As someone who only uses a smartwatch for text notifications, music/podcasts and occasionally using Google Assistant.....Ill always prefer the round shape! (Really wish they could work on those bezels though)
I'm only interested in round watches. I love the look and aesthetics of the Pixel Watch. And I've been tied to the Fitbit ecosystem for about 10 years now, but I'm not subscribed to the Premium. I'm already paying to buy the device, that should be more than enough.
I think the round aesthetic of the watch is beautiful and I wouldn't want it square. My main gripe with the watch is fitness tracking. It's not on the same level as my Garmin 255s for running even though everything is there in the PW to do so. Also battery life can't compete even though the PW is definitely doable. The PW is beautiful while the Garmin is a beast!
I have a google pixel watch and I was curious is yours fonctionning well ? because believe it or not I had 2 (google replace it and both are not working) it's unbelievable
I got this for $200 off of eBay. It is my first smart watch and I'm really enjoying it. I'm in the pixel ecosystem but I can understand some of the complaints here. For me though l, at the price I got it at, I have no complaints.
Coming from a string of Galaxy watches, the Pixel Watch 2 is absolutely preferable to me in every way. From the comfort, to the software and the way it handles notifications, to changing watch bands. I don't wear it every day, and I don't really use it for sleep tracking or fitness. It's not perfect, but as an overall smartwatch, it's easily my favorite so far. Also: Team Round Watch or bust. Square watches can go away forever.
I've had the Pixel Watch 2 from launch. The hardware (especially the CPU) is fantastic. It's efficient and responsive. My issue is the software. WatchOS should be smart enough to detect my activities and record them automatically. Please don't ask me to start an activity manually, especially for walks.
I still have the Pixel watch 1. I prefer this over Samsungs watch for one big reason. full access of all its features when pared with devices other than Google (in my case, Asus).
Got it with pixel 8 pro. I like it. I returned the first gen because the battery was so bad. I've had a few hiccups usually after software update where battery rapidly drains but fixes after a reboot. I'm upset Fitbit changed sleep stats layout though.
oh I'm happy to ready that i'm not the only one with problems, in the last year belive it or not I had 2 sense that I returned because the battery was overheating and 2 google pixel that are not charging lol i'm exhausted just to deal with fitbit and google.
Your video is 100% comparable to my experience it's the small things like now playing controls, and some things just feel half baked. But for fitness and aesthetics it's been a great watch! Love this review
Great review of the Pixel Watch 2! While the podcast issue might be niche, they should definitely address it. I love using my Pixel Watch 2 for: * Quick tasks with Google Assistant: timers, alarms, questions, shopping lists (Google Keep) * Navigation: maps with turn-by-turn or full map on my wrist * Payments: Google Wallet for cards & tickets * Fitness tracking: heart rate, hikes (altitude), workouts (Fitbit) * Sleep tracking: monitor sleep & weekly averages * Reduced phone dependence: calls & messages, less screen time * Alarm & Bed time synced * Google assistant to ask random questions when yalking to family and friends Overall, it's helped me be less distracted by my phone. Plus, the design is lightweight and comfortable. The only issue I had (GPS tracking) was fixed a few months ago. Battery life has been awesome, although I don't use AOD (use Tilt to Wake instead), +30h, sometkmes reaching +40h.
This looked like it was going to be a great review. But I stopped immediately when you mentioned paywall. I am going to go pick up a venue 3 instead. I am amazed that pixel has the cheek to set up a paywall even though this watch is pretty expensive for what you get. It's sad because I am a big pixel fan and use a pixel phone. But I just refuse to pay for my own data when I have already paid for the watch and the phone.
I agree a lot with your comment about the round shape. There is no reason for round-shaped smart watches. There are not any real dials rotating around a center axis. It should be treated as a tiny computer monitor screen.
I have the Pixel Watch 1 and really like it. Unique design, with also pretty unique synthetic woven bands. Integrates well with Pixel phones. I use it as my weekend watch. For weekdays I use the Galaxy Smartwatch 4. The tracking and functionality of the Samsung is definitely superior but the design is quite mundane.
I have a pixel but any android watch that works is fine. I don't care about the health aspect and a big screen is totally fine. I want good media controls phone calls and texting. My phone carrier is T-Mobile.
I prefer my Pixel 2 watch over my Samsung watch for many reasons. 1. It's less chunky, I also disagree about square watches, purely from an aesthetic perspective, I think round are prettier 🥰 2. I was having constant issues with my Samsung watch overheating. It would get really hot, almost burning and have to go into Safe mode whilst it cooled down. It finally exploded one night due to heat. 3. The charge time is really good. I only charge once a day, whilst getting ready. 4. I don't care about media controls so that doesn't bother me.
I still have the Pixel watch 1. I prefer this over Samsungs watch for one big reason. full access of all its features when pared with devices other than Google (in my case, Asus).
I used my credit from ordering the Pixel 9 Pro XL off the Google Store to get this watch + an additional band for like 20 bucks! Cant wait for it to come in the mail in a couple days, it seems perfect for my use cases
I like my pixel watch 2, but I don't tend to use it for most of its features. One of the annoying things that it's done lately is put itself and my phone on a permanent "do not disturb" setting and I have to turn it off manually. It'll set it when my phone gets in range of the watch as well if I decide that I don't want to wear it that day. I might have to look in the settings, but I like the watch, I just don't wear it as often as I used to.
Mir ist wichtig, dass es einfach ist, damit eingehende Anrufe anzunehmen oder welche zu starten (mit Bluetooth über das Phone). Zudem soll der Lautsprecher an der Uhr für die Gespräche laut genug sein. Was kannst du mir diesbezüglich sagen?
Please explain on what planet an all day battery is good for watch. You have to take it off every day to charge it. Either you charge it during your sleep and lose sleep tracking, or you charge it during the day and miss notifications. It's supposed to stay on your wrist. Even the base level Garmin Forerunner 165 lasts over a week.
