I love driving Lyft, I do mornings only here in NJ, took a few weeks to find the hot spots ect... I have regular tipping riders who i pick-up a few times a week, Some days I'll accept rides into Manhattan which pays $70-$90 for a 45 min trip. Bonus zones are now on Lyft, I have seen them as high as $80 just for being in that area and all you need to so is give one ride no matter how short it is and it's yours. Keep your car clean, inside and out, Passengers can rate you on clean car, good driving, friendly and a few more. Don't ever ever ever accept a ride from someone with an infant and no car seat, they always say the same thing, well the last driver was ok with it and i'll just hold the baby.... Nope not gonna happen, you can cancel the ride without it going against you and still get paid for it.

One issue i see that needs to be addressed is the drive to the pickup and the driver getting paid nothing for that. I get 15 minute plus pickup times often only to take a rider two to four miles down the road. Cannot make enough money with that happening. I tried it for ten days and it just was not worth the stress of fighting traffic with no more than I was able to net.

Drove with LYFT for ten days and had this recurring issue. In Atlanta, Ga if your vehicle is older than 2014 the app will log you off when dropping passengers off at the terminals because the vehicle does qualify for airport pickups. Well. when a on a three ride streak this will break my streak. it happened four times in four days as I go to the airport regularly. After a lengthy chat session with a different rep every time in which I had to explain the entire situation over and over I had three support reps acknowledge it is an issue on Lyft's end and credit me the money. The fourth rep basically said I should stay away from the airport since I do not qualify. Hello, what am I supposed to do with my rider that is going to the airport? I am finished with LYFT since it is barely worth my time with the bonus and certainly not worth my time without the bonuses. After gas I averaged around 12 dollars an hour in my ten days and 156 rides. Not getting rich here folks. I see why LYFT is begging for drivers.
Join a delivery company, & no rider will sit in your car to give you a poor rating or false report for a free ride. You'll also earn more for a few mileage.
They can still give you poor ratings as a delivery person, people will get their food delivered then pretend they never received it to get their money back, which looks bad on the drivers part
@@alisjay9798 It’s true, but the picture of where you place the food will serve as your evidence when they lie. Unlike a ride when the person sits in your car, makes it dirty or bangs your car door.
Hi! Several years ago, I used to drive for "Uber" and had picked up a few passengers that were either going from a party [slightly intoxicated] or going to a bar [to get more intoxicated]. I once picked up some passengers from an air show that was being held in another city close to where I live. Unknown to me, when the person first got in my car, she was holding an open plastic cup of beer - without a lid on it! Anyway, long story short, this person managed to spill some beer on the back seat area where people sit [unknown to me as well] & when I picked up my next customer/passenger, she mentioned the seat was wet. Good thing I had some towels in my car trunk, so I placed the towel on the wet spot for that passenger. Shortly after that experience, I stopped driving for Uber. I won't pick up any "bar" passengers anymore because I don't want the customer to get sick in my car! Now my neighbor & friend drives for "Lyft" and he says it's a much better company to drive for. This video was helpful with the extra tips about having a bucket handy for keeping the inside of the car clean between different passenger rides. Another person mentioned about not picking up a passenger with an infant, which was good to know, since I don't have a car seat in my car as all my grandkids are well past the "baby" stage! @abbyhunker3956 - Also, how does a "Lyft" driver know if they are being requested to pick up at a bar or not? thanks for reading my reply! 😀

It's great when you start, been driving 6 years after incentives have it make sense. I received $1750 for a every driver referred and could easily make $500 a night on Friday & Saturday. Because Lyft and Uber keep deactivating the High earning, picky, 4 year or more pros who have a high cancellation rate. They want the rookies to drive for them because they will pick up anyone without using their brain to sort out the worthless long-distance pickups who need a 3 mile ride.

