I too, was excited about the prospect of SBRing my PM-63C until I realized that the stock of the semi version does not lock up when released since the receiver body was made different than the SMG version. More details and pics regarding this on UZITalk forum.
I've put a red dot on mine PM-63 about a decade ago and it used original grip so it wasn't look that klunky as this conversion on the pic you've showed. The reability issues are problematic only with closed bolt conversion. One problem with open bolt PM-63 is that you need to becareful while racking the slide - you need to be sure it catch on bar or if it pass the round it will go off.
I have open bolt PM-63 and its extremely reliable, build quality is excellent. It is only 100 grams heavier than my CZ shadow 2 but it's real SMG with stock. 9x18 with this gun weight is perfect, very controllable to shoot, much better than pm 84 glauberyt, there is no comparison with uzi... My dad had PM-63 in the army, many times he told me it was a very underrated weapon. I've had it for five years, fired about 8,000 rounds and totally agree with my dad's assessment. Weapon sights were designed for conscripts in the age of 18-20, I'm 30 still manages with them, but I mounted a collimator anyway. In this configuration, this weapon is simply amazing and in my opinion can still compete with much newer designs.
I wonder what people say when you show up at competitions. 'Hey, there is this guy who always brings strange guns to the range. What is it this time?" ;)
Not a handgun, a PDW with folding foregrip and stock. The only alternative from the period was a skorpion vz.61 with even shorter barrel (as far as I know). HK haven't even thought about things like MP7 when RAK was already rusting.
I was at a rifle match, a guy with an SOT showed up with a full auto one of these and cleaned up pretty good. It was very fun to watch him lobbing rounds at the 125yd targets
No, you weren't. Your childish fantasy story doesn't impress or convince anyone here. Dropping the term "SOT" shows your fictitious story for what it is. Tell us where and when this happened; sanctioned rifle matches publish the events and stages on the internet. It'll be easy to verify. This is the part where you start making excuses for why you can't name the event or where it took place. Stick to video games and other child fantasies; you are failing miserably in adult reality.
I've always had a soft spot for the PM-63. Maybe it's because I'm 25% polish...either way, super cool you ran a match with it, and would love to see you run it at another after it's SBR'd!
So it seems the 2023 batch of these are running more reliably than the ones from 2019. The frames are made a bit differently, and they retail for about $400 less
Shot mine this week - one of the new batch of imports. Ran flawlessly and was shockingly accurate and not unwieldily like they look. I think maybe they sorted the receivers on this batch.
I have a PM-63 SBR. Mine is a parts kit rebuild, but I more or less copied pioneer's design for the C model in my semi conversion. I had to do a few mods to make more reliable, but if you want/need any advice on what I did or how to set up the stock, I'm happy to share my experience.
Being stationed in Europe during the Cold War, 9x18 Makarov is my Kryptonite. It's what the first gun I owned was chambered in, and many others since then. Just such a baller little round. And no one will ever change my mind about that.
Buddy let me shoot his East German Makarov. I bought one the next week. Let my dad shoot mine and he bought 2 over the next month. Fine gun and accurate.
Have you been able to properly SBR it yet? I grabbed one a bit ago, and after actually looking over it all, it seems these builds lack a number of necessary parts for actually using the butt stock, notably, a bar that sits above the butt rail, and some sort of indent that keeps it from coming out of the sockets. It also seems much of the lowers are actually aluminum new made parts, rather than kit rebuilds, further complicating things.
I purchased it as well please make another video on what had to be done in order for your stock to actually be functional. Frame of gun heavy altered from original design. Always enjoy the content and look forward to more.

Stock has a spot weld and the foregrip has a pin in it that just holds it in places and doesn't let anything engage.

Ian, only you could find a weapon from Europe's Texas that few knew existed. Well done!
The only country that learned the correct lessons from history 🤦♂
'Europe's Texas' hmm I'm gonna use that one 🤣
@@teagame1011 I think it is popularised by Habitual linecroser.
