    Good review. Thanks for taking the time to make and upload. Very infomative. It would be interesting to know how this compares to the wunderlch marathon in terms of size. Update:: Wunderlich website states theirs is 18.9" wide (480mm) and 21.5 high (550mm). So yours is about the same height but 3.25" wider. Also wunderlich says their is 5mm thick. Looking forward to your thoughts on/after a test ride with it.

    The tall position provide proper coverage for touring. I have ridden r1200rt and this shield gives you about the same level of protection. I use a taller seat but if I was using the standard oem seat I would be about an inch lower and I would have even more coverage. Right now if I slightly look up the top vent on my helmet catches the draft and it can quickly cool you down if needed. It’s a good tall functional shield.

      Thank you for a review. Can you tell me do you notice any woobling (shaking) with this taller screen? Someone said that mounting system of this bike is too weak for a bigger screen.

      @@redbull4fly797 I had those concerns myself. However I did not observe any shaking or retelling or the shield giving in under high speed riding. If you see the video what they did was utilize the highest and lowest mounting holes and I believe this provides more stability to the shield.

    I have the tall touring screen on my RS, but had to add the MRA vario spoiler (touring version) to make it work (where it came up to my chin or just above it. Buffeting was still present without it. (I am 6’0”). Cost adds up that’s for sure. If you do this on yours keep the BMW rubber grommets in and go from there with the Aeroflow stuff.

    So how did the new windscreen work out. Are you happy with its look and performance? Can you make a quick follow up video?

      Yes sure, but in a nutshell without this new shield, I Would NOT have been able to tour on this bike comfortably. After having used this windshield I realized how much wind noise I was getting exposed to. Despite riding with a Schubert c3 pro. Another thing to mention is that my GoPro on chin mount didn’t pickup any wind noise so that also tells us that it’s doing it’s job. I generally have to put a sock on the camera mic. One thing to not is that in summer you are likely going to have to put it on the low position otherwise you won’t get any ventilation at all. I even noticed that with my recent trip to Arkansas, 50-60 temps, the lack of ventilation caused some fogging inside my helmet. This is not a fault of the larger windshield but merely a side effect of wind deflection so something to take note of. As for the ergonomics of the bike and style wise I don’t think it had an impact, this was just a foolish concern in my head.

    Could you, please, comment on how much this windshield vibrantes at diferentes speeds? Thanks

    • @ducatifever
      @ducatifever  2 года назад +3

      Interesting question 😊 so below 75mph it is solid above that it begins to vibrate thus causing turbulence the reason is the length of this windscreen when compared to the location of the anchor points there is just too much distance now one thing to note is that I bought the largest size that they offer so this analysis only applies to that perhaps the medium or short one might be more resilient at over 75mph speeds.

    So do you ride with your arm stretched that way???

    • @ducatifever
      @ducatifever  2 года назад

      Well… yes I guess not following what you are trying to get at. It is not an upright riding position on this bike. You can add spacers that being the handle up and back.

      @@ducatifever well your shoulders are locked, your elbows are locked, everything is tight and under tension. That's no way to sit or ride on a bike. How the hell are you're going to steer???? You have to move your body more forward and loosen your grip/arms and shoulders/elbows. It's a sport bike.

      @@schemkesa I see you point, not that was just to show the approximate seating position when riding of course it is different.
