I think Impmon's new evos work really well with Gumdramon and Arresterdramon. I can also see the final stage evolving from Destromon
Fun fact, Kenkimon is one of the few armors with a CANONICAL evolution, in the OG TCG Kenkimon -> Bulbmon/Valvemon was printed on a digivolution option card!
Love that rabbitmon line, I really like the idea of patamon going pegasusmon to chirinmon to godramon and have been trying to think of a matching line gatomon to magnadramon, admittedly i would have liked it to be nafertimon but your rabbitmon line just works amazingly

0:55 I think the new Impmon mega could also be a pretty good mega for the Gumdramon line, which has lacked a really fitting mega for a long time. Although I would much prefer if it got a dedicated mega of its own. Maybe an idea for a custom art video down the line
as much as i hate how rabbitmon as a friendship armor evo, your evo choices actually make so much sense that i feel like if armor evo is a thing i wouldve been fine with these choices of kyuukimon and magnadramon/cherubimon
having been old enough to watch Pokemon/Digimon from the start, it's crazy how many Mons there are in each now.
My idea for Raidramon/Lighdramon is BlackRapidmon since both are dogs (kind of) and Rapidmon started off as an armour in 02 as gold Rapidmon.

I feel like Thunderbirdmon was a rejected Hawkmon armour that was repurposed for Impmon. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if other armour Digimon, such as Sepikmon & Mambomon, were designed for different armours & mons but were repurposed at the last minute.
You will never convince me that Thunderbirdmon wasn't supposed to go to Hawkmon.

I really appreciate that you threw in a line for PileVolcamon, as basic as it was, because I've been having a _lot_ of fun designing Digivolution lines inspired by various aesthetics I enjoy and Digimon I want to highlight, and I ended up with exactly the line you came up with for PileVolcamon to highlight my love of rock/earth-themed characters! It's a pretty natural line but it always feels good to see someone else validate you.

Had the same idea while watching the video. Really drops the animal theme hard, but it does make the spikes and the color more justified

My favorite picks are your Gatomon and Wormmon lines. (I even called Magnadramon before you said it). And interesting thing about AncientMegatheriumon - it's got more than four legs. So I feel like that's a nice way to bring it back to Wormmon. Also, I just love Frozomon, so I'm always happy to see it show up in a line.
Always love seeing these videos, going down memory lane of how strange some of the armours were is a lot of fun!

I've seen the digivolution table for the Armors a billion times and it never ceases to shock me how they started making digimon that were clearly meant to be armors, and then just repurposed designs halfway through. AND THEN they used a dartboard to decide what became what besides Veemon.
How is Thunderbirmon not a Hawkmon evo? It even keeps the native american theme. How is Togemogumon not an Armadillomon evo?

I never realized this by guardromon (the steam punk robot) into kenkimon (the more modern robot) is a line I really like

Swap Armors until they match the Rookie and Crest the best. Use whatever constraints you want to work within. Like only the part of the chart with full galleries for all the Crests.
I hope by the time you get to Manticoremon Digimon reveals some cool new digimon that would fit.
Love Manticoremon, but there's nothing BEASTLY for it to Evolve into that looks & feels natural.
One evo I’ve considered for Kenkimon recently is actually LoaderLiomon just because I feel like the drill mane does a better job at kind of keeping the construction aspect than Valvemon who really only keeps the blocky/geometric body shape of Kenkimon and largely ditches the construction aspect in favor of just becoming a vehicle, only problem being that the only mega I really like for LoaderLiomon being HeavyLeomon which I guess can still sort of give construction vibes with the pile bunker it has on one arm and the overall mechanical look is has going on like with the wheels on its feet
For the Patamon line i'd say rather than Triceramon my pick would be Mametyramon here. The small guy has the helmet on his head to fit the whole armor theming, he has spikes on his head and tail and his base coloration fits pretty well with Patamon and Spinomon. And i like the idea of this small unassuming guy just exploding into this mass of claws and blades on evolution, kinda fits with the normal Patamon line of the small animal becoming a ful blown angel that nobody saw coming.
I like crescemon because the crest of friendship of course is associated with wolves so the moon element is interesting and works well
Heavy Leomon serving as an alternate to Breakdramon lets Valvemon serve as a sort of cocoon stage for the machinery as both megas have a construction theme in common with Kenkimon.
I actually considered something similar, though I actually swapped Valvemon for LoaderLiomon
it is wild just how loose you can be with connecting digivolution compared to something like pokemon evo. Like you can have a horse digimon digivolve into a three headed bird and be perfectly fine with it.

Just had a really good idea for a video, or stream. Either choose or randomize a rookie level And a mega level. Then find a champion and an ultimate that fills in the gap to have it make sense in a line.