Might be even coined by him.
I always thought that was Ukraine
It is absolutely a backup gun! Just, not a backup to the same kind of gun.
For when your primary is a 125mm smoothbore...
I love the stupid size of this gun and the fact it shoots a Marakov round.
Really solid performer, though! Impressed with it's reliability.
I too, was excited about the prospect of SBRing my PM-63C until I realized that the stock of the semi version does not lock up when released since the receiver body was made different than the SMG version. More details and pics regarding this on UZITalk forum.
Wearing dark glasses to hide the bruises sounds like a plan.
Ian firing that thing in semi auto feels like the Judge Dredd Lawgivers European knock off XD
You get to play with all the cool toys I’ve ever wanted
this was my all time favorite cod gun
This is a lot smaller than I thought it'd be from my admittedly limited memories of it from black ops 1.
I wish you put your hands on this fellow little brother, the PM-84 Glauberyt, they look so cool.
I wonder what people say when you show up at competitions. 'Hey, there is this guy who always brings strange guns to the range. What is it this time?" ;)
"We need a handgun fireing a glorified 380 thats bigger than a desert eagle"
The Polish: "say no more"
Not a handgun, a PDW with folding foregrip and stock.
Guns like these are more for close reaction situations as in bodyguards or room clearing, shove the gun into the perp`s face and empty the mag.
OMG! He got it with the proper holster!
So it seems the 2023 batch of these are running more reliably than the ones from 2019. The frames are made a bit differently, and they retail for about $400 less
I've said it before: This thing is just 2-3 added random bits of plastic away from seeing use as a Star Wars prop.
I'm surprised it doesn't pop up in movies more often
It accually became a star wars gun in a video game
I can see that being used as a Star wars prop at some point
Shot mine this week - one of the new batch of imports. Ran flawlessly and was shockingly accurate and not unwieldily like they look. I think maybe they sorted the receivers on this batch.
I’m gonna Form 1 mine, too, unfortunately to AOW because MD has a weird 29” OAL law that applies to SBRs.
I have an East German VoPo concealed shoulder holster for this thing. I know what needs to be done.
Oh man, Gun Jesus and Omnis Arma collaboration, that's a crossover if I've ever seen one.
Add Brandon Herera and we got a set.
Arizona looks like hell on earth. Stay cool Ian!
And now new rival to South African guns from Poland in the 80's Hollywood sci-fi gun category 😁.
Still working on it with the gunsmith.
Semi-auto PM63: I'm a really large pistol
Full auto PM-63 with stock: Let me put your eye out, kid!
If only there was some sort of ergonomic design feature which could solve this enigmatic conundrum... The world may never know.
I'm sensing an Ian's Customs build in the near future 👀
Pretty cool gun
It looks like the Logan’s Run pistol 😮
Ejects casings directly into your eyeball.
Always a good feature.
I served in the polish regiment 1973-1975 and i never heard that anyone got hurt when firing this gun.
Always happy to see this odd thing working.
COMING SOON: What Would Wilniewczyc Do!??
It just looks realy cool.
The hood to the side for a couple rounds had me rolling.
Badass!! Super cool gun.
Is that a reciprocating spoon bayonet?
Stage 4 is the ‘intruder behind the fridge, at the neighbors house’ situation.
I love how weird these guns are. I'd love to get one.
The safety got him twice 😂
Another fun and interesting video as always...
Love your shooting videos ❤
really good weapon against the tempest Legion while dual wielded in Outbreak zones
"Ejector is in the magazine"
What the fuck
My only hope is that I live long enough to see Ian actually get that spinner to spin a complete turn. Now if had kept his Vickers....
Imagine that being your EDC, imagine even trying to find a holster for that thing.
I purchased it as well please make another video on what had to be done in order for your stock to actually be functional. Frame of gun heavy altered from original design. Always enjoy the content and look forward to more.
That one malfunction during the BUG match might have been caused by unfamiliarity with the gun, so all in all, a really decent result.
