Well, sometimes the milk get's bad because they take them out in batches, therefore a batch too big, and the milk goes bad. Also problems in storage. Milk was given usually before it went bad however there were no rules on giving the juice (frozen grape juice) before it's expiration date. I really think I once drank an semi alcoholic or at least fermented grape juice since it was way after the expiration date and I went slightly tipsy that date.
Yup, I grew up eating that food 🥘 We use to make a huge line just to eat at the Lunch Room. In my school the cooks used to grow the herbs in the school backyard and make sofrito. The food was DELICIOUS 😋
Wepaaaaaaaa Orgullo boricuaaaaaa🇵🇷 I live in Puerto Rico and I’m in 8th grade. Last year when I was in 7th grade, I went to “el comedor” to eat. When I was finishing my food, in the last bite, I took out of my mouth a 3-4 inches of boned hair. I don’t know if it was mu friends hair or something like that, but I don’t deal with hair in my food. So I’ve never went back to eat the school lunch. But i need to say though. That the lunch was one of my favorite meals of the day. It was made with si much love and it tasted greaaaaat🤤
"americans have been taught to expect so little" said marianne williamson, and videos like this prove it. the surprise on most of their faces says a lot because a lot of countries eat the exact same way as puerto rico and americans are stuck with food that might be half chemicals, have artificial flavors for the majority of schools. the only ones that may get decent quality items are highly funded schools in high-income areas. but even for me who went to a school that was in the suburbs of phoenix (scottsdale), the food was not up to par. i was served plastic wrapped bagels that were sweaty inside and grey colored chicken patties and beef burgers. i felt that it would be the healthiest decision to eat nothing but bagged chips. my mom noticed i was not eating at school and i would often work right after school so i wouldn't eat for the whole day until dinner, but sometimes i would work so late (they were 2 to 10:00pm shifts) that i missed dinner at home and i would pick up fast food half the time. american food is poisoning the majority of the population and it all starts in school and at home, at least for those who can't afford or don't have access to a sprout's or a whole foods. because of that, my family had to make room with money to buy better quality food since it affected all of our health so bad. from quoting marianne williamson at the start of this, i think people should vote for her because she will be the reason this changes. just look at some of her social media accounts and how she speaks about everything, i think it's remarkable. i envy puerto rico's school lunch and i just hope that we can get there one day too.
THANK YOU PERO LIKE for bringing awareness to Puerto Rican/Hispanic culture through your funny and educational videos! l love you guys! It is truly such a pleasure to watch content like this. Please keep them coming:)
Omg las salchichitas y esa jamonilla with the farinita for breakfast. I can never seem to find them anywhere. The lunch yup thats what it was when i went to school in P.R
What they don't tell you is the milk was in a bag, and if you were lucky you MIGHT get a piece of chicken if you weren't at the end of the lunch line. Plus they made the food fresh for the video for everyone. In real life: sometimes you'd show up for lunch and just get half a ration because someone's mom didn't show up to cook her batch that day.
Broki. My parents used to tell about the lunch they gave in PR and i thought they was just exaggerating cuz there was no way kids get to eat hella good over there and us in the US get microwavable food. Thats some bs😒
Yesss! US food sucked, I would get spoiled milk, rotten food, frozen food, small portions and a lot of it has ruined food that I used to love eating like kiwi, oranges, bananas, cucumbers and more. I’m honestly quite jealous of the delicious meals that they are eating. Making me hungry right now
We still have this lunch. As a matter of fact right now in the quarentine the school are preparing food to the childrens and old people. You just have to go to the school or send someone. When it comes to food we always #1😎😂
Dead ass tho NYC school lunch is just lazy half the time in my old school, they served a chicken pattie, a slice of bread and some green beans🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️and I found a hair in my burger once and got sick
Princesa_Almonte don’t get me started with that bum ass Pizza Friday. And those ‘platanos Maduros’ that are a disgrace to Dominicans and Puerto Rican’s food. Those are always drowned in oil or some shit.
J M Good luck. I couldn’t even stand the smell of my school lunch. School lunch ain’t get better for me until I reached high school. I ate a wrap every single day.
And to think that many kids just throw them away just because they "don't like it"! They cook deliciously and I would go religiously to lunch and eat this heavenly lunch!!
That is a shame. They should charge the parents extra for the wasted food. Growing up, we got what was was frozen burgers, pizza and chicken for lunch in school. And it tastes like it. Yuck! Grateful because it was sustenance to maintain us, but this school lunch puts ours to shame. For real!
As a Puertorican teacher working in a Public school in San Juan ,Puerto Rico, I can tell you that the food is awesome, but It all depends of the ingredients or food that is delivered to the school cafeterias. If pizza or hamburgers was the food that was delivered, that was the food that the students ate. The funny thing is that a lot of students don't appreciate the superb and healthy food that they get in the schools. The food is so amazing that I get leftovers for home. For that excellent food, I supervised students in the cafeteria, and I take care of the garbage. It is the least that I can do to help the ladies who work in my school cafeteria.
@@nomad4731 NO not at all! I meant that it could be my dinner because that's what my plate of food looks like! I live in America and we don't get lunches like that here.
I loved school lunches in Puerto Rico. When my parents divoreced my dad pretty much forgot about us and my mom wasnt able to work so we barely had food in my house and i would look forward for lunch time and the lunch ladies were so nice because they knew in the community who struggled at home wiht food shortage so they woulkd give the very poor kids like i was extras because the more privileged kids hated lunch at school and would have money to but pizzas and hamburgers off the food trucks that would be parked at the fence of our school. I never took for granted what i had at the time and till this day i am so grateful for those ladies who knew who needed food in their bellies as a means to just get by through the day.