Watches that are actual smart watches last a day or 2 like samsung galaxy watch, apple watch last 18 hours or google pixel watch. If you want glorified fitness tracker just buy a garmin or fitbit. Garmin doesnt have a proper tap to pay, doesnt have much apps and focuses mainly on fitness. Fitbit lacks proper standalone music apps and nesds to be connected to the phone for maps, music etc. Obviously more features and proper OS will drain battery. If batteey is main concern then just buy a casio g shock with batteey lasting 10 years, no need to charge.
The Pixel 2 is my first smart watch that cost more than about $50. Those cheap weren't worth the money. I have had the Pixel 2 for over a year and really like it. But, while the battery life is great, the time to charge is miserable. The watch when new would recharge in an hour or at most two. Just this morning it took 2 hours to ger from 54% to 79%. At that rate, when I use it down to 25% or so, it will take 5+ hours to recharge. And charging once a day won't work anymore. Can this be fixed ???
I got the original Pixel watch just because it's 150 dollars cheaper than the two. At first glance you can't even really tell the difference and after seeing this video I can see that the original pixel watch can do most of the things pixel watch two. There's definitely some upgrades on the Pixel two, but I don't think it's 150 dollars worth of upgrades.
I still refuse to even create a Fitbit account because of those paywall features, so it's just bloatware for me. I wish they released more first party watch faces with the feature drops too, not a lot of OLED friendly faces for those bezels.
I fully understand that square smart watches are more functional, but they are objectively worse looking. The round watches look more classy and better
While I think it's a lovely looking watch with great integration with Android. But till there battery life is the best part of a week, not a day! I'll be staying with Garmin... Cheers for the update.
why is no-one talking about how galaxy watches overheat? it looks like it's been an issue since watch 4 but even ultra has that issue, no it's not just getting hot when calling it goes into airpaine mode when you are trying to listen to a podcast via Spotify over LTE on a watch.
I don't know how much it fixes it but if you hold on to the forward or back button on media controls for music if moves back and forth nicely. Not sure about the podcasts though. But I do very much agree with you on that square watch point you made. Circular shape is just unpractical it's a wasted opportunity, all electronics inside and outside would benefit from the rectangular shape including the battery. There would be just more space for more capabilities. And yes, I 'am a Pixel Watch 2 user. I've been using it every day for around 6 months now. It's great and all the tracking is very good and precise compared to other smart watches out there. But I do wish they would go with the Apple design rectangular shape and have the crown away from the middle so it wouldn't touch the hand too easily.
Hello, I have a pixel 2 and it is my second the first one had a outbreak and never recover, I got an other one and believe it or not I cannot charge the watch. I tried with my computer, my husban's computer and also a charger. I'm the only one who got that kind of issues ? I'm not lucky because before those 2 pixel I had 2 sense fitbit and they were overheating. Maybe there's something wrong with me lol help me someone.
I use a Fitbit charge 6 on a pixel 7 pro atm but to get around the pay wall as well as having the fitbit i use the google fit app where you can set bedtime routines ext so what the teacker cant show me the google fit app can, not thoroughly as people would want but better than paying out i suppose as the app syncs with the watch the steps can be out if you leave your phone lying about whilst walking but tracks everything else
Yes google should give option of rectangular/square and circular watch dial. Some of them like squarish and some prefer circular shape dial. Also they should do away with that fitbit subscription and provide all features in the app it adds value to the product. It is so annoying man after paying premium for the watch you are prompted for subscription.
I felt down few years ago and because of my squared Apple Watch design I hunted my hand and it hurtled for a lot of months. I think rounded design is better also for this reason
I get your point about rhe square screen, and it makes sense, but personally I like more the aesthetic of the round shape. About the media controls, maybe they will fix it in the future... Idk if they "feature drops" like in the pixel phones, I hope so since I'd like to get one of these and I do like to listen to audiobooks
Don't assume everyone uses their smartwatch the way you do. None of the things you're talking about, positive or negative, are important to me at all. I want to know what the call quality is like, how well it works if I leave my phone at home, what the navigation functions are like. Basically, I want to know how it works all on its own, not how it works as a remote control unit for your phone.
In India.. esim on watch is not available... Charger is not available... Straps are not available... Wallet not available... (I'm happy with the watch tho... Until I lose the charger or break strap😅)
I am willing to bet the majority of these were part of the free ones people got during pre orders. If you could have snagged one for free I am sure it is fine. I would be interested to seeing how the OnePlus Watch compares to this.
I find the "sleep tracker" function of the watch so irrelevant!! It just seems like a "copout feature" to me! I simply can't see a time or moment in my life, where I'd sigh wishing for such a capability to become available lol.
Asthetic aside, round is a really bad shape for smartwatches especially when those watch running a capable os like wearos, if its running rtos, that would be nice cuz there nothing much to do, but when it come to watch that have a lot of functionality like this, the square form factor is the way to go
The only reason I'd ever get a Apple Watch is because it's not round. I wish any other company would actually make a smart watch that isnt' round and I'd snap it up straight away.
4:07 infuriating, not infur-IUR-ating it doesnt auto detect you're on a bike or a walk? ...i dont want a circular screen, how inconvenient to see info. gesture scrolling or using the crown is annoying, it should auto present everything. a square screen is the only shape that makes sense....no curved corners! ACTUAL SQUARE SCREEN W CORNERS or dont bother
I've just done a deep-dive on the 45 mm of the new Google Pixel Watch 3 - had lot's to say: ruclips.net/video/ZUty-ybf0GI/видео.html Hope it helps everyone 😀
Whoops! Apologies for missing the mark there and thanks for pointing out the correction. Video will be updated to remove that part so it doesn't cause confusion. - Josh

