    I really think the black color helps more than a coot decoy. I’ve used black painted milk jugs and it works just the same.

    I hunt in the valley as well mostly private land around the San Joaquin river. There is a lot of different ducks pick up some new spoony decoys I was on the fence about the some coot decoys

    I hunt central California also. Great tip! Do you mix the coots in with your other dekes or do you separate them out and group them by themselves?

      I mix most of them in, but I save about 6-7 and put them in a tightly packed group off on their own.