I was always fancasted rinkmon’s mega to be valkyriemon
In addition to how Togemogumon should have been Armadillomon's Friendship Armor, Stegomon should have been Wormmon's Friendship Armor, because of the mostly green color scheme shared between Wormmon and Stegomon.
Oh! You should do a video where you reassign the various non-show Armor forms to different, more appropriate Rookies than their official ones. And/or maybe reassign them to different, more appropriate Digimentals as well, like how you said Sepikmon looks more like a Courage Armor than a Friendship one.
Magnadramon would make so much more sense as Gatomon's mega if Kyukimon was her actual ultimate. As it stands, the only mega that really fits going off of Angewomon is Ophanimon.

you can have an adult level become armour level in canon, funnily enough. in savers, a drimogemon becomes a digmon to fight geogreymon and gaogamon.
My ideas are the following -
1. Kenkimon into Frozomon into Raidenmon
2. I rather like Armadillomon into Sepikmon into Boutmon into Achillesmon.
3. Brachiomon could also work as the bridge between Stegomon and Spinomon imo (plus it has a bubble-based attack like Patamon!)
I’m partial to Rabitmon to SistermonBlanc (Awakened) to LovelyAngemon for Gatomon.
The logic of Sepikmon to me was always that it used Armadillomons SHELL to make its weapon and mask. To me, the mask is the digimon/key element. And so Id go into that new chinese mask monkey and then into maybe vikemon or some other primitive warrior/white fur vibe.
One of the worst parts about the armor Digivolutions is that the ones in the show were all designed to be toys, while the others were an afterthought. This would be why some have no resemblence at all to their rookie forms, despite being created with the imagery of "Rookie wearing armor" in essence.
KarnEx could you possibly do a video giving baby I and II forms to the frontier cast?

Sepicmon really should not be armadillomons friendship armor, as much as I love the boomerang monkey lol, bandia probably realized that so they gave him kenimon which definitely woks way better

Sorry for bothering people on here about this but i am wanting to try to make a Naruto x digimon fanfic and would like to have him have 3 partners 1st if fox based (possibly an original mon idk) 2nd will be Hackmon and i kinda want the 3rd to be Gammamon. Basically what im asking is if there are any vids where i may get some inspiration for my fox digimon. In-training for it will be Viximon rookie will be a human with fox features of my own idea need inspiration on later forms. Hell the fic might not even be completed its just an idea i had. If not then i can work on it myself or its just back burner stuff.

Something I like about digimon over pokemon is the freedom and willingness to experiment to play with evolution. I've had the idea for a while to assign pokemon digimon levels but something that makes it so difficult is how rigid one franchise is and how loosy goosy the other is

Small nitpick: the cuts in different audio takes are really noticeable lately. Maybe it's better to have some pauses in the audio instead of cutting? If you find yourself splicing different takes a lot, a maybe it's better to redo the take? Still enjoying the videos of course, just something I thought to mention.

You keep saying that Armors are basically just Champions but I don't think they are. If you were going to compare them to traditional evolution lines at all I honestly think the lines would actually look more like this.
Veemon > Flamedramon > Raidramon > Magnamon
Patamon > Pegasusmon
Gatomon > Nefertimon (And I kind of feel like the Anime ALWAYS treated Gatomon as the Champion because that was always her default form so Nefertimon would be Ultimate just as Angewomon is Ultimate even though the male counterpart is a Champion.)
Hawkmon > Halsemon > Shurimon
Armadillomon > Digmon > Submarimon
Terriermon > Gargomon > Rapidmon (And I know that's a Tamers thing not an 02 thing but he did Digivolve to Gargomon first and the Golden armor was presented as being a lot stronger than his normal evolution so I feel like the Tamers evolution line also works here.)
Admittedly it is a bit weird for Veemon and Armadillomon to start off bipedal and then evolve to a quadrupedal form... not even really quadrupedal in Submarimon's case since he doesn't actually have any legs just a couple feet, but the show introduced them in that order and kind of made it seem like the second armors introduced were more powerful than the first, as if that was them digivolving further.
I'm not sure how to treat the armors that were never actually in the series. I'd call them Champion unless it can evolve from a Digimon that is already Champion level or it's a Golden armor. The Golden armors I'd assume are Mega if it's Miracles or Ultimate if it's Destiny which is just my way of explaining away why 2 different Digi-eggs lead to the same evolution.
Personally I feel like Armor evos can vary in terms of level depending on what you want to use them for

And what makes them lazy exactly? I'm enamored by a new line and really like Thunderbirdmon being part of that branching line when it's already an Impmon armor. Would you prefer I be inauthentic and pick a random line I think works worse just for the sake of it?
@Karn_EX nah I just thought It was lazy because you just replaced one digimon in the line with another. Also none of the other digivolutions in the line were birds nor felt that all that connected with the digimon itself. And I just feel the other digimons were there for impmon and not thunderbirdmon
