#artexercises #drawing #ARTSchool
oh Hi, it's a miracle there's a class this week, uploaded this on the slowest wifi hotspot on the planet but I did it! Alright back to packing! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, you MUST.
;)
For some reason I've been looking for your background music
My school holiday ends this weekend....
Where are you moving to Marc? Hope it goes well 😁
I’m moving too
The ten exercises:
1. Long, continuous curves. Go relatively fast. Close together as possible, but never touching. Make it harder by going faster. 1:25
2. Circles! Use your elbow rather than your wrist. Start by tracing a plus or a symmetry line first to help. 1:59
3. Pressure dexterity. Use a basic brush with pen pressure. Practice fine to very bold strokes. Make the transition smooth. 2:34
4. Draw long, straight lines. As straight as possible. Horizontal and Vertical. No wrist strokes! You'll know they're good if you get even squares and rectangles. 3:32
5. Color blending. Take two very different colors, and blend them as smoothly as possible. Start with a smooth edge brush, then switch to hard edge brushes. 4:10
6. Draw ribbons. Two lines, offset, joined at tip to form long narrow rectangle. Good for practicing hair and perspective. 5:00
7. Draw circles, but now make them spheres. Introduce vertical and horizontal symmetry lines. 5:21
8. Draw a square/rectangular plane in perspective. Find the center. Draw an x between the corners to test. 5:53
9. Draw simple boxes, or hard ones if you want. From different perspectives. Try drawing the same box from different angles. 6:55
10. Gesture drawing. People, animals, anything. 7:25
Tysm!!
Thanks 👍
stop spreading lies
@@glaiv4 Go away troll.
thank you
In love with your tutorials.your contribution towards many aspired artist is wonderful.
Completely agree with Marc's recommendations. Drawing lines, hatching/cross-hatching, circles, and pressure control will take you far in confident lines. Doing boxes (drawabox) in 3-point perspective and doing quick gesture/figure drawings will take you to the next level.
Can agree, my art improved a lot once I understood how to draw simple forms from different angles. Now I feel like Im sculpting in 3D but on a 2D canvas
* noting this for me
1:28 - (1) pen control exercise
2:03 - (2) draw the fundamental shape *circle*
2:37 - (3) practice pen pressure "important for digital art"
3:34 - (4) stroke dexterity: draw straight vertical lines
4:11 - (5) pen control: color blending
5:00 - (6) drawing skills: draw ribbons
5:22 - (7) drawing the spheres in different angles
5:55 - (8) understanding of volumes: depth perception
6:58 - (9) the fundamental of construction: draw simple or complex boxes
7:26 - (10) gesture drawing *for anything* to simplification a complex structure
The FINAL video of youtube art school..
*In this studio*
Ngl had us in the first half.
Marc-sensei, may I please request a video on fluidity? It's something I've been struggling with for a while now, and you're one of the only artists on this platform who's lessons I tend to understand the most. 🙏
It's crazy how you can see experience shine even in such simple exercises. I struggle with all of these and yours look so insanely clean.
This is so random but Marc just exudes the friendliest energy
Lol fr
Am really glad I found this page.
Ever since I came across your video in 2021 I've seen huge improvement on my arts now.
Thank you Marc👐🏾
I was thinking a few days ago that I would really love more things on drawing exercises and you delivered! Thank you for being a great teacher!
I recently started your art course and I gotta say I’m blown away with the depth you go into the content, and I can already see myself improving!
update on course pls
The BEST part about this video is the fact you add in vital information about how we use our bodies to draw. We need more of this type of content.
That's why I subbed this channel
I will miss the old studio... But I can't wait to see how the new one is gonna look like! Nice work Marc I love your content!
Just ordered my first graphic tablet yesterday and I've been surfing youtube for an all-in-one channel as I haven't been drawing for years so I wanted to start with the basics.
Thanks for the content!
I hope the move goes smoothly marc, thank you for another great video!
Just got back home from a trip and ready to draw when Marc uploads this is a sign to go hard on art
Does RUclips Art School apply to both Traditional Artists and Digital artists?
Nice tutorial as always Marc, keep up the good work! I'll miss the old studio as much as I'm excited for the new one!
Just got my new drawing tablet a few days a go (my other one broke) so this is gonna be so helpful thanks
Me quarter after midnight: okay that's enough drawing for today, time to get some nice sleep~
Marc: GET YO ASS BACK HERE. DRAWING. EXERCISES.
😭😭 love you teach
The subs translated that into "for Zelda" so, I believe Marc reached the fourth dimension of the Tri-Force by the time he made this video, which explains his time-travelling abilities.
