Yep. That's the core problem. The base pay rate these companies offer is so bad, no driver who understands their true expenses and can do math, will drive absent an over the bonus offer being on the table. And even then, only driving enough to clear the bonus.
LOL, "keeping" drivers was never part of their business model. Their business models were (are) based on a constant steady "churn" of new drivers from whom they could extract as much value as possible until they quit (too many new drivers are "math" challenged and don't properly understand their true expenses). Now that that steady stream of new drivers seems to have dried up, they have a problem that they don't seem to know how to fix. Simply paying drivers a better base rate, and if necessary raising what they charge riders and/or keeping less for themselves, just doesn't seem to be on the table from their point of view.
The exact reason they can't keep drivers is because they are not making a living wage. If we are all pulling in 1k a week, would they be a driver shortage?
Im going to be very clear per my experience as a driver: If Uber and Lyft actually paid a sustainable wage to its drivers long term, there would NOT be such a shortage of drivers like there is. It’s their fault for failing to provide a reasonable compensation for rides. Even if they offer incentives, drivers will jump the boat as soon as they see it’s not convenient. Can you blame them? No. The cost of living is rising immensely and we will do whatever it takes to keep paying our bills.
@@NewYorkHardCore-vr4ik for me to do 4 rides PER HOUR in Arizona is harder than we think, tho. I've tried to bang out a lot of rides in a short time, and I've managed to do 33 in a 12hr day once. Few points here, he quit because there’s no way he was going to work all that much again for $700, I’ll bet during those hundred trips that week he didn’t get any rides by some MFr’s that want a ride to the liquor store and then back like I get in my area, Lyft is not that good out here north of Chicago. Lyft keeps us drivers in the dark more than Uber, they don’t tell if it short or long trip when we accept a ride besides the 45 minute plus notice(Uber randomly).
Not Here in NY !!! We don’t need more drivers Lyft or Uber, thank you very much! It’s only good for the customer and for the company. We don’t need that experience again, thank you very much !!!
I live in the largest city in the southeast which is Atlanta Ga and I average 4 mile rides that pay around 4 dollars and take 15-30 minutes each with the drive to pickup and drive to delivery taken into account. Not going to get rich that way. The only bonus areas for me are downtown Atlanta which sux to drive in and why few drivers want to drive downtown.
Would do more but don't like going long distance for a short trip. Uber Eats is more consistent. Only real incentive is to bring another driver on the platform in Houston Texas. I mix it up, it is a lottery.

Minneapolis St Paul has a similar offer for NEW drivers. 140 rides for $5300! I contacted Lyft and complained that we experienced and current drivers can't get anywhere close to that. Basically, what I was told was blah blah blah, etc. They have "other" incentives for current drivers. But it's nowhere close to what's offered for NEW drivers! Also several riders make two stops. Most times to a store around the corner and back. You literally have to sit there and wait on these ppl and u don't get paid for that. I swear these jobs pay next to nothing
Lyft and Uber pay very little. If someone made 6000 they work for corporate. How do you turn the volume down on the driver app for lyft. It's loud and annoying. Nobody had ever been able to answer this. The uber app is much easier to change the volume.
He's lying. 1) That's $54/hour. 2) He's not mentioning any short-term bait-and-switch promotions he's getting. 3) He's failing to mention to new drivers that, depending on his car, 25%-65% of his income goes to expenses and depreciation.
200 guaranteed for 17 rides, 300 bonus for 20 so that’s $500 total for 20 or $100ea for 3 LOL for a day n half driving. Just quickly take every little crappy run to do it quick
Not here in georgia we only get $3 for local rides up to 4 miles if i drive from my region to atlanta to the airport and drip off about 60 miles we only get $56 avg. We dont always.get ride bonuses or streak bonuses.
He expressed cashed out it says only 600 and something why? I know a few Tampa drivers and none of them tell me about how great the money is in Tampa it's pretty comparable to Orlando from what they say which basically is in season 200 250 a day out of season 125 150 a day and that's based upon the average of 7 hours online
Lyft have the worse way of rating their driver. They are also the meanest comparing to Uber to their divers. Their customer service is terrible. This company bonus structure is also terrible! Uber is way better and more busy
All Lyft drivers should want to stop driving for Lyft after watching this video. Lyft gives over $5000 bonus to new drivers but not the old drivers? Fuck Lyft!
The $6k for 100 rides wasn't regular pay. It was a "new driver bonus guarantee" for 100 rides in first 30 days. Yep, $60 per ride avg. We know the roads and areas better than new drivers would. We cruise thru airports with ease. We navigate highways and business areas with ease. New drivers are sometimes learning what we've already mastered, yet this apparently has no value to these rideshare companies.
It's hard to make the bonus because you may drive from one side of town to the other side can you make sure no more but you're driving you up so you might not even make you 60 trips by Thursday but you're not sit staying in a small radius so that we may make a decent amount of money that night you're not able to do extra and stay in one area like you used to you could be downtown before rides in enough for you all outside in the countryside
I don't really do too many lyft drives because their bonuses are usually garbage. But two weeks ago they offered 150 for ten rides. Cool. Did the ten rides and back to Uber. Both are garbage but the whole lyft incentives are insulting

I would have done the same thing..how u not going to offer decent incentives to older drivers?? But a new driver can just milk them and leave
Today May 20 I declined $2.50 and $3.00 during the 5 pm dinner rush.