Milk was given usually before it went bad however there were no rules on giving the juice (frozen grape juice) before it's expiration date. I really think I once drank an semi alcoholic or at least fermented grape juice since it was way after the expiration date and I went slightly tipsy that date.
I know how ti make the revoltillo and taste jus like like the one from schooll
Yup, I grew up eating that food 🥘 We use to make a huge line just to eat at the Lunch Room. In my school the cooks used to grow the herbs in the school backyard and make sofrito. The food was DELICIOUS 😋

Orgullo boricuaaaaaa🇵🇷
I live in Puerto Rico and I’m in 8th grade.
Derrick Rivera Oye mi loco estas en 8vo yo también y estoy aquí en el Portorro :)
Try living con mi madre, her hair ends up in my food, my cell phone charging socket, my underwear, & even my foreskin.

This is true. My culture is amazing. I am a proud puertorriqueña
I'm puertorican weeepaaa

Omg las salchichitas y esa jamonilla with the farinita for breakfast. I can never seem to find them anywhere.
The lunch yup thats what it was when i went to school in P.R
What they don't tell you is the milk was in a bag, and if you were lucky you MIGHT get a piece of chicken if you weren't at the end of the lunch line. Plus they made the food fresh for the video for everyone. In real life: sometimes you'd show up for lunch and just get half a ration because someone's mom didn't show up to cook her batch that day.
As a Puerto Rican that went to school in Puerto Rico I can say that yes this is what the school lunch is like. 🇵🇷🇵🇷❤️
I miss school food so much. They didn't mention that the schools offered breakfast too. Oatmeal, fruits, chocolate milk...God, I miss it!!!
Broki. My parents used to tell about the lunch they gave in PR and i thought they was just exaggerating cuz there was no way kids get to eat hella good over there and us in the US get microwavable food. Thats some bs😒
Sorry man... but it's still done to this day.
I'm sorry you had to suffer awful US food. You deserved better
En mi escuela en puerto rico (hace tiempo atras) podias repetir si quedaba comida para no desperticiar
My grandma was the head of the lunch ladies yaaaas mamnin
That’s so official...shout to all the Puerto Rican lunch lady’s feeding the chitlens!
Ivan is saying the truth in Puerto Rico that’s their school lunch I’ve also lived in Puerto Rico and the different menu it would go by the week days.
2019 and in my comedor they still cook like this. I study In Dr. Carlos and the lunch ladies are the BEST!
School lunch in Puerto Rico change is now all integral but is still pretty good
I'm 🇵🇷 and 🇩🇴. I wish i had back in the day school lunchs like that in New York
J M bro New York lunch is *TRASHHH*
Dead ass tho NYC school lunch is just lazy half the time in my old school, they served a chicken pattie, a slice of bread and some green beans🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️and I found a hair in my burger once and got sick
Whey what you are 🇵🇷🇩🇴 same ✌🏽🤘
Princesa_Almonte don’t get me started with that bum ass Pizza Friday.
Weppppaaa... 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
And to think that many kids just throw them away just because they "don't like it"! They cook deliciously and I would go religiously to lunch and eat this heavenly lunch!!
I know!! So SAAD!!!
Yup, I feel you. Fiel every day
I used to try but they always had returned me to the table and finish my plate i used to cry sometimes
That is a shame. They should charge the parents extra for the wasted food. Growing up, we got what was was frozen burgers, pizza and chicken for lunch in school. And it tastes like it. Yuck! Grateful because it was sustenance to maintain us, but this school lunch puts ours to shame. For real!
I'm one of those puertoricans that don't like the lunches, so I just bring my own food from home to avoid wasting the lunches
That looks good! My school had a super hard dry pizza, and soggy fries. With milk 😐
I'm older and had that same lunch. 😂
Candy cane 14 I’m not soo young either lol I graduated high school 7 years ago 😂
OMG!!! I'm getting Cuba flashbacks. The trays, the food just.....omg IDENTICAL! It might be a spanish speaking country thing

i went to school in hormigueros puerto rico and the food was sooooooooo good even breakfast was awesome!!!!!!
Dale like si vives en Puerto Rico🇵🇷:)
Yeeeoooo I used to repeat lunch!!!💕 it was amazing specially them ravioli they make💯 oooffff I miss Puerto Rico it's sad how it's getting worse in the streets :(

Well thank you !!! Still is so good! I was a teacher for 28 years and the cookers are fantastic. They try their best and the menu is made by a government nutritionist.
