For those who do not know, America said to Iraq that we have no objection if it invaded Kuwait, and after the invasion, America said, “What is this Kuwait? We must liberate it.” Also, Kuwait was taking Iraq’s oil illegally, and America told the Iraqi army and threatened it, if it did not withdraw, it would attack it, and the Iraqi army withdrew from Kuwait. America struck the withdrawing forces because they were easy targets. After that, it struck Iraq, and worse than that, it struck factories in Iraq that had no connection to the army, such as sugar factories, mills, canning factories, petrochemical factories, etc. And after the fall of Saddam, it did not contribute. America helped rebuild Iraq, and even appointed corrupt politicians because it did not want stability in Iraq. The President of Iraq demanded America’s exit in 2014, and America left, but it supported ISIS after that, so that Iraq would be forced to allow the Americans to build military bases inside it. We in Iraq, our demand is to partner with China in a way Chinese silk because it will contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq. We give China oil and it contributes to the reconstruction of Iraq. Iraq partnered with China, but America did not like that and incited the Iraqi people through its fake flags to demonstrate against this project. The prime minister who wanted to partner with China was overthrown because America wants oil for itself. Also, the antiquities of Iraq were stolen by Britain, Germany, France, and America........ I am an Iraqi residing in Iraq, and I was not a supporter of Saddam Hussein, nor did I ever belong to the Baath Party. It is known that during the era of Saddam, if anyone belonging to Al-Qaeda was arrested, the authorities would execute him, and this is a position completely opposed to Al-Qaeda .One of America's primary goals was to destroy the Iraqi army because it was classified as the fourth strongest army in the world, and it did not want the oil regions to be strong and armed in order to always remain under American control, which would ensure the continued flow of oil to them and control the oil market.

    • @8is

No, America wanted another strong pro-American Arab state to counter Iran (just like the Saudis, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, etc.). They legitimately just didn't think Iraq was going to tore itself up after Saddam was gone.

    • @RobespierreThePoof
      @RobespierreThePoof Месяц назад

Not quite accurate. The foolish idea was that by getting rid of Saddam Hussein, the US could install a democratic republic in Iraq which would be an ally against Iran and a model for prosperity in all of Arabia. It could use the oil revenue to create popular prosperity in a free society.
That was the idea anyways. There is plenty of historical evidence for this now. But two pieces of evidence you might remember: (1) the failed attempt to set up a new government was made first priority. (2) The US very quickly returned control of the oil fields back to Baghdad.
There's rarely any good geopolitical reason to deliberately weaken a country AFTER an invasion. It's always better to strengthen them in a way that helps the invading power pursue its regional interests.
In this case, the US interest was to try to create a model nation for a new way forward in the middle east - and to contain Iran.
But the way they pursued those goals was full of errors.
I'm sure there's some blame which certain Iraqis deserve as well - if they were in a position to influence the outcome. Certainly those Iraqis who continued to fight after the war was lost are responsible for their part in the failure. The US very clearly didn't actually want to be a colonial power. They wanted to leave quickly.
But George W Bush was a fool. When someone in Baghdad threw a shoe at him, it was a well-deserved insult. He was one of the worst US leaders in modern times. Very ineffective.

I am from Iraq, I lived under the conditions of this war and I woke up to the sound of cannons, machine guns and bullets. I lost two years of my studies because of wars, and now we live and we do not know by what moment we will die..It is true that we live well now, but my country is more than it is..and the Iraqi people are a good people. Karim, we welcome any country and any person we honor and feed them, and we give them clothes, sleep, food, drink and treatment free of charge for free. This is how we deal with our guests, not with our enemies, and we love peace and security for Iraq and all countries in the world with my regards .. My name is Ali

I am an Iraqi citizen, born in Iraq, and I am 18 years old. I was shocked by the amount of ignorance about Iraq in the comments, where people described my country as unlivable due to insecurity. The truth is that the situation now is much better than it was in the past (when America destroyed my country). Now, you can walk the streets safely without worrying about explosions, as some claim. To surprise you even more, we go to school, we have schools and universities, and we are among the most intelligent people. (Someone once told me, ‘You live in a barren desert,’ hahaha.) We have beautiful historical places like Samarra, Erbil Citadel, Aqar Quf, and Al-Mutanabbi Street (a street dedicated to art, literature, and books in Iraq). You can visit and enjoy them (we don't want people looking for oil because it has already been stolen). As for those talking about political events and recent wars, terrorism was completely eliminated in the entire country by 2017. Now, there is a reconstruction campaign across the country, and you can see the real Iraq through a video I will post in the comments.

If you are an American, you should be worried about what are the consequences of your actions (or inaction) primarily. To the extent that you can do something about it, like putting pressure on your government, you are responsible for the level of your inaction and/or active participation in your government's atrocities. If there is a god, and if there is hell, I sure hope that each and everyone that was part of this war to burn in hell for all eternity, the U.S government and military is responsible for all of the atrocities that happened and keep happening till this day, and I hope I can see them one day paying for all of their crimes.

The invasion was not a mistake, it was deliberate so they could destroy and destabilize Iraq for its oil and its immense oil wealth as well as to stop Saddam from selling oil in Euros which was good for Iraq because Iraqis were getting 15% greater pay for a barrel of oil, but bad fro the US, because it affected the petrodollar (which the US economy heavily relies on) and would take out value off the US dollar; in a nutshell, the American economy would be in tatters because Iraq dropped the dollar and is trading in the Euros.

Sadam was a bad MF dictator however he was against Wahabism from which AlQada adapted its ideology, Sadam had nothing to do with 9/11
Iraq was struggling to secure basic life necessities for it is own citizens due to US sanctions since 1991, no way Iraq was able to make or even buy WMD. Sanctions were very strict that Iraq was not able to import tractors at some point because they thought Sadam was using their engines for tanks
Sadam fought an 8 years war with Iran for US, technically a good friend of the US, however he was publicly anti Is***el ,one of the reasons they decided to end his role probably.
Weapon industry wanted profit, notice the end of the Cold War kinda of slowed down the demand for weapon so they had to create wars to make profit, tax payers money , also US made Iraq pay for the cost of the war so it is double win for them.
Strategically US fucked up in Iraqi big time , as Iraq now is an Iranian Provence.

Pentagon: we have just been attacked by al quedi in afghanistan!
George bush: we must retaliate against the afghans by whatever means necessary!
Pentagon: we will prepare for an invasion then.
George bush: wait, do they have oil?
    Pentagon: no sir.

Can we have "How the US stole...." series? The US stole a bunch of things from everyone, it makes perfect sense to start a season.

this video hardly scratches the surface of what us did in iraq. rape, torture, murder of innocent ppl by the army. even little girls being raped and then burnt down by the miliary men. nobody was there to tell them otherwise, they thought they'll never be caught. but today the human rights watch has compiled the vast amounts of war crimes that us comitted in iraq. extremely disturbing images and stories

Thats occurrences that happens in every war. That has nothing to do with the US government’s plans. It’s just something soldiers do throughout history.

@@g.2080 what are you taking about. When did i say anything about it being ok? The point of the video is what the US government did to Iraq, not what soldiers do in a war. The video was to inform why Iraq got invaded, not why soldiers commit atrocities. That happens in every conflict and thats not the point of the video.
