The woman that presented them on the live video is the singer of the legendary all female band Show-Ya. After 40 years they are still playing heavymetal!
One superb band followed them from the start .They never disappoint just get better and better .And live they own the stage .
They just uploaded a high quality live version of "oiran" today!
Nemophil-a (NOT “Nemophil-i-a) were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of:
ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki
ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu
ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X)
ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and
ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu
This is one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and are blowing up fast. As you can see from the gang vocals, they don't take themselves too seriously-Hazuki even winks. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.”
Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Mayu with some help from Saki, largely to keep busy in the early days of the pandemic. The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Drummer Murata Tamu took time off to give birth to her son, and on her return, the rest of the bandmembers gave her a welcome back that resulted in an extremely moving moment captured on live stream: “Life” ruclips.net/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/видео.html

Saki is the only one who had been with a breakout band before (Mary’s Blood); Hazuki and Murata-tamu are also considered elite musicians and have worked with a lot of other top artists. Hara-san is the youngest but is clearly a great talent and has been developing in front of our eyes. She has already written several songs for the group. And of course Mayu is quickly establishing herself as a great metal vocalist.
They just toured the U.S. (their second go at performing here): I saw them live and they blew the roof off the place.
I've seen them live. There is next to no difference in her scream vocals between recorded and live. Wrote the previous before you watched "Oiran." You are now witness.
I saw them live 4 weeks ago. Mayu was 10 out of 10. Her screams and vocals were on point. As was HANABIE with Yukina. When they both sang ZEN together the roof almost blew off Zepp Nagoya.😍💣🤘
And Zen is such a monster of a song, would have loved to see that.

Just some trivial stuff the lead guitarist stage left is Saki formerly of Mary's Blood. The band has a nickname for her it is "Chucky" why? She loves horror movies and her favorite charector is? you guessed it Chucky. And she is very good at speaking English. She talked to the audience during there recent US tour
Didn't know she used an effect on her voice on the Dissension MV as she always kills it live. It's been a good few weeks of exploring Japan's musical treasure for you and I'm enjoying seeing you discover it. Great reactions!
Subscribed! Great reactions and support for many of my favorite bands this week. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe how talented every single member of Nemophila is. I just adore this group. Without intending to be confrontational and simply my personal opinion, or taste in music, my favorite vocalists are Su-Metal and Mayu. You might ask how any idiot can compare those to wonder women with such different singing styles? Easily! There are many great vocalists in Japan. I prefer the female voice. They both are exceptionally versatile in their respective styles. Rock, Pop, Hiphop, Metal, and many more genres are expertly and flawlessly covered. It is that versatility of the bands and not only the vocalists that draws me to the Japanese music scene. They are truly a box of chocolates. I do lean to one broad genre, but love all of it to include Miyako’s piano, Anime, and traditional like the Waggaki Band.
you've heard 2 songs and you're a direct fan, there's no other way. so everything is normal! I was there from the beginning too. I had discovered Tamu's RUclips Channel (drums) a few years earlier, it was clear from the first moment, you can confidently listen to everything, whether it's an original or their great covers. there is only one way for Nemophila to be up and famous, but they are also working extremely hard on it, alone as they have endured the "C" period and have invented a perfect system for themselves, they deserve it.
Love them and this song. Saw them in NYC and they were amazing!

Great reactions. One of my favorite bands. Saw them in Dallas back in march. Blew the roof off! Kick ass show. Mayu has that great scream and clean rasp vocals. Her voice is unique and awesome. Yes the Dissension video does have that post production effect that makes her scream more scratchy and higher but she still sounds pretty much exactly the same live.The rest of the band are just out of this world musicians that can play anything and they literally do. They are mostly metal/hard rock but do throw a few slower and poppier rock songs in there from time to time. But most the time they are shredding you face off. Both their albums kick ass as pretty much all their songs. They have also done many amazing covers of many bands. Just a killer band. One of the best that deserve more recognition internationally.
There's a telephone effect on Mayu's screaming vocals in the studio version of this song. She's still amazing live without the effect.
As someone mentioned in chat, Rise live(a recent upload by them), is great. The MV track Adabana is also really good and one of my favorites.
I would add in the MV Raitei for a banger with a stellar finish.
These women are the real deal.
And just think, you haven't found Wagakki Band, Unlucky Morpheus, Asterism, D_Drive, or Ningen Isu yet.
It took me a little while to acquire the taste for Nemophila, but acquire it I have and I haven't looked back. They have a pretty wide variety in their songs. Saki, the lovely redheaded guitarist who did that impressive back bend, is good friends with Miyako of LOVEBITES. They exchange birthday gifts every years. My wife wants to buy Saki's signature guitar from Killer Guitars (the beautiful KG Fascinator: Seven the Empress) for me, but my experience with seven string guitars is pretty limited. My favorite song from Nemophila is "Hipnosis" and its sledgehammer riff, but "Revive" and "Ratei" are great too for heavier stuff while "Life" is a beautiful song with a video that shows their bond as band members and as friends.
Since you like Babymetal, you should check out Nemophila's cover of "Megitsune." Nemophila has a wide array of covers on their channel where they show off their endearing personalities and collective sense of humor. They always do great work musically with their covers, but their attention to detail in the actual presentation is usually pretty good. No other cover exemplifies that more than their version of Journey's "Separate Ways," _buuuuut_ to fully "get it" you have to be familiar with the original video. Thankfully a fan spliced the two videos side by side in one video and it's one of the funniest things I've seen any band do. Here's the links.

My first taste of Nemophila was their cover of Babymetal's Megitsune! I was hooked!!!
9:47 - 9:50 That's the famous "Oiran distortion" ... a 2-3 seconds out-of-sync (because Hazuki and Saki play with 1 different note higher lower than the other one)... distortion that was fixed twice (this is the 2nd version; the 1st was the original studio one, remember, this is their original first song) ... in the end they came up with a perfect 3rd one, on the Revive album.
Saw Nemophila three times and each time they brought it! Each member is super talented! Mayu is my favorite out of the band, her voice is so unique in the way Bon Scott was! If you get a chance go see them live

Noticed your Deathnote shirt. Nemophila has done a cover of the second season closing theme, Zetsubou Billy (original by Maximum the Hormone) I would post a link, but it seems RUclips likes to delete any comment I make with links. Nemophila actually started as a one time cover band called Mayu Session, but they felt they worked so well together that they formed a permanent band.

Yea about that vocal effect: that's the reason I don't like the studio version as much. I don't understand the obsession quite a few japanese producers seem to have with over-producing vocals and putting all kinds of effects on them when the vocalist sounds great as is. Mayu's live scream sounds so much more direct and powerfull, it's not even funny.
I know. Partly that is Japanese culture. You have to do work even if it's counterproductive. I like some of the smaller bands because their stuff is more natural. You can hear guitar slides and stuff.
I think the produced stuff is fine too. I don't hate that style. It's better for the casual music fans.
@@Jordan-Ramses I can see that, but makeing a vocal track good without adding additional distortion, chorus or whatever still needs some work, so... Yea I don't really get it.
It was the same for the first Whiskey Dust recordings for example. Totally different style of music but same effect. Aya has this beautiful deep rich smoothness and character in her voice when she sings live but in the early studio versions, someone slapped some chorus or whatever on the vocal tracks and it just kind looses all it's soul.

Based on what? Oiran is live at NaonYaon festival and she sounds great switching between harsh and clean.
Bullshit even fan cams she sounds good. Only time I have seen here struggle at all was Aftershock when she was like 8 months pregnant.