Great video. Thanks for doing it. The interesting part I see is that you made $20.21 a hour if you count your online hours or $30 an hour of booked hours. At 1400 miles with a low cost of 25 cent a mile you earned $15.07 if you count online hours and $22.45 an hour if you count booked hours.
Nice video. Most of my customers sit in the back seat. I get a lot of riders that have luggage and carry bags. Great kit but use smaller bottle because I don’t like clutter. Have you heard Octopus?
Hell now! In my Iowa market, the rates and tips are way too low for all this stuff. I'm not gonna be providing masks, USB outlets and video games for a bunch of $3 and $4 fares.
Drove 20 min pick up someone and 20 min to drop off was pd 8.06 cents. Lyft stinks bad!!! Also I believe with everything in me lyft steals driver tips. I wld bet my life on it. Don't do it do Uber. Not to mention while in rt lyft automatically adds rides and they r 20 to 30 min away which u don't get pd for the pickup. What u r pd apparently differs where u drive. Not a big city, u get pd pennies, literally. Do not do lyft, it is a horrible company. If a complaint is filed agst u your account is instantly deactivated without ever asking u the driver what happened. It cld take 4 Mos plus for them to even get ur side of the story. In the meantime ur account is inactive. They instantly take the riders complaint as truth. Lyft is absolutely terrible and I'll say it again I bet my life they r stealing drivers tips!!!
You should get dash camera when I work in Lyft in urs safety I'm start driving in Lyft 2017 if u get accident you have prove it I'm Waz passenger inside my car and some one run it red lig
Yeah a dash cam definitely helps! I do doordash and i use it for my deliveries, I'm thinking of getting into Lyft also cause doordash is slow in my area during the day. I'll by a dash cam facing inwards for Lyft. For my safety and for the customers safety.
Glad it helped! I kept all my receipts for any food, and supplies I needed and recorded mileage driven, and gave all that to my CPA and let them handle it.
payroll takes until Friday the following week, unless you go premium with cash out. warning: if you are renting your Lyft car through Express Drive you cannot cash out until the rental is paid for.
Very good presentation with valuable tips. One comment, you used the term odometer twice when I think you meant tripmeter. Resetting your odometer involves pulling out your Instrument panel and is VERY illegal.
how much can a driver make that does 60 hours a week after taxes and fuel roughly some people are saying under $1000 some are saying $1500-2500 and so on and does Lyft still do express pay where u can cash out at the end of ur shift
Just had my first Lyft driving experience this week. It’s shit! I’ve been doing Doordash for almost two years & make nearly double. Lyft doesn’t pay until you pick up the passenger. Also, I hate not knowing how much I’m making or where I’m going ahead of time.
@Michael David Diaz Sr Lol.. He wants you to use the referral link. He'll get paid if you do. Driving for Lyft and Uber is a terrible grind. They pay so little to give rides, and that's why drivers protest and states and countries are cracking down on them, and/or suing them. California is suing Uber and Lyft, and for good reason.
Well how do I get my money back? Grant it that it's $9.99, but it's the principle. And I want it back or a free ride. I've been a Lyft customer since my horrific car accident. And I love Lyft, but this driver not seeing me or ignoring me; really ticked me off,
Not really sure how to help you on that one. I don’t work for Lyft aside from occasionally driving, so you might have to look up their customer support.
A couple questions: Great video btw! Lyft is running a crazy $9,000 guaranteed earnings promo now (200 deliveries in 30 days). Do you think it's possible to hit that goal?? Where area did you drive?
Wow, that is pretty crazy! I drive around Salt Lake City, Utah. I recently did 30 rides in about 2.5 days. My big bonus was 120 rides in 30 days and I hit that without driving everyday.