Oh gosh, it's true, he's packing his stuff. Safe travels Marc and family 🙃
2:08 looks at those perfect circles...
3:54 I need an anchor, sensei. The world moves when I try that exercise ⚓😖
Nice exercises. I'll make sure I do the 10th the most because I'm still struggling with "stiffness" in my poses.
Don't forget to pack the explosion FX when you leave! Your videos wouldn't be yours without that BOOM. Michael Bay would agree 😆💥➡💼👋

please marc, don't scare us like that!
As usual, thank you so much for your tutorials. In just a few months I've noticed a huge improvement on my art. Just this week I got my first professional collaboration offer for an online store!
I really appreciate your work, is thanks to you that I learn to draw, truly thanks man. Blessings from Cuba ✌🏾
Oh my .. That is what i am exactly looking for! Every time when I watch your lessons and try to practice I realized that I need to back to basics and you give it to us. Fantastic! Very appreciate that you spend your time to teach us. Hope one day join your class.
I've been looking forward to this kind of tutorial for a long time!
My ADD brain does not like most of these. I mean I understand and appreciate the value that these exercises would give you. I was a martial arts instructor so I know how to do the same thing over and over and over again until it’s perfect. Which means doing it for eternity. This is just the kind of things you have to push yourself to. It’s not the kind of thing that compels you.
This raises an interesting question. I was taught in the martial arts that there are 10 different ways that somebody can learn something. Some of these ways will be stronger for some people and some of these ways will be weaker for some people. Of course everybody has to do repetition. That was number four. That one is unique because it is guaranteed to yield results regardless of whether or not it is one of your primary ways of learning. Still though the same task can be much more taxing for some people than it is for others. Is there a way to practice these fundamentals while making pictures instead of just practicing them by themselves? A way to disguise the exercise. I think that could be a fun video idea.
Draw pokeballs
Great video Marc as always, I feel I'm getting better day by day thanks to your tutorials, they are easy to understand and fun to watch.
Bearded Marc doesnt exist, he cant hurt me......
Cant thank you enough for all the inspiration you have given me, havent touched a pencil in 7 years and now i have been drawing nonstop and watching your videos every day. Learned so much from you, all my friends have told me ive improved crazy much this last few months😊 thanks alot, amazing classes!!!
Marc: Draw curves as close as possible but not touching
Me: Ok
Marc: With your ELBOW not your Wrist
Me: 👁👄👁
Seriously, all your videos have helped me grown as an artist & a person. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to your channel and school❤️
Yep... it's me again.😮💨
What pen he use for most of this? Like what texture? Is it mechanical pencil or regular pencil? Mine look so different so idk. I'm new to digital drawing. Also i would love some help with the brush thing for step 3 mine doesn't seem to care about the pressure even tho i have it tied to pressure... On top of that using thick paintbrushes makes it lag behind, it's really bad... Guess my PC is bad for this...
Goodbye old studio, I’ll miss you 😢
i like how in-depth your tutorials are. :) also, it's no wonder you have to move, you keep exploding your studio in every intro you make...XD
STOP SKIPPING OUT ON YOUR CLASS FEE!!!!!!! Just because you are already subscribed doesn’t make it free
These are all great exercises! But I cannot seem to wrap my head around exercise 8 lol.
thank you for this. seriously.
Fwiend!

Thank you so much for this video, i tried these exercices on paper too while inking my draws..
It worked very well !!! It helps a lot specially since i have a problem with my trembling hand during drawing.
I like the look.
Now let's get into this class!
Good Luck with the move 😎
Initiating a new era 🎊
Speed!!.Ngl..you got us scared that this is the last YT class😂....Right on time, just have to finish a sketch this morning and this will be helpful as a warm-up exercise before going bananas on my sketches..I give my deepest gratitude my dudes! ❤️🎨
Hello Marc :)
is there a way to download/buy the Perspective Brush from your "7 MIND-BLOWING DIGITAL ART CHEATS" video ?
*_Circles._*
*_Then I still try to figure out my elbow movement because of the lineart._*
*_I'm still heading for an ink approach (Pen. The true sorcery of SHADING.)_*
I know this is an old video, but it was uploaded before I started art so I'm gonna give myself a pass for this question: how much should I be doing this? Are we talking something like x minutes a day per exercise?
Completely agree with Marc's recommendations. Drawing lines, hatching/cross-hatching, circles, and pressure control will take you far in confident lines. Doing boxes (drawabox) in 3-point perspective and doing quick gesture/figure drawings will take you to the next level.