What kind of mic are you using bro?

Get the OPwatch 2r or the OnePlus watch 2. It is cheaper but has no crown and has nearly all the features of the pixel watch 2
I think the round aesthetic of the watch is beautiful and I wouldn't want it square. My main gripe with the watch is fitness tracking. I managed to get a used one in pristine condition (not a single scratch, seller claimed he barely even used it) for $165 and I love it too :D

@sh4unity204 Unfortunately, it's still limited. It takes a while to detect any activities, which needs a manual intervention.

How about the Galaxy Fit 3? Would you consider making a video?
I got the original Pixel watch just because it's 150 dollars cheaper than the two. At first glance you can't even really tell the difference and after seeing this video I can see that the original pixel watch can do most of the things pixel watch two. There's definitely some upgrades on the Pixel two, but I don't think it's 150 dollars worth of upgrades.

why is no-one talking about how galaxy watches overheat? it looks like it's been an issue since watch 4 but even ultra has that issue, no it's not just getting hot when calling it goes into airpaine mode when you are trying to listen to a podcast via Spotify over LTE on a watch.
Just bought it on prime day for $170, coming in a week, very excited
barely one day is not excellent battery life
When the base comparison is the Apple Watch, 1 day battery life gets considered to be good sadly
@@mikestiglic1880 base comparison to me is my t-rex 2 that gets 4 days with workout tracking. Over a week with that off.

Not fully, I've been using for a bit and the amount behind the Paywall seems very small
This watch has been fantastic! And my sub ran out a long time ago. The subscription to Fitbit is such a non aspect of the watch.
Does it have a light mode or is it constantly dark
Pretty much constantly dark in my experience so you don't see the bezel (which is large). - Josh

Why can't they design it to last for 1~2 months if you want it to?
Unless you want a brick no smart watch will come close to 1 month.
Hopefully the pixel 3 watch fixes things..
ROUND WATCH GANG PULL UP
6:10 i generally agree
Wait wait wait, this watch looks like my Apple Watch
Software wise ??
4:07 infuriating, not infur-IUR-ating
it doesnt auto detect you're on a bike or a walk? ...i dont want a circular screen, how inconvenient to see info. gesture scrolling or using the crown is annoying, it should auto present everything. a square screen is the only shape that makes sense....no curved corners! ACTUAL SQUARE SCREEN W CORNERS or dont bother
A circular design is good enough for notification, weather, tracking info etc. It's more elegant & comfortable.
Charger is a right load of shit. Many times I have carefully put it on over night to wake up to a dead battery
Oh weird. I never had this issue with the official charger. It locks in pretty good and I never have to worry about it.
lol there is 0 difference between the first watch and the second just a money grab by google
I need one
So thats a peace of sht this wach, one plus that they bought fitbit for acurate tracking thats it.

I've just done a deep-dive on the 45 mm of the new Google Pixel Watch 3 - had lot's to say: ruclips.net/video/ZUty-ybf0GI/видео.html
Hope it helps everyone 😀
I don't like this watch
I have a google one subscription which now includes fitbit premium so considering this to replace my fitbit sense 2 hmmmm 🤔
In Canada Google One doesn't include Fitbit Premium 🫤
2:22 samsung's galaxy watch 5 and 6 series both use sapphire crystal displays 🫣👨💻
Whoops! Apologies for missing the mark there and thanks for pointing out the correction. Video will be updated to remove that part so it doesn't cause confusion. - Josh
