    Great Video. I will advise you to expand your panel so that it can run your entire house off-grid during the day. Your battery capacity may be insufficient to run your house through the night, so you may switch to NEPA and use the battery as back-up in the case of a power outage. That is the way I run my house, although my system is bigger than yours. I have an 11kw inverter and 20 panels of 465 watt (9.3kw). In the morning by 7am, I turn off NEPA control switch and allow the panels and battery to run the entire house. In the evening, by 8pm, I turn it back on as I have the same battery size as you (10kwh). I also advise you to get an induction cooker and ditch your gas stove to maximise your solar investment and eliminate the risks associated with gas stoves (pollution and respiratory diseases, gas explosion). Congratulations on your energy independence. it is worth every penny.

    • @youtube_it
      @youtube_it 5 месяцев назад +1

      Do you actually need an 11kwh inverter?

    • @1982757
      @1982757 5 месяцев назад +12

      @@youtube_it Hahahaha. Yes. It is advisable to get a bigger inverter if you can, for future expansion. Initially I was using 5kw and thought it would be enough. However, I quickly realise that I have to do load management to avoid going over the 5kw limit. For example, I will be running my 3.5hp AC, my wife will be cooking with the induction cooker and may microwave at the same time. This is in addition to the base load of the house which is about 1200w (All the fridges, freezers, computers and TVs). The total load easily reaches 7 to 8kw sometimes and I don't have to worry about the circuit breaker tripping. So, if you want to comfortably go off-grid, you will need a big inverter.

    • @youtube_it
      @youtube_it 5 месяцев назад +4

      @@1982757 But it doesn't make sense if your house loads aren't close to the inverter size. It's an unnecessary expense.
      The average power consumption in an hour of a Nigerian home isn't more than 5kwh.
      It's advisable to have more batteries instead

    • @1982757
      @1982757 5 месяцев назад +10

      @@youtube_it You are not wrong in your statement. The crucial info is if your load is not up to the inverter size. Load assessment is critical to inverter sizing. However, such assessment should take into account the need for future expansion. And remember that I said, "if you can afford it". Also note that most 5kva inverter has a max output of 4kw because of the power factor which is 0.8 for most systems. So, that must also be taken into account. I have given you a rough analysis of my load and why I went for such inverter sizing. It definitely will not apply for most people, but I factored in the need for future expansion to make my life easier. I will soon add a dishwasher and electric dryer😁😁😁

    • @youtube_it
      @youtube_it 5 месяцев назад +3

      @1982757
      True though. If you have the funds you think it's worth it.
      I don't think I would install anything above 5kwh. Moreover, there will be rare cases when I would have to put on all the appliances I have. I can always wait to finish one item first before putting on the other.
      I can just turn off the AC in order to put on the water pumping machine for example.
      Anyway, I think I have to finish building first 😀😂

    We use a 6.2kva inverter system with 4 tall batteries and 10 400w panels at home and it gives us 24/7 light. If you buy the materials yourself and call a company to assemble it for you, it will cost wayyyy less!!!. Everything we spent was 2.9m and we are always having light. Not all solar systems break the bank, it's like branding. That's why fisayos system is this expensive.
    Don't let the price point you're hearing now discourage you. Please do your own findings and get an inverter system now. It's totally worth it!

    This is beautiful and there obviously a huge market for it even though its not affordable, based on research sha i think the best place to install lithium-ion battery anything is in spaces with minimal risk to property and life. I would build a shed outside the house and install there. Obviously these inverters look like they have an incredible build but mehn... from what i have seen the thermal runway of lithium ion is UNCONTROLABLE. If the fire starts it doesn't stop until its done.

    For most people, the value from purchasing an inverter depends on individual needs. For someone whose work (fisayo) requires reliable electricity, an inverter can be justified by the value and profit it brings. However, for me whose work doesn't need much electricity the investment may not be worth it. So, the value depends

    • @1982757
      @1982757 5 месяцев назад +12

      Hmmmm. You know, they say energy is everything. I don't know what you do, but energy independence and reliability takes you to the next level regardless. If you are married, even if your work does not depend on electricity, your family may benefit from it. Think of never having to worry about food spoiling in the fridge, constant cold water during this hot period, no mosquitoes biting your beloved children because of constant fan and AC, no Band A or B or C. The benefit of solar and battery back-up can never be overestimated, and can only be appreciated once you get it. I have solar and battery back-up and have converted my house to net zero. I dumped my gas cooker for induction cooker and with this single change have eliminated the risk of gas explosion, rising gas prices and respiratory conditions from inhaled pollutants. A recent study has shown that gas is the single most important cause of air pollution in homes even hours after the cooker has been turned off. I work at a hospital and see people brought in on a frequent basis with burn injuries secondary to kerosene and gas explosion. So, until you get solar and battery, you will never know the good you have done for yourself.

Does it constantly charge via the solar panels, or do you recharge the batteries with alternate power like your generator set or NEPA?
    You also didn't state how many hours of charge you got on your 15kwh setup with all the listed appliances in your home. That would be good to know.

    Its a beautiful solar device but apparently in todays Nigeria is a little above Nigeria Middle class price point a payment plan of about 2-3 years would work wonders though for the companies to think about introducing 😊

      @@iconic6033how much do you pay for light monthly using AC, water heater, microwave, fridge, freezer, Iron, Blender. Those are the basics in such homes in Nigeria. I'm interested in knowing how much you pay because I have lived in some African countries too. I don't know many people that have AC or can afford to install them in all their rooms like most Nigerians even nanny room get AC, use iron and they hardly install water heaters in their homes, and having a fridge /freezer on everyday is luxury. Please how much is your bill monthly using those appliances I listed?

    hmmm 🤔
    At my house in Zimbabwe, my house, my 3kva system runs 2 fridges, a meat freezer, 3 TVs, 12 lights, 2 desktop computers and 2 laptops. It has 2 X 3kva batteries and 4 X 510w mono panels and installed all of it for just under $3000 USD, not sure how much that is in Naira, I use gas for cooking and I don't have a washing machine or dishwasher, I'm 100% off-grid

      @FERESE 5 месяцев назад

      Nigerians install AC in all rooms including nanny rooms but they wouldn't use inverter for all AC, microwave and washing machine is a must in such a home. You didn't mention AC and microwave. I think he spent about $4800 for everything. Remember he bought 5kva And he uses AC. There are cheaper brands in Lagos too. Just like you have brands of phones. Huawei is not cheap but the warranty speaks for itself. So put all that into consideration.

      @@FERESE microwave works no problem at all.
      For $4800 here you'd be looking at a 10kva system at the least, but if you really dig around you'd be able to get at least a 20kva system

    I invested more in regular gel batteries (4 pieces of 220amps each and a 1 kva inverter with 12 panels of 250 watts each. The only thing I can't power is the freezer and the pump machine but we have an average of 6-8 hours of Nepa light per day so no worries about that.

    Can you do a capacity test to see the amount of energy you can drain from this battery before it gets empty! Because most of most of the lithium batteries brands on the market don’t pull out advertised capacity thanks.
