I'm getting ready to buy my first OLED and I can't decide! I like the brightness of the Samsung S90C but I like the upscaling and motion of the Sony A80L, so where I'm at right now is maybe the C3 is that perfect middle ground between those two.

I just picked up a 2023 LG C3 65" OLED for $1200 BNIB. It's replacing my 2011 Panasonic 60" Plasma TV (1080p) and good LORD what a difference! I calibrated the TV, went through the settings via RUclips suggested settings and tricks/secrets, turned off ABR entirely, using a Service remote, and this thing is super accurate, and very bright compared to the Plasma, in a semi light-controlled room. Watching John Wick 4 in 4K Dolby Vision, and DTS-X is amazing. The color saturation and deep, rich blacks are real eye candy. Using a Panasonic UHD 4K Blu-ray player, through an Onkyo TX-RZ50 AVR is a fantastic combination. With WebOS, I'm wondering why I even bothered with the 4k Amazon Fire TV cube. This TV with eARC can handle just about everything the Fire stick or cube does.

Is it in direct sunlight? Is the TV in a subdued room? Which settings are you using now? I don't find mine to be dim at all, but I am coming from a history of an RPTV, then a Plasma, then this C3. I have an LED TV that's brighter, but that one is in a direct sunlit room, while my C3 is not. I don't even notice any dimming on mine, or auto-dimming.

Great info. The focus on the G3 here in the C3 review says a lot about how the G3 is LG's true generational leap is for 2023. I was able to get a $400 48" C2 at best buy when they launched their clearance in October 2023, and I can't imagine beating that price to performance ratio. Unless the LG C4 or C5 has an MLA panel, I'm set for several years at least.

Just got a 65" C3, relegating my 2017 LG 65" E7 to the basement (still gets a lot of use) and my son inherited the 2014 curved (3D, remember that) 55" OLED for his gaming monitor. All have performed flawlessly, never had an issue with burn-in, and the older two have 1000's of hours of viewing. One thing I will say, there is a 'break-in' period where after so many hours the picture does seems to improve, at least that was the case with the first two.

Your videos are very informative as I was looking at buying the C2 but seems to be out of stock in most stores thinking of just buying the C3 55 inch as I’m upgrading from a 42 inch display as you would know that the plasma has a border which equals to being a 55 inch in size.

@@ringgold478 bro there’s no reason to spend the extra 400 to twice the price for the c3. It’s using the exact same panel on both c2 and c3. The only thing that is better on the c3 is the Homescreen ui. It’s just a bit smoother. I use Apple tv 4k so that doesn’t even matter to me. It looks amazing for my ps5 too! Take it from someone who has both and compared them side by side, just get the c2. You will not regret it I promise. 🤪right now the c2 is 200 off on Best Buy too! Thanks for your videos. They're always a source of informative inspiration. In my opinion the visual differences between the C-models of LG are marginal. As I watched the C2 and the CS, which seems to be only available here in Europe (in my case Germany) and Australia, side by side in a local store, I didn't notice a major difference between those two models, as far as picture quality and features are concerned. Ok, the CS comes with the chassis of the C1 but even the a9 generation 5 chipset is on board and the panel with over 800 nits brightness refers to the EX Panel of the G1. So I decided to go with the LG OLED CS in 77" which saved me a few hundred bucks and I`m very happy with this awesome looking TV.

Good review. I tried one at home along with my current C2 when you set them up in their most accurate mode the difference is nill, more panel difference from unit to unit than picture improvement, they both are good, but my Sony 80K is better than both due to colors, processing, and color accuracy while some say its not as bright I've not found that at all unless you want something to blind you with brightness, and most people take them out of the box turn them on and they are done, and of course they are preset with least accurate settings as they do in all video stores so the TV's pop in bright lights. I have an older C9 in the bedroom and that looks good, though like many LG the colors are more pastel almost a warm tint, but then with all the poor QC each panel may look better or worse on all brands. No one talks about this in reviews. Funny also, they show one TV next to another and say see how much brighter the newer TV is, but if my Sony 80K is not bright enough I would not be able to see that difference well I do so my 80K must be able to play back a bright picture if the video is capable and streaming it is all over the place from app to app and sometimes day to day. TVs are better than what most of us watch unless you go direct to Blu-Ray, 4K discs then you will see how good the TV is. Reviews are for the most part to promote sales, but they don't give you the facts many of the times, their job is to entice you into buying the given set and there is nothing wrong with that.

OK so Samsung OLED tvs dont play Dolby Vision and LG dont play HRD10+ ex : S90c vs LG C3.
    But:
If DV is 12 bit and there's no 12 bit tvs yet, this means that LG really is not playing the full version of DV but instead it uses some tweeking technique like 8bit FDR ? Now this would be lying and you would be paying for a tv that does not deliver the goods plus the model C3 for example has less of a gamut of colors compare to the S90C .. adding to the problem of DV 64 millions or billions of combinations of colors that this tv is not able to show!
    Am I missing something here?

You can buy whichever you want but I would recommend saving your money and getting the 65in. Perfect balance between size and ease of transfer if you have a large enough truck/car, most modern cars can fit a 65in. Also the brightness booster is in everything but the 83in model.
