I have built at least 5-6 boxes for audiomobile woofers, we sold them at performance car audio and were early on the boat, no one had heard of them but in small sealed enclosures I was overly impressed with their performance and power handling. I want to say even in .5-.6 cubic ft up to a little over 1 cubic ft enclosure these babies sing. All my enclosures were in trucks/underseat/behind seat(new and old body Silverado/sierra, F-150, Tundra, etc)
Yes, I was also surprised. They were popular in the same time period as the heyday of SVS, and all of them were using TC Sounds drivers. The TC-designed Fujitsu Eclipse subwoofers gave us the Eclipse 4-spoke and 6-spoke baskets that were state of the art in suspension performance and internal clearance.
I had 2 Audiomobile MASS 2012's ran off a JBL GTO 1200 watt amp back in 99 or so. They were in 3.08 cu ft enclosures tuned to 27 hz and they did a 148.7 on the old Audiocontrol mic on the dash doors closed. Amazing sub and one of the first subs that could go past 20mm of x-max cleanly.
@@magno408_1 Believe me, I know and talk (and work) with several transducer engineers who would love to design products as beautifully executed as TC Sounds products, but they would run into the same problem TC Sounds had - in order to be priced competitively (even though still very high), they would not be able to make any money on the products. TC Sounds wasn't making enough on the products they sold, but they couldn't raise prices because they were already at the edge of what the market would bear. Would you spend $1500 on a subwoofer driver, not even including the enclosure? There was also a lot of wasted steel in the underhung motor assemblies, and TC Sounds would often use low-grade Y28 or Y20 ferrite magnets so they could stack four of them and have a lot of clearance inside the motor, and this was also visually impressive to customers, but it was wasteful and resulted in expensive magnet assemblies when the same magnet assembly strength could be achieved with less magnetic material.
I have 3 of the 10" GTS 2110 S2 in a 1.8cf net sealed box, powered by a SALT 2 amp. I have video of them going as low as 8hz on a sweep test. And they sound AMAZING! Deep, tight bass at all volumes.
I would love to be able to replace a car's stock sub with a decent aftermarket one that fits. I doubt that the factory amp would be able to make it hit but at least the new sub could be seamless in a factory mounted area.
I agree cone material controls the SQ of a sub. With that being said my absolute favorite sub for SQ, not SPL is the pioneer ts-tw12prs. I love that sub over my JBL 15gti, infinity kappa 120.90, JL w6, Eclipse Titanium, etc in the last 23 years of being in this hobby and I really hope their sub has the same sonic signature as that pioneer sub.
Ehhh this video is basically just an ad. Please include a portion with you guys testing/playing with it or something. This..... this is just an advertisement.
I have to two 10tw3d8 on a cheap hifonics burtus 5 channel. I am going to up grade I have two more I'm trying to find the right Amp for all four. Don't get me wrong it not hitting like my two 10in w7 on a 1200v3 but not. But it makes me smile when a good song comes on also I have jl zr 6.5 in front
Its about the same bass from both tw1 and tw3 only thing that changes is the mounting options for the woofer. If you want more bass go with tw5 13 inch shallow woofer
Go with 2 of these woofers, sealed… try to squeeze .8 cu. ft. For each woofer and do separate chambers… you won’t be disappointed, that’s coming from an installer that has built multiple boxes for multiple models of audiomobile, they are absolutely fantastic subs and a good balance between output and SQ.-kaeleb
its funny how information has changed from back in the day. today: mfg reps are spewing out data and technical info that the majority doesn't understand. back then: they let us hear the actual performance and leave all the jargon out. the moral of the story: customers today think they are engineers.
And it not fit in the enclosure…. This is a SQ woofer, not SPL… not even comparable. Audiomobile is designed for small tight spaces…. Not 6th order bandpass.
The skar vd series, pioneer shallow sub and the earthquake system line would be its closest competition as for frequency response and output in a small sealed enclosure. All of which perform very well for sq and way less cost
I think you're failing to appreciate the point of this driver. There are of course cheaper thin types available but often times you get what you pay for.
@@boominS10 you get what you pay for like gentleman bellow said. I’ve installed these subs, and can vouch for them better than a company that has rma’s stacked for years

Audio mobile is still around?!?!?! Wow! I didn't know that. The last time I heard about them was over 20 years ago! Welcome back Automobile!
I totally forgot about em!
Especially with such an overwhelming amount of brands and models lately.

The old audiomobile mass 2012 models from around 2000 are still my reference sub for sound quality.
That was a great interview!
Now I know where the “beef went!”..

I've got a 15passenger van.
I'm setting it up to where I can still have passengers and bass (road trips/bar hopping). Thanks for the vid!

That was a great infomercial. Now, we need real-world experience of those subs.
I have 3 on a Audio Dynamics k1500.1 in a crew cab truck, they POUND but super clean bass and very accurate.
Back in the day, AudioMobile / Crystal CMP underhung subs (made by TC Sounds if I recall) were some of the finest sounding SQ subs ever made.
Amen I remember going to the factory in San Diego
I wish tc sound came back
I had 2 15 CMP's and they sounded marvelous.

Include the 88 Eclipse alum series same driver pretty much. I'm still mad I sold my Mass, and Eclipse sub back in early 2000s
That basket on the new woofer, the 3200 series one, reminded me a lot of the old school Rockford punch subs.
Same basket used by Orion on the xtr,xtr pro, hcca and the intense lines
