The trust, organization and teamwork between the members of Depp’s legal team really stood out in contrast to Heard’s. With the exception of Michelle, the woman who managed their evidence, Amber’s team was constantly unprepared, disorganized, and never seemed to act in support of one another. But yeah Elaine made a lot of odd mistakes like the repeated questioning about muffins which really was pointless as well as simple mistakes that show she didn’t prep well at all, like clearly reading and saying the name of that facial cream wrong.

I can't imagine the intense pressure they were under to get the right outcome let along being under public scrutiny 24/7 when they'd never had that media attention before. He didn't hint that JD would waive the pay out, he said only that the money was not his priority, which has been said all along.
    And I seriously hope he does not waive it. I don't see any reason that he should - she certainly wouldn't have done so for him - and she DID cost him his movie roles, Pirates 6 alone was worth $23m. He deserved much more than $15 million ($10.3m) for the damage she wrought.
    Amber Heard should not get to walk away from making heinous false allegations to try and ruin a good man, and spitting in the face of true DV survivors with her lies - and have no financial penalty.
    I also do not believe she cannot pay the money. She has so much expensive jewellery and clothing, a massive house she could downsize, the insurance company seem to have been paying her legal fees (so she lied yet again about those), she kept nearly all the $7 million divorce settlement, and she got paid $2 million for Aquaman. She has money tied up in a 'family trust' presumably to shield her assets somehow.
    Pleading poverty is ridiculous. She just enjoys her lifestyle and doesn't want to have to live like a regular person who can't drink $1,000 worth of wine every evening. I hope she has to pay every penny she owes.

    • @Helgacabbage
      @Helgacabbage Год назад +22

      @@larushka1 But as I understand it, the appeal will not be a trial, he does not have to do anything or take the stand, it is appellate judges reading through the case files and checking for points of law that were not followed, so pointless for him to waive anything.
      They have no grounds.
      It would need to be something truly egregious for the judges to rule she has grounds for a mistrial / retrial, and we know there was nothing. She even won one of her counterclaims, so any suggestion of partiality or bias cannot stand.
      Also, it is not a win-win to let Amber off her judgement. It would be just an undeserved win for her, and he would have lost six years, movie roles, a damaged reputation and suffered a still ongoing smear campaign, as well as being saddled with huge legal fees he isn't paying for via home insurance policies. Besides helping Johnny win his suit, arguably Benjamin Chew's greatest triumph was rehabilitating the image of the entire legal profession with his authentic humility - he was the antithesis of your stereotypically morally-inflated, obnoxious attorney puffed up on their own hubris (hope you're taking notes, Ben Rottenborn). Also a shout-out to the unsung efforts of Wayne Dennison - his surgical strikes methodically chipped away at the defence and exposed the hollowness of the defence witnesses' testimony.

If there is any take away, that would be it. And that men can be victims of DV as well. This is interesting. I was a stay at home mom of two kids. I helped put my ex through school, worked my butt off, helped start and grow our business. It was a 24 year old marriage and instead of getting any assets I asked for spousal support which was written as permanent. I had two lawyers look at it because I had done the paperwork myself. I am not a lawyer. A few years went by and my ex decides he doesn't want to pay me anymore , hires a lawyer, and creates a bunch of tax returns and tells the woman judge that he can not afford S. support anymore. On my divorce form I should have written non-modifiable but was not told that by my two lawyers. I had just received a serious injury and could not work and had all kinds of medical tests that I turned into the court along with my doctor's declaration. I go to court and the judge took all my support away and told me that I needed to get a job. She thought women who did not work outside the home were lazy. I was stunned because I still had two kids at home . The next 6 weeks I was selling everything I owned to pay my rent and support my kids. My ex was never even interested in having the kids which is why I had full legal and physical custody. My ex reminds me of Amber in so many ways. There is no doubt that women who have children and want to keep a career are going to work through many issues. I am in awe of women who are able to succeed and also be great moms. Both require such inner strength. I hope you had alot of family support!!
