    INFJ Life Coach Lesson: Today we're talking about extraverted thinking for INFJs, which is our blind spot. So it's not just a function that we don't have in our stack. This one is very interesting because it's the one we have the least power over and with little tweaks, we can use this knowledge to our advantage. So we're gonna talk about what that blind spot is all about, how we're not able to tap into extraverted thinking, why we don't want to and why we shouldn't neglect it altogether.

    INFJ here, my experience with the Te blindspot is that I often assume that other people must be right about a certain topic they're discussing because they probably know a lot more about it than I do, even when my internal logic is telling me otherwise. It's happened to me more times than I can count, but enough times to not dismiss my Ti so quickly and start trusting it!

INFJ ignoring the facts and confusing facts with issues.INFJ needs to learn to believe what they see,not what they believe.and INFJ needs to listen when 2 or more people say the same thing exactly about something the INFJ keeps rationalizing with Ti. we should ask ourselves:" what are the odds these agreeing observers are wrong about this? do i want to fantasize?

    I spent abt 1/2 of my life in my head! After i divorced amd got a new job as an administrative assistant, the light bulb clicked on. Plus my new boyfriend was a mover and a shaker and i helped him a lot. I finally got the balls to get outta my head amd bring it to the physical. It has come more naturally but i still hv times where i hesitate to take the leap and do it. Now ppl come to me and ask me how to take the first steps. But the part you mentioned abt distinguishing reality from my ideals. Im still waking up on that area. Ive lost a lot of years bc of codependency, too much sentimentality and a strong attachment to ideals that dont really serve me. I just had to release one that cost me thousands of dollars in business. It saddened me but i had to deal with reality. Yet i learned so much, helped and inspired so many ppl, and gained a confidence i never had before. I guess i can say it's not a total lost cause. Now i get to decide what to do next--but with more TE in effect!

    That thumping sound you just heard was my jaw dropping on the floor!
    I had started tapping into TE in my pre-Myers Briggs days without realizing it! I think I learned about it by observing my father, who was artistic, imaginative - and awesomely practical.
    When I began to follow his example, I knew it the wouldn't same way he did it, but it could still be done my way and be ok in the process. (BTW, my Dad was pleased! 🙂 ) It was a great feeling for someone like me who had been a seemingly incurable daydreamer as a kid.
    So I can vouch 100% for what you've shared here! Its helped me understand my journey better.

    My church is ran by ESTJ, ENTJ types. They think I am mischievous church member, because I always point at group-think in church. Also, when they publicly call for sticking to a certain belief, that has to do with things being done externally for the spiritual benefit, I call it out on it's lack of logic and truth, because I have no regard for a belief, even if it was around for years, if the basis underneath it wasn't properly explained by logic.

My NI-TI tells me he likes me. But if I will exercise my TE, it would be logical to think that he isn't :( Gosh it hurts too much thinking about it since I already invest my feelings for him. I just realized something... Is tapping into my Te the way to get out of the Ni-Ti loop? Because using my Fe still feels too subjective and triggers Ti again. But when I get into a no-nonsense mode or something external happens that makes me think only about objective facts I get out of that loop.

    • @Wenzes
      @Wenzes  4 года назад +8

I wonder if that will always apply into relationships quo. you think. perhaps we are also diverse INFJ that marriage will always be individual complexes of ideas and dreams? But I pretty much know. once INFJ gets an Idea it will be stuck in there head for a very long time. Because we know INFJ once judging themselves can stick absurdly hard in the mind. The danger of Te is that it’s not built from strong and sound foundations, or Ti. Political thinking is often Te and therefore based on compromised pragmatic logic only. It often lacks purity and has internal contradictions, so we tend to avoid it.

      Yes but don't be scared of Te. Te is what improves systems and efficiency for everyone. It's not about philosophizing to get to the core, it's about getting things done. When your INFJ boss is scared of Te,... they never share ideas with the group, they don't check their facts with the group, they don't improve efficiency for the group (to lessen extreme workloads). INTJ here. Te blindspot doesn’t exactly mean you’re easily impressionable. That’s more of an ESFP/ENFP/ISFP/INFP thing bcuz they’re so focused on what others think(they have Ti demon and Ti trickster) to a point they’re easily impressionable. Te users like INTJ or ESFPs are pretty much thought vampire like we tend to absorb very easily the thoughts of others just like an INFJs or ENTPs and other Fe users absorb the values and emotions of others

  • @billbirkett7166
    @billbirkett7166 2 месяца назад

    I don't really think this is a good way to explain Te though...Te is an interface function that works for the good of the 'tribe' in order to cooperate and bring about action towards an end...in opposition to Fe, it is pragmatic, shorn of feeling, and cold. Its goal is simply executing the most important task, and putting the consensus of the group into action. Implicit in Te is the ability to simply accept what has already been concluded by consensus, without further deliberation. Someone who is Te blind would simply never be able to accept that there are any conclusions of the group that are NOT up for debate. In other words, someone lacking in Te will never accept that there is actually a right way to do something, and consequently, will be bad at 'systems thinking'. This leads to frustration and very bad ADHD.
