I want this knife so hard! It's going to be a hard choice when the time comes between the lrg inkosi insingo nat micarta. Whoa that's a long name for a knife.
I have a 940-1 (and an emissary) both knives fill my "gentlemen knife" carry well... it is a shame that the performance of these knives is not mentioned in this vid... as they both are exemplary... I have carried and used the S90V and S30V steel for several years now and when passing them over a ceramic stick, barely needed the touchup... still shave quality...
Surprised there are only 2 steel choices. Would sell more of the 940. Not everyone wants or needs S80V. would have liked to have seen it with CruWear or a less expnsive S____V steel....S45V, S110V.....S30V "works" but it's an old steel. ..
I do like the design of 940 but the price is ridiculous. If it's around the $100 range it would be great. I can't see myself spending that kind of money on a pocket knife that sits in my pocket 95% of the time. A more affordable pocket knife does the same job, just as good or even better.
By that logic, there is never a reason to own anything nice. Why buy a house when a studio apartment will do? Why drive a nice car when you can walk or take the bus? Why dress well when you can go to Wal-Mart? Why eat good food when you can order McDonald's? Something you clearly don't understand is that having nice things is nice.
Strongest lock? Seriously? Not a chance..........., I do like benchmade knives I have been collecting for 30 years but no sir not a strong lock , excellent knife but not strong.
While it is a test conducted by benchmade... you can look up a where they basically place the blade in a vice, and use a hydraulic press with a sensor. The hydraulic press stops when it senses a failure. I think it stopped around 700lbs.. and the lock didn't fail, the liner actually started to bend. I don't know it pound for pound it's the STRONGEST lock, but its plenty strong a lock.
Subjective af when you mention other knife designs. Not even a fun video to watch. Felt like I was at school. Axis lock designed for left handed equality, no. It’s a lock design that happens to provide ambidextrous use. SnG>PT.
There's no way the para 3 will take over the 2. I prefer smaller blades as well but the 2 is simply perfection.
LOTS of people agree with you!
HowAmI Obviously you have never held or used a PM2. 🤣
It's 3.5 inch blade
Prefer the manix 2 over both
The Shaman is my favorite spyderco right now.
The first steel was 154cm i believe
Great knife. I wish they would make one, size wise, between the 940 and the Contiego.
Very interesting review. I never considered getting one. Now I might.
The knockoff is better than the OEM - only $25 on Amazon.

How has that s90v held up compared to s30v.
I hear it's much better. Is it hard to sharpen?

Use eBay, watch the auctions, check ending soonest. I picked one up for 210. Watch for box and all. Just bid.
You have the knife "in hand" and you still can't spell "Osborne" correctly. . . .
I want a 940 and would love the carbon fiber with s90v but it's $100 more than the g10 version. That's way over priced imo.
I feel your pain!
yes but youre also getting s90v instead of s30v... so I mean youre not only getting a material upgrade in the handles, but also the steel...

@@SuperSteelSteve The axis lock is indeed the strongest only limited by the handle material it is installed in.
