Not gonna lie, half the reason I’m going to get Ready or Not is because the 1301 (my irl home defense shotgun) is in the game. Kinda wish it had the Magpul SGA on it though.
Shotguns were especially popular (but still are, out of familiarity and the fact that departments already own them) with police because they were widely available and cheap. Most of the widely available long arms back then were for hunting, ie bolt action rifles or shotguns.
Shotguns are still extremely affordable for the level of reliability they offer. After handguns and tasers, a frugal police department's next purchase in firearms would be some Maverick 88's or Stevens 320 if they can't receive any hand-me-downs, two of these costing less than a single one of the most affordable handgun you would have the decency to equip your officers with and with an expected lifetime of about twice as much.
Out of topic but I hope they give more retro guns. I’m trying to use 1980’s and 1990’s SAS loadouts for example. It would be cool we had the browning high power the old railess fn fal, and the c7/c8 rifle, I also wish we had way more shotguns other rifles variant like the cz Bren 2 and polish guns.
Not gonna lie, what you said at the end I 100% AGREE WITH. I love my 1301 and shotguns as a whole, there's just something about the violence of buckshot that scratches the unga bunga itch.
Shotguns were initially chosen because they're generally simple, durable and cheap. Not to mention how many possible candidates/trainees might have experience with them being farm kids or hunting. Just the most logical choice early on at least.
I think Shotguns are underrated tho because most people don't know the right build, i highly recommend going for a speed build which means equip Heavy Armor and as a Material select either Kevlar or Keramik. now Keramik has the lowest protection which means if you're not careful you die quickly but Keramik has the best speed if you choose Kevlar it gives you more protection and almost the same speed as Keramik. that way you can just fast-peek any doorframe then you can see if there are Suspects or not and if there are just use a flashbang to stun them and rush in with your Shotgun incase they won't surrender you can oneshot them easily.
Weird question. Can someone explain to me how extra ammo works with the shotgun? As in, if I bring four extra ammo rounds in the loadout screen, does it mean: A. I shoot my initial 8 rounds out of my M4 and then there are 4 extra rounds to load. Bringing my total to 12 (8 initial + 4 reloads) possible rounds for the map...or B. I shoot my initial 8 rounds out of my M4 and then there are 4 extra full reloads of 8 each. Bringing my total to 40 (8 initial + 32 reloads) possible rounds for the map?
The extra ammo works like B, if I remember. I always carry like 6 extra mags of shotgun, and I remember that I had like 48 shells on my Beretta 1301 in that game, so I'm guessing its B.
For me the Remington 870 CQB beats out the Super Nova simply due to reload time. When reloading a completely empty 870 and Super Nova, the 870 finishes in about 3ish seconds faster than the Supernova. This is simply due to the fact that the reload technique and reload animation on the Remington 870 is much faster than the super nova. To me, reload time and keeping a shotgun fed is the most important. This is also why I prefer the Benelli M4 over the Beretta 1301. Both are insanely good shotguns, literally interchangeable in every situation and would provide the same performance. However in ready or not the M4 uses the same, faster, reload animation as the Remington 870 CQB, which is why I prefer it.
2:17 my dumb ass thought I was witnessing a man harness the power of bulletproof skin from drinking too much shitty beer, until I saw the beanbag shells.

Shotguns, at the right range, with the right load, will *physically remove* a chunk of shit from your opponent and throw that shit on the floor, and you will have to get someone to come in and clean that shit up with a shovel." -Clint Smith, Thunder Ranch.
My only problem with the 1301 and Supernova is the reload speed and animation. I just prefer more of the violin technique like the Benelli M4 and 870MS because one its really new into the game (Though I feel that MW19 did it first) and irl its really comfortable to handle when loading than the traditional.

As shotgun addict i agree with this even if ive never played the game
8:06 love the combination of john wick and rebel path, instant sub
It’s the opposite: Kevlar is lighter but has less protection while ceramic is heavier but offers more protection
"I love shotguns" same brother, same
Weird question. Can someone explain to me how extra ammo works with the shotgun? As in, if I bring four extra ammo rounds in the loadout screen, does it mean:
A. I shoot my initial 8 rounds out of my M4 and then there are 4 extra rounds to load. Bringing my total to 12 (8 initial + 4 reloads) possible rounds for the map...or
Copy. Thanks!

I knew what that intro was gonna reference
I love the TF2 music throughout the video
If they ever add a KSG 12 to the game I'd die happy
You can load one tube with buckshot and load another tube with slug. Very convenience.
I love using the shotguns in this game. :D
These are the best videos thank you
A man after my own heart. Shotgun lovers are universal :D
Now every time I think of Italians I’ll think of how many shotguns they made
I wish they had the A5 in the game. As I own one IRL, I'd really like to use it in this game as well.
"true shotguniers,pump"
The m4 has along history after the marine corps; the SAS ordered a few and had field days with it as well.
Kinda wish some of the shotguns didn't have pistol grips, just some more visual variation. But I love them all none the less.
"Pistols put holes in people. Rifles put holes through people. Shotguns, at the right range, with the right load, will *physically remove* a chunk of shit from your opponent and throw that shit on the floor, and you will have to get someone to come in and clean that shit up with a shovel." -Clint Smith, Thunder Ranch.
shotguns be like: SO NO HEAD????????????
My only problem with the 1301 and Supernova is the reload speed and animation. I just prefer more of the violin technique like the Benelli M4 and 870MS because one its really new into the game (Though I feel that MW19 did it first) and irl its really comfortable to handle when loading than the traditional.
I like the violin method in real life too
Shotguns, because "hands up" wasn't a request.
My firearms instructor called shotguns the Great Communicator. He said he didn't need to be multilingual during search warrants because everyone speaks Shotgunese. Said the same thing when he was testifying once. Lol
