I have been married 51 years!! We have so many Christmas decorations. We just boxed up 15 boxes and donated to the thrift store. And those were very large boxes.

2. I love your minimalist style of video!!! No long intros to skip over, just real life decluttering. I love to watch each decision of what to let go of and have noticed I’m parting with stuff I don’t use or need much more easily this week after binge-watching these!
3. I like how you say no to everything she offers! I need to do this with my mom because she wants to give it all to me.

I also love that she’s an artist & creative but getting rid of extra stuff hasn’t changed that. I’m creative too and notice that we creative types see possibilities in everything & tend to hold on to a lot. But after peeling back the layers her art & creativity shine more brightly. And she’s so fun to watch!!

Love watching you and your mum decluttering together. For older women like me it’s very helpful and inspiring. We were often brought up by parents who kept everything just in case 😊

I thought of something else I love about this series- I love watching you & your mom casually move furniture, shelves, take down shelves, paint etc. You two are Amazing!!! Two strong & capable women, and such hard workers!
I actually just cleared off & took down an extra shelf in our garage yesterday. After watching you two do those big metal ones, doing my little plastic one seemed easy! So motivational!!
OMG, your mom is adorable and I have done the same. Down to 2 boxes of Xmas stuff and then a 6.5 ft fake pre lit tree. It makes me happy that i've been able to eliminate a lot of things, which I have donated or gifted on a local Buy Nothing group.
I prefer filling up my tree with memories and sentimental items, so I would declutter all (or most) of the ball ornaments.
Mom should have her own channel, shes so good in camera. Plus shes embracing the lifestyle 💜💜💜

Impressive downsizing of the Christmas decorations! Way to go, Shannon's Mom! I've been doing likewise & have some empty bins too, now, after condensing what's left. It's a great feeling. Makes decorating less stressful & more enjoyable. P.S. - Love Levi in the pics, portraying real life, & a source of extra smiles for us viewers--such a cutie! His first Christmas, too!

I was getting worried when I thought Levi was bashing around the bag of ornaments but neither of you seemed concerned so I guess nothing was broken 😄
I think most of those were plastic, but we took them away quickly because they did have the sharp hooks on them.

My mom "downsized" a little in regards to putting things out, but never actually got rid of them lol. I am going to try to convince her this year before we pack it up after Christmas

Levi getting into everything is so adorable ❤️❤️ You and your mum have such a special relationship, I love watching you together.
One of the best Christmas tree simplifying projects I did was dirching the hooks!! Instead, I tied twine or string through the hole so I could hang them instead of hook them on. So much quicker and easier to take on and off!

My tree is full of my Chrismons, so I put the other ornaments that I want to keep on a wreath that I hang up each year. Merry Christmas, to you and yours!! God bless.

We got some light projectors that sit in the yard and project lights onto the house and garage. So much easier!

I really enjoy your videos, especially when your mom is with you. I am always downsizing and eliminating those items I no longer find useful but are in good condition to donate. I keep a donate box in the garage! Like your mom, I have 2 large bins of Hallmark ornaments. And like your mom, I would take each one out of the box, decorate and put them back in the box each Christmas until a few years ago when I just didn't want to bother! This year I will take the time to go through them and try your method of removing them from the boxes and passing some along to others! I also set aside decorations I have not used in previous years and donate. I am trying to make decorating easier. I also put away any decor that is out so it is just Christmas!🎄
Hi Joanna, it didn't take too long to go through all those Hallmark ornaments and get rid of the boxes and wow is it so much easier to decorate now. I wish you luck on your decluttering =)

You might want to put the tree on a six-inch-high box, just to get the scale right for that room.
Christmas is my favorite holiday so I do have a lot of totes but this year as I take down I am going thru everything and get rid of some because I realize its way way way to much thou I do have 3 trees but like I said Christmas is my favorite holiday of all times
I cut down to one bin but I used to have several. Levi is so cute.

I have been downsizing my decorations for holidays. It is a rush to get rid of a bin and realize it wasn’t needed. By decorating the main room only it has made it so easy. This was a fun video. Love seeing you and your mom. I’m in my 70s and I feel this is a good way to simplify for changes as we age. ❤

I love seeing peoples Christmas ornaments. I have decluttered heaps of unused Christmas items this year, Thrift stores love them in December for their sale. Mum looks great in red, very festive. Great video.

When my grandkids were little, I switched to shatterproof and child-safe tree ornaments. Consequently, I was able to store them without all the wrapping-up of the fragile ones. These new shatterproof ornaments are even prettier than my old glass ones, plus it makes decorating and undecorating the tree a snap.
Now, for the rest of all my bins of decor........ Yikes.
That is a great idea, on my tree at home we also mostly have things that can't break.

This is random but I’ve never seen anyone put lights on a christmas tree like that lol. Have I been doing it wrong all this time by going around and around?? 😂
A few years ago I saw someone do it this way (up and down) and I thought hmm I am going to try it. Ever since then I will never go back to going around and around. It really looks the same and takes half the time. =)

Enjoyed this timely video! I’m a couple years older than your mom and I also decluttered my Hallmark ornament boxes last year, it’s so much easier to decorate now. I’m continuing to declutter the over abundance of Christmas decorations and finding it does get easier. Merry Christmas ladies!
I will be ditching the ornament boxes this year myself. Such a great idea. And it will really reduce the bulk for storage.

If it's not a definite yes, it's a NO. A good lesson for me to learn this year. Lovely video. I decluttered down to two bins and two tiny trees from having more than double that. I did the Swedish death cleaning too. Hard, but what a relief. Merry Christmas. Baby Levi is darling.

Does anyone know if the Hallmark ornaments are worth anything without the box? I'm asking because I would like to get rid of my boxes too but that would be a reason why I might not.
Sadly they really aren't worth anything even if you have the box. Maybe $10 which is cheaper than if you bought a new ornament. Just go on eBay and look what you have up and see 😁
