- To get 24 hours electricity in nigeria is hard but not impossible. How much will you be willing to spend just to end your electricity headache? In this video, I shared how to size your home and know your essential energy requirement which includes solar panels, inverters and batteries. Armed with that knowledge, you can get dirt cheap solar inverters for yourself and say bye bye to NEPA (national grid) trauma.

If you have questions about how to get the cheap inverters, leave it in comments section.
This is exactly what I have been using in my house for a couple of years now. I have been using 1kva pure sine wave inverter (at peak power gives me 2,000 watts (2KVA)), 200AH lead acid battery but I upgraded it to 208AH lithium batteries last year of which I built them by myself, I added 600watts solar panels (200 watts each) with a 60A 24/12v solar charge controller which is for lithium batteries as well. The experience and benefits have been so awesome.
I run two 32 inches TVs, 2 ceiling fans of 70 watts though I don’t switch to last speed, I recently bought two DC fans of 10 watts each which reduces consumption of battery drastically but with great speed and awesome wind.
Not to talk of always having light to charge our phones and work with my laptop computers any time I want. Lithium batteries are greatly better than lead acid batteries if you can invest in them. Lithium cells last longer than lead acid cells, you cannot use lead acid batteries below 50%, if you do, the batteries gets degraded but you can use lithium batteries down to 10% just like your phone batteries without issues but that is not the case of a lead acid battery.
You can go for such a great system, great advice sir.
Thanks for the breakdown. Please what the cost of building the lithium battery? Where can one source for the components? Thanks.
Wow! Great. 2 TVs, 2 ceiling fans, light bulbs etc is all you need constantly 24 hours a day. If you have a good fridge, you won't need to keep it on daily. Lithium battery is the next thing for me. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am about venturing into this. How many hours does it last for you in a day?
@@latitudespace hi, I need a system that can power my home theatre and a fan?
lithium are expensive lol and not worth it for some of us. I prefer lead acid, it's cheap and it can last 3 hours lol, that's good enough for a $80 200 am batterylol. not a bad cost
This Solution in 2024 will cost cost about 800k. How time flies.
No be small thing.
Excellent presentation 👏
Thank you so much for sharing

This is a good idea about having electricity at home 24/7. I will definitely try it out. Thanks.
Good idea, I've actually been looking for noiseless energy ...thanks
Thanks. From Sierra Leone
Thank you very much sir...
Very awesome. You should be a lecturer. So articulate, so patient. Thanks
Nice
Thanks for the mind exploit.
This is an interesting information and an eye opener..thanks so much sir..Will be interested in getting this product..
Am really looking to swap to this solar matter...thanks for this
U have a very lovely method of analyses
Thank you
I need this thank you
Thank you sir
Wow. Wow. Wow. Just wow! Your delivery is so wells illustrated and enunciated Sir. Over the years, I've spoken to a number of engineers before searching for this video coz I needed enough information (or should I say, guidance) on this! Sir, your calm salesmanship here really did serious justice for dummies like us o! Thanks!
I really enjoy your lecture on electricity,i will love to enjoy free 24 hour electricity in my apartment
Thanks a lot
best presentation so far on solar. i'm going to glue to your channel because where i live no NEPA at all.. i run gen 24/7.
Applying this 👌👌
Thank you
Thanks for the breakdown... even 500k for the entire thing is not bad at all, its still very reasonable.
As someone who has lived abroad for 15yrs, i think budgeting $5000 for Solar is not bad at all, my friend's are complaining about having to buy diesel all the time and its frustrating
This has to be the simplest explanation I've gotten since I've been in search of answers on solar inverter systems. So straight to the point and no technical jargon
Good
Waw, that's very amazing because we hardly have electricity
Great move
I think you are an amazing teacher 👍🙏🙏 very informative content. Thanks for that.
Thank you Babatunde
Cool
Thank you sir.🙏🙏🙏🙏🤝🤝🤝🤝💃💃💃🏃🏃🏃
This technology is good and affordable. I need it.
Very wise
Bro, you're a solar professor and think hi iu should start a solar energy training class because I'm 100 percent certain you'll be number one in the Nigeria renewable energy system
Electricity in Nigeria is a no go area. Solar is the the future. Nice one.
You're the best i swear you should be a lecturer 😊
This is surely a great analysis, 👍 but there are some things that you didn't put right 😉
When it comes to using solar panels and batteries with an inverter, it's important to understand their roles. The solar panel's main job is to charge the battery, just like how you can charge it from the grid. The battery acts as a power bank, storing the energy for later use.
Now, when it comes to extending the number of hours that the inverter can provide electricity, it's all about the battery. The capacity of the battery determines how long it can power your devices. So, if you want more power for a longer time, you need to increase the capacity of your battery.
One way to do this is by adding another battery and connecting them together. This is called connecting them in parallel. By doing this, you're essentially combining the power of both batteries, so you have more energy stored up. This allows the inverter to provide electricity for a longer duration, giving you extended backup power.
I hope that explains it in a simpler way!
Wow
This is great
I understood this better than the video
But my question is , does it mean the more solar panels = the faster is is for the batteries to charge?
This particularly was my concern
@@amboniamboni7 @Destinyedwin The more solar panels the more it charges your battery very quickly. If you hv large batteries with small panel... It will longer time to charge those batteries. You hv to get large panel that can charge the panel during the day time quickly.
Thsnks for this , its really detailed but please, does the mean the more the panel, the faster the battery charges?
And does it charge even while you use them?
One of the best educative information I have had over time thanks a lot. If you're a mathematics teacher believe me every one will do well
Thank you 😊. I studied mathematics but failed many times. Lol
Thanks
Wow. This is wonderful sir. God bless you sir for this video but now seeing that everything is now expensive now how much will the one that cost 300k+ then cost now?
What a mind blowing presentation, thanks for this eye opening.
Thank you for the comment
This is nice all I need is for my fan and television how can I get it?
The moment I heard NEPA, I knew which country it is 🤣
Thanks for your video
I'm currently using
- 220ah - tubular battery
- 500W - pure sine intverter
- 30a - charger, connected to NEPA - no solar yet
My appliances are:
- Starlink internet x1
- my PC x 3
- phones
- LCD TV
- Fridge
so I'm thinking of getting two 300W solar panels and then one more 220ah battery with charge ctrl - what I'm I missing?
I'm gonna buy a Fan !!
Nice. Can you use solar panels directly with inverter without batteries
Will love to have a means of personal communication for more information
Concise and unambiguous. Very well done. What places do you recommend to acquire these components, please?
Thank you. Ask people that have solar to refer you to a good and trusted installer. You can ask any solar installer for quote for 1kva pure sine wave hybrid inverter, 200AH battery, four 150W solar panel. ask about 3 to compare prices. Most installers will want to sell you a big inverter to make more money from you. Unless you want to power your fridge and AC in inverter, you dont need anything bigger than 1kva