I figure I will only do 3-4 days a week in beginning. Thanks for the tips. I will definitely buy car wash pass.
Awesome plan! Glad you liked the video
Go Dawgs!!! How is Lyft working in Athens
Thank u for this video it is very helpful to me because I'm wanting to become a Lyft driver and this a good insight on how to be a good Lyft driver I definitely love the idea of how to entertain children and keeping the car clean as well stay blessed and will highly recommend this video to anyone 🙏 thank you
Awesome! Glad it helped out!
Thanks for video. I will look for more
Glad you liked it
This video was very well done
Thank you, I appreciate the comment!
Thanks! Glad you liked it
I need advice, tips on how I can make $ with Lyft! I put in 7 hrs and not even making 100 sometimes 🥺and is my fulltime job
Love this video. Been thinking about doing this job so I need to see this.
That’s great! I’m glad you found it helpful! 👊🏻
Nice video. Most of my customers sit in the back seat. I get a lot of riders that have luggage and carry bags. Great kit but use smaller bottle because I don’t like clutter. Have you heard Octopus?
Thank you for this video, I am trying to driver either for Uber or Lyft on my spare time just to make extra money.
Glad you found it helpful!
Great video ! Absolutely loved all the information thanks for the video
You bet. Glad you liked it!
Hell now!
In my Iowa market, the rates and tips are way too low for all this stuff. I'm not gonna be providing masks, USB outlets and video games for a bunch of $3 and $4 fares.
Well informed video!!!
Thank you!
Excellent, but I was hoping to see a sample ride end 2 end in car, but great overall
I was actually just thinking about that yesterday! If I ever do a part 2, i'll make sure to include that :)
Great advice and tips!!
Thank you!
You should get dash camera when I work in Lyft in urs safety I'm start driving in Lyft 2017 if u get accident you have prove it I'm Waz passenger inside my car and some one run it red lig
That's some good advice! I think I will!
@@tracenfitzpatrick get the one with 2 camera....one forward one on passengers
Yeah a dash cam definitely helps! I do doordash and i use it for my deliveries, I'm thinking of getting into Lyft also cause doordash is slow in my area during the day. I'll by a dash cam facing inwards for Lyft. For my safety and for the customers safety.
Wow! Appreciate info. That makes me wonder how some folks I’ve encountered claim they make $1000 to $1500 a WEEK!!!
I certainly could have driven a lot more, but wouldn’t want to be out constantly. Not sure how accurate those people’s claims are.
Bro! Great video! Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼
Glad you liked it!
Great video. Very professionally done for not having many subscribers.
Thank you
Awesome video! 🙌👍 thank u!
Glad you liked it!
Is this a 1099 job?
I have a Fusion Hybrid and my MPG has gone up too. Also, following behind someone is called drafting.
Nice! Love that car. Yes, drafting. That was one of those things that came to me as soon as I was done :)
Decorating the car like Cashcsb would be pretty cool.
Yeah that would be!
Just started this week. This video is very helpful. Any info on what be considered tax deductible and if there’s a limit on gas and food deductions?
Glad it helped! I kept all my receipts for any food, and supplies I needed and recorded mileage driven, and gave all that to my CPA and let them handle it.
I drove for many it was fun and did my own videos. People are too demanding now!!! then back then. Now I just drive!!!
That intro was fire!!
I appreciate it!
payroll takes until Friday the following week, unless you go premium with cash out. warning: if you are renting your Lyft car through Express Drive you cannot cash out until the rental is paid for.
Good to know. Thanks for commenting.
Very good presentation with valuable tips. One comment, you used the term odometer twice when I think you meant tripmeter. Resetting your odometer involves pulling out your Instrument panel and is VERY illegal.
correction: tripometer
@@AlanBrennaman thanks for the comment, and you are correct!
Do you think you can make $2700 working 4/5 days a week 7 hours a day in 30 days?
Thank you for this information
You bet
This was a good and informative video.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
Awesome Video bro 👌 Keep up the great works!!! 🤙🎼🎹🎹☮🍺🙌
Thanks! I appreciate it
Very informative, Love it. Thanks.
You bet. Glad you liked it
You so lovely positive god bless from a new starter I'm starting my Uber soon
Thanks best to do Lyft express and get the app for your miles its deductible on your taxes too, take care
Thanks for sharing!
How do you turn off automatic ride accepting?
how much can a driver make that does 60 hours a week after taxes and fuel roughly some people are saying under $1000 some are saying $1500-2500 and so on and does Lyft still do express pay where u can cash out at the end of ur shift
I haven't driven recently, but last time I was on, you still had the option to cash out anytime. I think it cost $0.50.
@@tracenfitzpatrick how much can u generally make after ur taxes and fuel roughly if u work every day Monday- Sunday 7am-9pm I live in Syracuse NY
Just had my first Lyft driving experience this week. It’s shit! I’ve been doing Doordash for almost two years & make nearly double. Lyft doesn’t pay until you pick up the passenger.
Also, I hate not knowing how much I’m making or where I’m going ahead of time.
Yeah, definitely some downsides. I'd keep doing doordash if that works better for you.
@Michael David Diaz Sr no
It doesn't cost anything to try it out, so I say go for it.
Where on a android to to stop for break
Love Lyft BUT TODAY 10/7 I WAS OUTSIDE WAITING FOR MY LYFT DRIVER FOR 20 MINUTES WITH MY MEDICAL GEAR. THE DRIVER NEVER PICKED ME UP AND I AM PEEVED.
That's frustrating!
A couple questions:
Great video btw!
Thanks so much for the reply! I'll give it a shot!
@@craigf4588 best of luck!
I can't find the Lyft App that lets you know where other drivers are.
It’s the Lyft passenger app.
@@tracenfitzpatrick so its within the the Lyft app for riders??? I'm new to this, just waiting for my background check and my vehicle inspection to clear. Thanks.
@@joemartinez8322 Yes thats right.
@@tracenfitzpatrick thanks for the information.
@@tracenfitzpatrick does Lyft App keep track of driver hours and will those hours appear on 1099 or do I keep track of hours on my own?
That’s nice work for one month driver ? You have been reading Lyft scripts very good for the advertisement
Not paid for or sponsored by Lyft 👍🏻
Nice video!
Which type of camera did you use ?
Canon EOSR
Thank you, informative!
Glad you liked it
I wish you were my Lyft driver smoking and a switch?! It’s over with u getting a tip and 5 star
What does it mean when you say something like 16 hours online and 12 hours booked?
Thanks
I was out logged in to Lyft for 16 hours total, but only had people in the car for rides for 12 of those hours.
Good job on the info
Thank you
Why does Lyft have Felon's Driving and make it impossible to report??
..
very consider for the passengers with gums and Nintendo switch
That was really good
I appreciate it
Helpful-thank you!

Don’t forget to mention they pay pretty good for referred drivers
