My mom side is dominican I lived there for 2 years its so hard not to gain weight over there with those kind of foods but because of how many fresh fruit and veggies there are its actually really easy to stay healthy too if you can control yourself.
Bunny Hunny The heat in D.R. and just daily exercise can make you lose weight fast though. Really just depends on your body and metabolism. When I lived in D.R. I rarely got sick and was at a great weight vs now in the U.S. I’m constantly getting sick and my body isn’t as fit as it was before.

This video just showed me how similar the dishes in the different Caribbean countries are, even if some speak different languages Caz a lot of these dishes look like stuff that I eat here in Jamaica. Like the Chicharron for eg, it’s just Jerk Pork here. But each country has their own uniqueness to their dishes and I wouldn’t try to take that away

Love it! When I was little and I moved to the United States I used to always tell my mom the food didn't taste the same. I never wanted to eat it and my mom would say " comete la comida es la misma cosa yo la cocino igual", but its definitely not the same! The food in DR is just so fresh. I have to lose 10 pounds before I go over there because I know not gonna stop eating!!!

@@m1sh474 I gave examples of foods they could have done instead of the sandwich, rice and goat meat because those are not the most common dominican street foods.
I didn´t say what you wrote was bad, I said they need to spend more than one day eating all of your recommendations. Like 3 or 5 dishes per day.

Interesting! Love learning about other latin culture and food. Looks like the chicharrón is similar to Salvi chicharrón. We also eat plantains, yucca, rice, beans. Likely has to do with near equator climate. Similar foods are grown, I guess.
They are the biggest foodies. Lol. I almost ate my phone😅 It looks soo delicioso❤ soon as I go back to D.R, I will go get tostadas and Los cuanto golpe(fried salami, mangu, fried cheese, fried eggs and some sauteed onions). Food heaven 😍😍😍