🍎 is there any way you can please do an Adobe fresco and photoshop for iPad review, like what is carried from the mighty full version photoshop? I just subscribed to Adobe family and I’m learning photoshop from you😉 how ever I’m on the go must of the time with my iPad Pro. Anyway thank you for all the valuable class
For my first drawing tablet should I get xp-pen innovater 16 ,huion kamvas 22 or the xp- pen artist 22 2nd gen
i love you marc!!! Seriously, you are like a guide on this path that I am traveling in the world of art..
Cant wait to learn from an artist with zdlrytrly years of experience 🙏
Are these exercises only for digital Marc, or can you also pratice with pen and paper? 😁
Awesome content btw! 🤘✌️
I've never thought or heard about these exercises except for figure drawing. I've been drawing for over a decade and I've been mainly self-taught. I've been stuck in terms of progress for a couple years and it wasn't until recently that I realized that I'm not practicing properly because I never knew how to practice. I never found resources for proper practice on RUclips until I found you. I've been following you for a few months and I just have to keep pushing myself now to try and do better.
I just can't seem to draw the strips properly. Any tips?
Also I can't seem to grasp the symmetry lines to draw the spheres. Can anyone help please?
First hour of doing this I finally had my first AHA💡moment. It felt so good to finally have something to grasp onto.
"In this final episode of RUclips Art School" (Heart attack) "in this studio" (ahhhhhhhhhhhhh much better)
I can't draw a digital vertical line straight (on paper is easy), horizon line is easy, I don't know why?
Hello there! I've been trying the exercises and the thing i've had fhe most trou le with is the boxes in perspective then finding the middle part of it. I don't understand how to like think? I get making a rectangle sit in perspective, but i totally blank out when teying to find it's middle. Help? T VT
I'm having a hard time understanding but what are some practical applications of #8
can barely control the lines at level 1, what really shows how much I really need to practice really
First

Hello, and thanks to you videos!
But can you tell us how to old the pencil properly? fo drawing? cuz i see alot of people hold the pencil in some kind of tripod grip. but its different from like how you hold a pen when you write... as it seems.
Oh, HI 🤙 just letting you know that the fee and attention.... It's payed, always 😉
me listening" final episode in artschool": insta freeze and bad fellings
me 4s after: start breathing again.

Hey marc🖐🖐🖐 thanks for your great videos❤ I have a question , I am a true begginer in art and I want to learn digital drawing , is it necessary to fit's start learning drawing on paper and then on tablet or can I start drawing on tablet?
"Its you again. 😒"
Well excuse me for sucking at art
In the next episodes we will see how to draw Marc's Goatee...mark my words...
Been doing this for a week now and these are very good warmups!
What is the song called that you always use in the background? I've been searching for ages!
Did you realize your logo resembles xiaomi smartphone company a lot?
I work on phone for my job just finished doing exercise 4 by filling a couple note cards lol
I'm using Krita and I need to have your brushes there.
glad to get advice from a man with 9̶̳̗̞̯͔͈̳̰̦̊̑͋̀̽͆̅̚9̵̞̿̚9̶̡̰̘͕͓̫̩̬̲͐̊̈́̐̍͌̒̀͂̓9̷̡̼̗̍͒͋̇̔͑̀̕͝9̵̢̢͙̰̤̜͚̮̏͑̃̚9̶̭̂͗̕9̵̼̕ years of experience
I promise I will buy your class. Right now I'm just out of a job.
New student here. How long (minute wise) do you prefer to do each of these exercises?
Vertical lines are easier than horizontal? For me its the opposite :O
That 'final episode of youtube art school' almost gave me a heart attack
He grew a beard, he is now a level 100 Master teacher.
Please need video that explains daily schedule like what to do for whole day if you have a lot of free time for beginners
this stuff might be boring but if i need to do it to become art god i will FIGHT!!!
Marc: everything is as usual
Me: so the beard
Beard: stays
Me: oh god
Its about time he moved to another studio, don't know how he got so many tutorials done with all those explosions lol 😆
For 8 - Draw 2 lines from top left to bottom right and bottom left to top right (where the lines meet is the centre)
Every circle I draw turns into an oval. 😮💨
Is it bad that i use a blend brush to blend colors rather than what you did on the exercise 5? (I use the one included on clip studio paint)
When you draw with mouse, i think this good exercises 👍
if I have tremors and the only way to cope is with my palm on the screen is it going to prevent me from being a good artist?
Ive been skipping class for too long Today im back
If comparing Marc to my art teach from hs, Marc wins in every way lmao
I love this exercises and last one is the best part😅
Me a trypophobic looking at the second exercise: 🗿
Your tutorials are always great. Simple and accessible!
it's incredible , you are the walter white flow with your beard
Okay, i got nothing to say besides I LOVE YOU
FFX bgm for the outro. Pretty classy Marc