6000 in a week, that's bull crap. C'mon.
How do you turn the volume down on the driver app for lyft. It's loud and annoying. Nobody had ever been able to answer this. The uber app is much easier to change the volume.
I make more than 100 trips every single week.
14 rides a day is so easy for that type of money. impossible in my market
Same in AZ, unless you wanna accept 8min rides that take 22 mins to get to. They have those all day! Lol! Working an hour and getting like $9 total.
I've done 150+ rides in a week and I didn't even get close to that 🙃
Damn 😮
I’m driving for Uber full time in CA and I make $2500-$3000 every week in last two months
define full time and trips etc
Where in California?
@@savoeunpho4055 Orange County & LA County
He's lying. 1) That's $54/hour. 2) He's not mentioning any short-term bait-and-switch promotions he's getting. 3) He's failing to mention to new drivers that, depending on his car, 25%-65% of his income goes to expenses and depreciation.
@@jjm3762 50-55 hours a week, 160-180 rides a week
39 dollars in 5 hrs.... this video is just made by lyft.. for fools
So what the stats are saying is he drove 46 hours and only paid $2 in tolls that can't be true
Smart guy 👍🤑
THATS BULL 6000 I don’t believe it
He expressed cashed out it says only 600 and something why?
Fuck Lyft!
Maybe a huge market, but not anywhere less than 1M population.
$71.43/hour for 84 hours ... pretty good!
Lyft gets all the Sketch rides in Most states be careful out there!
The app will not allowed him to work more than 12 hours.Iv been 5 years with Lyft I made over 100 rides u can't make more than $ 2000..this is B S
The $6k for 100 rides wasn't regular pay. It was a "new driver bonus guarantee" for 100 rides in first 30 days. Yep, $60 per ride avg. It was a real offer in Tampa Bay (I can't speak for other markets). I can confirm that lyft offered that new driver bonus in Tampa Bay. I can also confirm they retracted it after 3 or 4 days.
@@MJSmithGroup even there is a short in our area , some rides we used to pickup to airport last year we used to get 45 minutes get $45 now we get only $28 and some cases we get $25 ..not all rides we get bonuses for it . they need badly drivers they loosing a lot of rides.
Lyft sent me a PROPAGANDA email about Texas law...DELETED the App GOODBYE lyft.
I did 25 rides a day an I don’t even. Make a fraction of that so how did that happens
I do about 32 rides a day and get about 400-500 daily
Earnings guarantee for this week; $51 for 30 rides... NOPE
Garbage. Oure garbage. That's gas money for ONE or two days.
That's probably a challenge, not a guarantee. My challenge this week is even worse $40 for 37 rides or $66 for 47 rides
@@matthewdixon6252 that's horrible man. Damn. Insulting to all of us that have taken the chance to keep these companies afloat by picking up people this whole time.
@@MicDropBBQ Yeah, I don't pay attention to the challenges anymore, maybe every once in a while I'll get a decent earnings guarantee, but primarily now only drive when there are streak bonuses. I would previously drive one weekend day a week, it's now taking me two weekend days to earn as much as a really good weekend day used to
@@matthewdixon6252 same here, brotha. I used to clear almost $350 in an 8 to 10hr shift easily. Now? Shit. Maybe $200. Maybe. If tips come thru. If no tips, clearly not making $200 in those 8hrs. It's bad. But all the new drivers seem to love the promos they're getting JUST to be on the road.
These companies are killing the veteran drivers' morale. Driver retention should be a priority. We know the roads and areas better than new drivers would. We cruise thru airports with ease. We navigate highways and business areas with ease. New drivers are sometimes learning what we've already mastered, yet this apparently has no value to these rideshare companies.
There's no incentive in lafayette la when the do it 3 for 15$ at 3 am lol when the cities is closed
Yep. Here in Minneapolis too. In March they actually gave great streak bonuses all day long. Not so much anymore.
Chicago isn't making even close to that
It's hard to make the bonus because you may drive from one side of town to the other side can you make sure no more but you're driving you up so you might not even make you 60 trips by Thursday but you're not sit staying in a small radius so that we may make a decent amount of money that night you're not able to do extra and stay in one area like you used to you could be downtown before rides in enough for you all outside in the countryside
Not in Illinois they never offered that
Not yet in Philadelphia PA.
Hi RideShare Guy!
Looking to collab! Let me know how you’d like to proceed 😊
I don't really do too many lyft drives because their bonuses are usually garbage.
But two weeks ago they offered 150 for ten rides. Cool. Did the ten rides and back to Uber.
Both are garbage but the whole lyft incentives are insulting
Don't lie me boos i m a driver lyft too okay
Where is that , I am a loyal driver with UBER and am trying to join with lyft but I did not see any promotion in DC. Tell us DC area promotion in lyft
2,800 for 160 rides.I can send you a referral if you like.
@@thanksfortrumpcnnmsnbcandh8771 $17 an hour , that is why I hate lyft , tell them to shut down the company
Dam I feel stiffed I'm doing 140 for 1600 guarantee I'm 93 in its.miserable who can do this job full time fuck this
Where was this when i started .
They always bait and switch the earnings promos.
And earn only 100 us × 100 rides ???
Yes this men mad $6000 after months he went back surgery bcz he have pain healthy life first money 💰 can make whole life
