Great review! But after using mine once, be warned: Don't make the mistake of buying MVST luggages. I found out the hard way. bought 2, both became defective after 1 use in light rain and became super hard to push. Wheels are designed very poorly where they move back and forth along the metal rod that it spins with nothing protecting it from debris. Debris easily gets inside and no longer glides smooth. Feels absolutely horrible now to push. All of my friend's luggages didn't have this issue. Poorly designed wheels and defective luggages. Customer support did absolutely nothing and was rude. They told me to wash my wheels often. How in the world did support muster up the audacity to tell someone who is struggling with their poorly designed product this!! :(
Glad the company reached out to you, but I suspect it's only because you have a RUclips channel with lots of exposure. The rest of us would have surely been ignored. The post-sale support definitely gives me pause. Thanks for keeping us informed!
I agree with your views on me having a RUclips channel. They have asked me to take down my old videos and put up new ones. But I think that people need to know the truth, not some sugar coated line of crap. We get enough spoon feeding from so many other sources these days, we dont need to add to it. On the flip side, its a good sold suitcase... I really do travel ALL THE TIME. I am here in Budapest for 3 months and then head to Eger and the to another city before dropping down into Romania and then down into Bulgaria. So I REALLY REALLY push these bags to the limit. I figure if it would last me 4 or 5 years it would be worth it... However, my first one didnt make it that long before breaking. We will see how long this new one holds out. I got a bigger one so I wasnt OVER filling it... Thanks so much for your thoughts and for watching my videos. =) Eric
hey Eric! how is the suitcase holding up so far? I've just stumbled across your video and interested in buying this but wanted to ask how your thoughts were ~3 years after
I think the bag was a -good- bag.. However, I could never get service for it and ended up throwing it away. I tried and tried and tried... But never could get help to fix a broken latch... Sad... They are expensive too... So make sure the bag you get has -reliable- service / repair numbers. Thanks for watching. Eric
decided to try a MVST suitcase and have had a poor experience, unfortunately. The suitcase got badly damaged in first check-in (with a “fragile” sticker on it!). It’s not just dents - the suitcase now wobbles and wheels don’t move properly. MVST says they won’t refund it even though it’s clearly a major quality issue, and they can’t replace it for 2 months, so I don’t have a usable suitcase and I’m down ~$500. I would advise caution people to stay away.
I would find another brand with a better guarantee. I had a broken clasp and wrote them over 20 mails and never got support. I even called and couldn’t get through. I think it’s a tough rugged bag but I travel for a living and really put it through some rough stuff. The bag was great, the support was not. Thanks for watching Eric
I broken and has been throw out in the trash. I couldnt get the company to replace the clasp or even respond to an email... So its a throw away. Find a cheaper bag that will last a year or two and then throw it away.... Thanks for watching. =) Eric
@@tyrasoberano7210 I think it lasted 2 or 3 times to Europe ….. but at this price point I would expect it to last 10 trips. So I think it’s better to buy a cheap bag, use it once, throw it out and buy another one…. :)
@@tyrasoberano7210 It was the clasp.... I figured it would be a 5 dollar fix but I tried and tried and tried more (I have over 50 emails I sent to the company asking for help) to get it fixed.... But I got no answers and no solution. So after seeing the bag sit in the closet, unusable, for a year I threw it away..... Broke my heart as the bag was strong and rugged and had many great features... But with the clasp broken it was 100% unusable.... Live and learn... Buy cheap luggage often... =) Eric ps - Thanks for watching my video. =)
Did you ever get your locks to work? I have not had any issues with my thus far... Have you called the office to see about getting support? I think they really stand behind their products. Eric
Hi Eric! Thinking of getting this as a check in. Was wondering on how the aluminum surface is. Does it seem like it will scratch easily? Trying to compare it to the rimowa stealth. Thanks!
Camille Navarro it seems very VERY well put together. The wheels seems stout as well. I don’t know about how scratch proof it is but will let you know after my first trip. I love the locks on the latches themselves. I also love that the top and bottom halves have tie downs. Looks great so far. :)
The bag is doing great. It is full past what I think is standard for its size. I literally have to sit on it to get it too close... However the hinges have not broken yet and the latches seem to hold it closed. I have a HUGE security strap going around it in both directions to keep it from breaking open as it goes through the plane baggage check systems. I will fly again here in about 4 weeks and have even more to cram in it than I started with... But it is holding. I think eventually it will have no choice but to break. I guess at that point we will find out exactly what is the breaking point of these bags. I did have to remove ALL extra items in the bag. So the middle holding compartment straps have been removed. It is down to JUST THE BAG ITSELF.... No straps, no center compartments, no anything extra. JUST THE BAG.... But I think eventually it will have to fail. I am currently in Krakow Poland. From here I head to Ukraine... I will take a bus to Lviv, then to Kyiv, then to Odesa, then to Moldovia, then to Romania and then to Bulgaria and then to Belgrade and and and and and... I will be forced to repack the bag each week for the next 13 to 15 weeks on my journey to Greece. I do expect it to break... Probably not based on the bag itself, just that I am OVER packing it.... But if it makes it through this year of traveling all the way til Nov. I will be VERY VERY impressed. Most of my previous bags would have broken by now... The only saving grace with the other bags is that they had the expandable zipper to make them bigger... They would have not been labelled 'carry on' at that point but they were flexible to expand as needed. This bag forces me to PHYSICALLY JAM everything I can in it. You saw from my last video that I have over 10 shirts, 3 part of jeans, 10 socks, 1o underwear, 3 pair of shorts, a wash cloth a towel, all my computer hard ware, a lunch box and much more. I am 6'4" tall and 250 pounds. my shirts are all XL. My pants are all 42X38... I am not a little 5"2" man by any stretch. My stuff is HUGE!!! The bag made it this far.... I will keep you and everyone else that is watching this video as to how long it holds up for, where it breaks at, and then how good the guarantee is on the product. I am here to TEST IT TO ITS FULLEST LIMIT in ALL aspects of its life cycle... =) Welcome to the world of Eric Clarks Travel.... =) My friends call my daily activity the "Clark Death March"... This bag will know the "Clark Death Packing" routine as well.... More to come... Hold on to your nickers.....
Nay Naing :). You will live it. I have CERTAINLY best mine up and down and all over and it’s still holding up. :). Amazing. So for normal regular standard type things it should last for two lifetimes. :). Happy I could help.
Really bad quality bags that break during the first packing, and then they refuse a return & refund because you don't have the box it came in, even though you're within the 30 day return window.
MVST select is worst company and worst logistic.Ordered and delivered wrong address and dont reply! Besides bad reviews for quality.Dont buy waste of money
