scare me. Thanks.
